Before my daughter's pulmonology appointment, I decided we needed brunch. What better place in Lubbock, Texas, than Snooze, an A.M. Eatery? There were tons of young parents with their babies and toddlers in here at about 1 pm. The strawberry lavender lemonade was not what I originally wanted, but it was okay ($6.50). My daughter's Strawberry Shortcake Dirty Soda ($3.95) was absolutely delicious. For food, oddly we both gravitated to the "Bennys: The Art of Hollandaise." While it wasn't the best hollandaise sauce I have ever tried, it was good on the "Smashed Avocado Benny" ($16.50). My daughter ate almost all of her "Bella Bella Benny" ($15.25) which came with prosciutto she loved. Both plates were served with house hash browns that were cooked just right and not too greasy. Sunday mornings are super busy but the wait went quickly plus our party had 6 so I'm sure larger parties are harder to sit when it's busy. I love that they have a coffee and water station with cups in the waiting area so you can have some while you wait. All the staff there have smiles ear to ear and I love that most have fun inspirational sayings on their shirts. Our waiter was the sweetest and stayed on top of everything although it was so busy so you can tell they're used to the chaos. The food came out fairly quick and very tasty but for the picky eaters their dishes may be too much for them like my guys. Since I love flavors I absolutely loved my garden omelette and salad. They paired so well together. My son devoured the burrito so I know he loved it but he prefers a simple breakfast taco. Their burrito is enormous and is meant to be eaten with a knife and fork. Of course, he still ate it with his hands. All the portions are huge. The cinnamon roll pancakes were fluffy and delicious but the caramel sauce threw it off and doesn't give a cinnamon roll taste but they were still delicious! I was so excited when I accidentally came upon a Snooze in Lubbock, Texas. I am originally from Denver where Snooze was a standard go-to and a go-to anytime back in Denver. I had no idea they had expanded into other states! It was almost closing time when I arrived and I really just wanted a BLT. I sat at the bar and the bartender was so sweet to special order me a BLT except with spinach. They don't normally carry "lettuce". She brought the sandwich to me with a honey mustard sauce as they also normally do not carry mayonnaise however, she was able to go into the back and find me a cup of mayonnaise to go with it as well. This sandwich was so delicious and along with their bloody Mary. I was a happy girl. Anything that reminds me of my beloved Denver. I am in and Snooze is no exception! I was in Lubbock last weekend helping my college student move out of his dorm, which means--naturally--the city is absolutely packed- and it was Mothers Fay! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by Sutton, who I can only describe as the most joyful, kind-hearted, energetic, and genuinely welcoming hostess I've ever met. She informed me there would be a 30-minute wait, but her enthusiasm and warmth made me feel like it was going to be worth every second. The food was phenomenal, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was perfect As I looked around, everyone--kids, families, adults--seemed to be enjoying their breakfast just as much as I was. There was a happy buzz in the room I'm now a full-fledged Snooze fan and will absolutely be returning. I went a couple days ago and our absolute diva of a waitress, Dina I believe, ate the fuck down. She was the waitress with the cool pins and made the entire experience enjoyable. It was such a lovely meal and on top of that, we got another pancake with SPRINKLES and BUTTERCREAM FROSTING. The restaurant seating and menu is pretty much the same as other Snooze locations that I have been to in Austin. Pancakes are huge and delicious. They even have seasonal pancakes flavors and different pancakes of the week so there's always something new to try. Soo many great egg-related dishes options as well.
