I ate here yesterday with my daughter. As it was a Tuesday and we didn't get there til 10:30ish there was no line up, we were sat straight away. It was still busy though with tables not empty for more than a few minutes. Service was good and our food came out quickly. Enormous portions. I ordered the 'build your own' and had 2 eggs, bacon, home fries and grilled tomato. There was a pile of potato and about 6 rashers of bacon, plus the tomato was sliced and grilled right through, not cut in half and just warm. I loved it! My daughter had 2 eggs, sausage, pancake and toast. The pancake was light and fluffy and the sausages were delicious. We paid $32 plus a tip so it's not a cheap breakfast but it's so worth the money that we will definitely be going back!! read more

I absolutely love local breakfast joints, and this one is quite possibly the best in Brampton, if not the entire GTA. Anyways, the main reason I love Flips besides the awesomeness of the food is because they actually have healthy choices available along with the traditional greasy breakfast fair. The pancakes are amazing (I always get them) but they also have steak and eggs, bacon and eggs, waffles, omelettes and just about any breakfast type food out there. They have a disclaimer on the menu about using a very hot grill to cook the food instead of oil - and that makes me feel even better about eating there. The only have two minor issues (and believe me they are minor): 1. its a bit pricey, the bill is always around $30 for two...it my book that's excessive for breakfast especially considering the fact that you can get bacon and eggs for around $5 at other joints in Brampton...but then again breakfast is the "most important meal of the day" so I guess its worth the slurge every once in a while 2. they close at 4 pm...and I wish this was an all day breakfast place instead because sometimes I do want pancakes for dinner... read more

I'm going to give them 2 because the food is okay. The owners are horribly ignorant men who work their employees like dogs and do everything they can to skim money. While working there they twice didn't give me my money on time. An employee who had given them years of service wanted to move on to better his life as who even wants to be in a kitchen forever unless you make good money. They refused to give him the days off needed for weeks as they did not want to train someone new. When there is trouble in the front of house the owners/managers absolutely refuse to go out and deal with it and would rather put 15 year old girls in uncomfortable situations. This place serves your regular breakfast food, with a side of really bad attitude. I've been twice and def won't go again after my most recent experience. First the good - the food. Big portions, nice home fries, amazing soft Belgian waffle. Price wise it is just ok and not a steal of a deal. The bad - in this day and age, they only take cash. So if you don't know you'll be forced to use their ATM machine which charges a $2 fee plus ur own bank's fees; ridiculous. Why don't they offer free debit/interac like the rest of the world??? Just cheap unnecessary cost saving measures. Also the restaurant is very small, seating is cramped so you will almost surely wait to be seated and then be sitting elbow to elbow with strangers. The UGLY - the day I went there was a manager onsite named Chris. I had ordered one of their specials that came with eggs one meat home fries and a belgian waffle. First I asked to split my meat eg half bacon, half sausage. They said no. I was miffed but ok whatever I went with sausage. Then I asked for my waffle to be made & brought out later, after I was done eating my savoury stuff (so it would be fresh and not get cold sitting on my plate). The waitress informed me that per Chris they could not do this. Could not? Or WOULD not? SO confused, I asked then spoke to their manager Chris who very rudely informed me that they refused to hold my waffle order til later (ie could have but would not) bcuz they were "too busy" and refused to heat up my waffle if it did get cold after they brought it out the same time as my savory food. When I voiced my dissatisfaction with Chris' answer he then suggested I just order my savoury food first then place a second separate order for the waffle by itself, which would have cost me almost double the price of the breakfast special!! I pointed this out to Chris and he refused to give me the breakfast special pricing and instead told me I didnt have to eat there. I was soooo shocked! I said you're right Chris, I don't and I left immediately. Never again!!! Just bad customer service for NO apparent reason. read more

