Referred here by a friend after my vet passed away. I dragged my feet in going to a new vet..I was worried how my dog was going to be & if this would work out. We were early so we sat on the waiting room for a bit but they immediately checked us in, and checked on us periodically assuring they'd be with us soon. Once they brought us in, they had a calming sound machine on which I thought was a really thoughtful touch. The nurse and doctor were both very informative and friendly. My dog can be difficult with strangers. At the beginning she would let any of them near her, and would bark. They were so patient and wanted to try a few different techniques in approaching her. The last try was me bringing her back into the exam area and walk away leaving her alone with them. I was so nervous she wasn't going to behave and we'd have to leave. Less than one minute after I left, I heard someone say "what a good girl". Phew. She did great with them, absolutely fantastic. What a relief. To have an anxious dog that acts out and barks when nervous, it was such a relief how they managed her and she reacted so positively. They are incredibly affordable. The clinic is very clean. We have two chubby indoor cats. Both were adult cat shelter adoptions several years ago. They never go out. They are in good health, besides their chub. But they seem to handle that well enough. So we haven't brought them to a vet in several years, since they are generally healthy and happy. And then ... my husband and daughter drove by a 'FREE KITTENS' sign. And everything changed! We recently introduced a little maniac to our feline brood! But before co-mingling everyone, we thought it best to bring them all to the vet. Plus the kitten was going to need regular vet attention, at least until after she's fixed. My parents have brought their dogs to West Side Pet Clinic for many years, and rave about the affordable prices, and kind vets and staff. Even though there are many choices closer to our home, we decided to go with West Side Pet Clinic based on my parents exceptional experience with them. We actually drove my mom and her diabetic dog to an appointment recently, and were able to make our first appointment for our cats directly with the staff then, in person. One big challenge with West Side Pet Clinic--getting through on the phone or an email can be difficult. I am docking a star for that reason. Had we not been there in person, I'm not sure if we would have ever got in, since they never returned any of my phone or email messages. But once you are in, it is great! Our first appointment was just after they loosened some COVID restrictions, and we were able to go in masked, with all three of our felines. Parking is easy, there is a decent sized lot. The clinic is clean, and the room they put our pack in was spacious for three cats, me and my daughter, and the vet and assistant. The vet was very kind, took his time examining each cat, patiently answered all of our questions, and made sure we were clear on next steps. Our cats were very comfortable with this whole experience. Our chubby oldies got updated on their shots, and nails trimmed. Our kitten got her first round of shots too, and has been back for another appointment since then for her next shots. She goes back again in about a month for more shots, and will get fixed at about five months old, which is later this fall. Prices were more affordable than what we have experienced with vets in the past. An appointment with an exam, shots, flea treatment, and a nail trim at our previous vets would have ran over $125+ per cat. Our first visit with all three cats was under $300. We are happy with the value and the quality of care that our cats are receiving at West Side Pet Clinic, and are glad that our crazy kitten is in good hands! :-D read more

I took a cat here who has a peeing problem. She peed everywhere in the waiting room. Which is how the place got its name: "Wet Side Pet Clinic." Or was it "West Side Wet Clinic." Either way. Pee aplenty. This place is a real godsend for people with pets. They will basically check out your pet for free, depending on circumstances. Which other place will do that? So if you're poor and have some fur angels that you want to get checked out, this is the place to come. They're really nice people and will refer you to other vets and surgeons and affordable places if serious stuff is needed. Some of the friendliest people I've dealt with and my little pregnant orange furry girl Starlight really liked them. My friend Joe works here and I didn't even know that before I came here. He's a real sweetheart and congratulations to him on just getting married to a beautiful Yelp girl. I let dominatrix girls (and boys) use a whip on me, but only the left hand portion of my torso. So my right side is scar-free, and my left is covered in scars, because it's my Whip Side. That's how this place got its name actually. "Whip Side Pet Clinic." Kinky b**tards. I think it's amazing that there's a nearly-or-almost free pet clinic. If more people were aware of this place, they'd probably be way more busy. This pet clinic is affordable, efficient, and driven to provide a good customer/pet experience. I t was such a struggle finding a vet when I moved to Buffalo with the COVID circumstances. West side pet clinic was pretty easy to get set up with an appointment. They are doing all of their communication via e-mail and text. I arrived to the appointment and they came out and picked up my pet Mercy took her inside. They stayed in constant communication with me about what was going on with the pet. The vet really took his time explaining his recommendations fully. When it comes to the packages that they offer they are so very affordable. I have compared their prices with more than 10 different pet clinics and none of them where comparable. Random but a moment that I really appreciated was that they asked for my permission before posting my pup to their social media page. We had a very sick kitty with an upper respiratory infection that just wouldn't respond to treatment. We finally had to make the difficult decision to euthanize her, she was getting older, and had no quality of life due to her illness. The staff and veterinarian were absolutely outstanding. But I waited, and happy I did! The staff was wonderful and friendly! It was pets everywhere! But I liked how the staff controlled the entire environment! Dr Seeckles saw Bella and she is very thoughtful and thorough! I was very pleased with the exam and even the bill! My Bella is feeling better but still not her percent self! This pet clinic is great & very affordable. For any first time clients, please drive yourself there or let them know you don't have a car to wait in because, due to Covid, humans stay outside. You'll be communicating with the vet through the crack of a door. There was one woman there that spoke pretty aggressively to me. I'm a little surprised by the amazing reviews to be honest. The prices are fair & the guys at the desk were decent, but the vet tech kept calling my cat "her" (it's a male) and the vet was not only rushed with me but also passed quite a bit of judgement for my use of homeopathic dewormer. She also said my 5 month old kitten may be displaying signs of anxiety and OCD behavior. Given that she was in the room for less than 5 minutes I'm a bit surprised she could put that thought into my head and with a kitten none the less. I really wouldn't go back for any sort of "concerns" or issues. I understand that it's "low cost" and on walk-in basis but I don't feel at all unreasonable in asking for a little more in depth conversation beyond the 5 minutes we got. Perhaps you get what you pay for here... UPDATE: I've seen Dr. Coleman now twice and he's FANTASTIC. Due to needing more immediate care for two different situations for my dogs, I had to give them another go and have to say that I was thrilled Dr. Coleman saw us and I'll follow him wherever he works from now on. read more

