Melissa Flint is the best vet that I have ever had take care of my pets. The rest of the staff are also wonderful.

Although convenient as far as demographics, I have learned that that is not what's important at all when choosing a clinic. More often than not, you are required to leave a voicemail which I understand that happens, however, it was happening more often. Most of the time they referred us to a different clinic to help because they were unable or not open. Stayed there just a little too long due to convenience. My bad. Do your research. read more

I've been going to doctor flint for the last 5 years she's very intelligent and knowledgeable. Her bed side manner with your animals is beyond amazing and will remember you which sets her apart from other vets. Her staff is very pleasant I would suggest her to anyone looking for a new vet even if it's a little bit of a drive for you. I had been going to Flint Veterinary for about a year when my 1 year old cat broke his femur. I scheduled a follow up to get him pain medicine the following day. 6pm the night before my (8 am) appointment, a representative called to say they were closing for the day and cancelling our appointment. I asked to speak to Dr. Flint and was told she'd call me right back. After not receiving a call back, I called and spoke to Dr. Flint who said she "knew some feelings would be hurt" when she decided to close for the day. I frustratedly said that it wasn't my feelings that were hurt, it was my cat's f**king broken leg. The next day I sent an email to the office apologizing for my language and explaining that it was a very stressful day for my family. Dr. Flint responded with a very condescending email saying I should find another vet. It's unethical at best to abandon a cat with a broken leg because of an upset pet owner who apologized for my (minimally) inappropriate lan Dr. Flint's staff had always been kind to us however I can't support an office whose owner cares more about her ego than the well-being of the animals in the community. read more

Missy is one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient vets I have ever worked with. My only regret is that I did not find her sooner! We've been going to Flint since 2021. Our first visit was after receiving a not so great diagnosis from my last vet. I went to see Missy and her team at Flint for a second opinion and to say I was relieved by her findings compared to the first diagnosis is an understatement... Unfortunately, I had to let my guy go on 7/2/21 As heart wrenching as our goodbye was, I take so much comfort in knowing that I chose the exact right path during our end of life journey thanks for Flint Veterinary. I knew I had their full support with every decision I made. Dr. Flint gave us 3 1/2 more months with our boy after being told it was time to put him down by another vet....for that I will always be thankful. Fast forward 7 months, we adopted a new pup and naturally my first call was to Flint to schedule our vaccines and check up. It's been almost 2 years since we adopted and this office has been there every step of the way. I will forever be a patient at Flint Veterinary Care, there is no one I trust more with my guy then this team. Thank you to Dr. Flint and her entire staff for loving my Angel baby for the short time you knew him. For answering every question (even when they were repeats), for picking up every phone call with patience and kindness (even when I was on call 7 of the day), and for guiding us during a very difficult transition. Dr Flint and Dr Potalivo are phenomenal when it comes to animal care. They love and treat my dogs as though they were their own, which is very reassuring to me, especially as they age. The staff is always friendly and makes you feel like you are not bothering them, even when asking questions repeatedly .... I am glad we made the switch three years ago! read more

I love Dr. Flint and her staff because I always feel like my concerns are truly being heard. Dr. Flint always has a plan A, B, C, and D for any issues my dog has, and if she's out of her element, she has no problem referring us to a specialist. Our last vet seemed to just increase meds and shrug her shoulders, so this is a breath of fresh air. Also the most affordable vet I've ever been to. Every time I get the bill I'm shocked--in a good way! The biggest indicator that Dr. Flint is a wonderful vet is that she gets on the floor with my dog rather than making her stand on an exam table. This helps dogs feel much more comfortable. I understand not all vets can do this but I appreciate that Dr. Flint does. I cannot recommend Dr. Flint's practice enough. read more

While on vacation in Western NY, a sick pup that's a close companion of my parents didn't feel too swell. A call to Flint Veterinary Care and the sick pup was on his way for a visit.... Dr. Flint and her staff were courteous and inviting. They handled the situation with compassion knowing we were out of town visitors. The office is very professional and exceptionally clean showing an exceptional level of attention to detail that Dr. Flint and the staff strive for. He's back to normal and active again! Wow.....we were with Flint when they were in Albion. There was no record of my pet even being there! Must of tossed then out! Then they want 55.00 NOW to "hold" your appointment today when your appointment is a month away. If my pet didn't get car sick I would not go there! read more