Flips is like a cornerstone of Brampton, as in, on the 7th day, God created the Flips. Flips is a tiny place with maybe 20 tables, always a line up and nary a bad choice on the menu. For $10.95, you can get 2 eggs, toast, home fries, bacon and a chocolate chip pancake. Like, for reals. Everyone I knew in highschool worked here at one time or another. The staff are all under 16, for sure, and super cheerful 'cause they're not jaded work-force drones yet. If you hire over 18, that's what you get. See? Deductive reasoning. But anyway, they offer substitutes like egg whites, various kinds of toast and healthier sides, like grilled tomatoes, etc. The only annoying things are this; 1) The lineup and the fact that there is approximately 1 sq. ft. for people to wait in. 2) No debit or credit. They have an ATM which costs your first born to withdraw money, though. So, cool. 3) The service is slow, because every one who works there is busy being cheerful. Love Flips! This restaurant does make good food but it is very costly, unfortunately the staff is mostly young girls some still in school others trying to make a living. Their shifts are changed from day to day without notifying the girls, they go in to work and are told to leave. The management treats these girls horribly, they take 3% of their tips & 3% of their wage for what...who knows. Also if a customer pays by either credit card or interac and the waitress loses her copy of the slip the management makes them pay the whole bill including the tip even though they can do a reprint of the receipt so not only is the waitress losing her tip twice she is paying for something the restaurant has already been paid for. They also refuse to give pay stubs so the staff don't know what is being deducted or if they are paying taxes or EI or cpp. If you must eat there please pay in cash.... read more

I'm at Flips once if not twice a week, because the food is awesome. The portions are huge, and the pricing is very reasonable. I usually have the breakfast, either bacon and eggs or the light breakfast. The price is amazing for both, and sometimes you even get a free pancake! Love it there :-) read more

Excellent food with consistent service. I've never seen the place empty and for good reason, this greasy spoon diner is a Brampton breakfast/brunch hotspot. From the eggs to the pancakes, they've got it down. My only complaints are they don't take debit and overcharge for orange juice. I am very disappointed...be aware!!! THEY SERVE REHEATED FOOD! I was completely disgusted today when I ordered a Belgian waffle and sausage breakfast! What showed up was a cold burnt waffle that wouldn't melt butter, It looked like it was fried on the grill to reheat, 3 dried up sausages and an old chocolate chip pancake- that's it on an oversized plate! It looked awful and smelled like grill grease. All this for almost 8 bucks! Not including $2 coffee! I refused the order, pointed out all that I was displeased with it and the waitress took back the plate... She did come back to say that the cook was making a fresh waffle for me and it would be a 5 minute wait. After a quick chat, she he agreed that this could have been a leftover or refuse from a previous order, but please don't tell anyone that she said anything- --nice eh, even the help knows its wrong! What stopped me from walking out at that point was the fact that the previous week I was in there and ordered a light breakfast and aside from the overcooked bacon, (and $$pricey) I was pleased with the portion and the presentation. So pleased that I called a friend and boasted about how good it was and we would come back today with her. After 5 minutes my waffle arrived. Shocking--It looked even darker than before, just hot enough to melt butter a little and the sausages looked dried out.. It was the original waffle, IT WAS HORRIBLE LOOKING (CRUSTY) AND SMELLED LIKE BURNT GREASE! It wasn't a new waffle like I was promised it was the old one refried again. I called the waitress over and refused to eat and pay for this crap! I also told the waitress to tell the chef that I was no fool and if he has an issue he can speak with me directly! During all this my breakfast guest was sharing her eggs, bacon & home fries/toast with me- Bacon overcooked(porky tasting and salty as sin), I asked for my guests bill and while I was paying, the waitress offering up apologies and no sign of the manager or chef. I was so surprised to see that after my horrible experience, they still charged me $2 for a coffee. Although the coffee was good! Look everyone make mistakes! Bad employees, off days etc., but when you deliberately and knowingly do this, get caught, try it again, get caught again and management, chef hides in the back and lets the waitress take all the heat, I can't roll over on this issue. Hey this is our go-to place for breakfast on the weekend. It is busy so you will have to wait a bit. The food is fresh, the portions are big, and the service quick. We enjoy breaking our fast at Flips. The prices are reasonable, and the coffee is good. Ask for the potatoes to be well done they are really good when they are crispy. I don't know where they get their bacon, but the slices are thick and salty and wonderful. If only they had farmer sausages... Anyway, the pancakes are great too. read more