My experiences with the west side pet clinic has and is still excellent. All the employees really are animal lovers . i have a minpin and she is usually very very fiesty and the staff treated her like she was there dog. Being so upset about not knowing what was wrong with her , and with an unexpected severe limp , the staff calmed and reassured me that they would take care of my Coco, no matter what the results were. I have a very old, frequently sick cat and after reading all the great reviews about this place I thought I'd give it a try. I wanted a second opinion after visiting another vet and Dr. Sickles was so comforting during the exam. She told me exactly what she saw, holding nothing back, and I appreciate that so much. It's hard to find a vet that you can trust and I never once doubted anything she said. She also didn't speak to me like I was an idiot. That's always a plus. The staff was so sweet and caring. And I was able to watch the live feed of their waiting room to make sure there were no dogs to freak out my already stressed cat. I really can't think of anything bad to say. It was a real treat to find a vet I can trust and at such reasonable prices. I'm definitely coming back and recommending it to everyone I know. read more

After adopting two cats, I asked the foster which vet to use and she recommended West Side Pet Clinic. I really liked the fact that you don't need an appointment, as walk ins are welcome. One of my kitties I suspected to have an upper respiratory infection. The wait was short and the vet was very friendly and knowledgeable. They looked her over, started her on some medications and sent me on my way. Pricing was very reasonable. I'm glad I was able to get her in and hopefully she will be on the mend soon! This place is great! The prices are reasonable and they are eager to help. The vets are very good with the animals. They do not take appointments, it is all walk ins. The waiting room can get pretty full, especially as more people find out about the place. Their website has a lobby cam that provides live feed of the lobby, so you can check how busy it is before going. It can also be difficult to call and get through to someone, so I recommend emailing, as you will receive answers quicker this way. Their hours are a little hard to accommodate if you have a 9-5 day job. They used to be open o Saturday's, but no longer are. Saturdays were extremely convenient and I hope they add to their hours in the near future. Despite the place being busy, this is a great place! The employees work hard and truly care. I had a very sick cat and didn't know what to do. I was recommended here by some on on Reddit and I don't know what I would have done without them. The person who answered the phone was very understanding of my situation and told me that I didn't even need an appointment, that I could just bring her in whenever I could. I showed up and they immediately brought us into a room, examined her, and told me what could be the matter. They were professional, yet compassionate and kept telling my cat that she was super cute (which, she is). In the end, they were able to meet my budget and help my cat. Caring and knowledgeable staff, affordable services, and available appointments on Saturdays on top of walk-ins that are updated regularly on their website. Their lobby cam on the site is great before doing a walk-in to gauge how busy they are. I regularly take my two cats to get their nails trimmed here (doing it on my own is a lengthy endeavor) as well as yearly exams. I appreciate their candor and bedside manner when giving me the run down of my fur babies. Somestimes they have free bags of cat and/or dog treats at the counter to take when checking out. I've brought my puppy here since I've had him in August '15. Dr. Sickels has always been amazing. Given I am my dog is my very first pet she always offers suggestions on minor behavioral issues and never pushes for me to pay for any expensive and unnecessary treatments. Rather than prescribing an expensive allergy medication, she suggested I purchase benedryl from my local store to alleviate itching (and it worked). I never feel rushed, especially when they aren't too busy, and am always satisfied with my care. My dog is also a brat and they are always patient with him. This is only a clinic so they do not offer spay/neuter services but they are familiar with other facilities that can offer these services for a low cost. read more

I recently took my dogs in for an annual visit. It is a very nice clinic, very clean and I love the fact that they take walk-ins. It is much more affordable than other places. But the hospitality could use some practice. The receptionist and vet tech were very polite. But as for Dr. Sickels; I've dealt with her at the Ellicott street location. She was always very nice then. But, on this visit she was very dry and a bit dismissive. Maybe a bad day? I don't know. But I am still satisfied with the medical service I got. read more

I brought my Pit Bull in he was limping and his foot was swollen he also had loss of appetite & weight loss. I couldn't of been happier with the care. I would recommend to any animal owner that may not have the funds to go to an expensive vet to go here. The price was awesome he got antibiotics & pain medication with an inflammatory plus exam for a little under $100.00. The staff was awesome I will be taking both my dogs here on a regular basis for all their needs.