We've been coming to Flint for over a year now. We are always treated with kindness and empathy from the staff. You can tell they genuinely love animals and behave as such. Our dog had surgery to have teeth removed this week and I was so nervous about the procedure because he's elderly, that I cried, and the staff were patient with me while I dropped him off. They were also patient with the many questions I had post - op. His procedure went really well, and they even clipped his nails while he was under which is always a big ordeal for us while he's awake. They've had this level of attention and patience the entire time we've visited here. I especially love their Covid procedures, they basically attend to you either from your car or a small office with outside access, then you wait in your car. We LOVE this practice as it kind of sucks waiting around in a waiting room. I hope this can continue long past covid being over. Overall, based on 4 visits, one being surgery, I'd highly recommend this practice! read more

On December 31, 2020 my family had made the heart-breaking decision that we had to put our sweet old girl Maple to sleep; the girl who slept on our heads every night and my children adored. Unfortunately, our regular vet could not fit us in due to our last-minute decision and recommended Flint Veterinary Care Center. So, we made the appointment and with heavy hearts drove to Flint Veterinary Care Center. Upon our arrival there was a blatant lack of empathy from the reception staff, but we felt that didn't matter we would be in a room soon to spend the last moments we had with our precious girl. Tragically, this was not the case. We waited over an hour with dogs barking and scaring Maple along with the sound of screaming dogs from the shallow walls echoing through the building. I asked the receptionist if we might have a room to sit in so we could pet and love on Maple before she took her last breaths, but this was not granted. Instead she laughed at the idea; as if our cat having to be put to sleep was a big joke. I angerly sat back down. Much later we were led to a room where we were introduced to Dr. Flint the practice owner who didn't express any sense of empathy. After our Maple was gone my husband went to the front desk to pay. When he finished paying he asked to speak with the Dr. Flint. My husband worked for various veterinary practices for nearly a decade before becoming a Registered Nurse. My husband reviewed the practices we encountered today and the way that makes the pet and family feel in this situation... Dr. Flint's answer was "Well, we were accommodating you because your vet could not get you in today". To this my husband replied "accommodating does not mean you can treat an animal and family in this manner. Being a veterinarian is more than working with animals. When you are putting an animal to sleep you are treating the animal and the family saying goodbye to their loved one." Again, Dr. Flint's response was "Like I said we were accommodating you. Have a good day and we are sorry for your loss." Our last moment were spent with our girl trapped in a crate scared with no time to adjust or feel comfortable in the place she would be taking her last breaths. This practice has no regard for the feelings or welfare of pets only the dollars they collect. A day that was already emotionally heavy was made unbearable due to the lack of concern and poor demeanor of the staff. Dr. Flint has much to learn about being an excellent veterinarian, a customer service representative, a business owner, and the importance of end of life care. read more

My cat. Lucy, was drooling and having difficulty swallowing. Dr. Flint was recommended to me by a friend so I brought Lucy in for a consultation. It was determined Lucy needed to have her full set of teeth removed which would reduce inflammation in her throat. Her surgery was scheduled and completed after an estimate of costs were given and agreed upon within a range of $$. Lucy had to stay the night because she bit her tongue in recovery, which is an uncommon complication.She had six teeth removed, not the full set and had to get prednisone shots post op because she continued with the copious drool and difficulty swallowing. Dr Flint stated, "Well, we may have to go back in and remove the rest of her teeth" This entire process cost over $1200 which was $450 above her estimate at the top of range and was for a full removal of teeth not six teeth. Then my friend told me she had a similar experience with padded costs and would never return to Dr Flint. I felt she overcharged me. It seemed her customers are to pay for her three years of veterinary training in St Kitz and her new office, not for the actual veterinary procedures. As a new vet, it is my opinion that she could benefit from supervision from a more experienced vet. Unfortunately for us, this has been a very bad 12 months for our dogs. Dr. Flint took great care of us every step of the way. We've dealt with a euthanasia for an elderly arthritic dog, a broken leg on a 6 month old puppy, teeth extraction for some cracked teeth, an emergency with a dog that was vomiting blood and another emergency with a dog that had eaten and vomited some very pointed deer bones. My first visit at Flint Veterinary was for acupuncture for our Alice. Dr. Flint sat on the floor with Alice and made sure that she was comfortable through the procedure. Dr. Flint and her staff have been absolutely fabulous. I can't say enough about the compassion and care both us and our dogs have had the benefit of. Never once have I felt that I was overcharged, taken advantage of, pushed to have any unnecessary procedures or purchase unnecessary medications and (I can't say that about any other veterinary hospital or clinic I have done business with) . The clinic is clean and welcoming. I admire the way she runs her practice. I truly appreciate Dr. Flint's knowledge, her years of experience and her willingness to share it....would give her 10 stars if I could. read more