Unfortunately I just read the review I made and I was at your restaurant again 2 days ago and everything was good. Seeing your reply I realized that you probably should not be in this industry considering how you talk to people who are criticizing you for something that is very displeasing. You think or made a comment that only for a hair or just for a hair I made a big thing out of it online. I wonder how you would feel if you had hair in your food. I can understand you getting upset but you have to understand why these types of apps exist. They keep the restaurants and other businesses on their toes. You certainly didn't mind my business for the past six years prior to that incident. And yes I made a comment about how an elderly gentleman the same time I was in the in the restaurant was handled by one of your staff. Like I said you can get upset all you want but people have the right to make a comment. If I have seen your review before I went back in with my sister and her husband a couple days ago I definitely would have had something to say. If nothing else you should try and change how things are handled including food in your establishment. But to try and belittle me and make it sound like I'm lying it's just ridiculous. It just shows what your character is like. I'm not impressed but I am definitely talking to others and by the way just to let you know when I was talking to some of my colleagues they too expressed a few incidents that happened so maybe you really do need to pay attention a little more. Really a 3.5 star, but I'll err on the side if 4. You can pay with only cash or debit. Order at the counter, grab you number card and then seat yourself. Prices were a little steeper than some places, except for the standard breakfast which is a good deal. Note that prices are more expensive on the weekends vs weekdays. The photos of prices on yelp are now outdated. It was very busy, but service was reasonably fast and turn over was quick, so seats come available. The staff do a good job of keeping the tables clean and in order. You can shift the tables around to seat 2 or 4 or more. I was looking for strawberry pancakes so I thought I would try this place. I liked that I could order by just picking my sides. I ordered 2 sides: pancakes with strawberries, and the fruit. It came to +$11 after tax. I thought the strawberries would be mixed in with the batter, but they were just places on top. The side of fruit comes with strawberries, so you could probably get away with just ordering the plain pancake with fresh fruit and use those strawberries for the same result; if you want just a light breakfast. You get one biggish pancake which is tasty and hot with the perfect amount of crispness. The fruit was good and a reasonable portion. Overall food was good and I was satisfied. read more

SO DISAPPOINTED. I've frequented this popular brunch place for years and they recently changed their order system. I recently dined with my boyfriend and his mom. You come in and line up to place an order like in a fast food chain because they have digital cash registers already. Then they give you an order number. Our breakfast came out to a total of about $50. Then they leave it to you to find your own table in such a small and crowded restaurant, which means if the place is full and you decided to dine in, you're going to have to wait till someone leaves (in our case, it wasn't busy anymore). The place wasn't even busy but there were so many dirty tables. We had to ask a cashier to clean our table for us. We had to wait 35 MINUTES for our food because the cooks were not used to the amount of fast orders coming their way. On top of that, your hot beverages and bread spreads are all self- serve now. The place just wanted fast customer turnover and totally neglected quality customer service. By the time we left, there were familiesdining in, scrambling for a free table. The whole experience was just very disappointing. This will be my last visit to this establishment. read more

Just went to Flips for the first time this week and I was VERY impressed!! Lots of flexibility in the menu and in choosing exactly what YOU want to eat. High quality, generous servings, tasty food. Love the fresh fruit option! It's a busy, crowded place. That can make some people grumpy. But you can just use it as an opportunity to be friendly and get to know the people at the next table. NOT AT ALL WHAT ITS CRACKED UP TO SEEM! servers are nice, but severely undertrained by a CHEF who doesn't even where a hat, let alone a HAIRNET! My girlfriend and I went and ordered the my breakfast with homefries scrambled egg bacon and toast. After waiting 20 mins, as soon as my girls plate hit the table, BANG! A thick juicy HAIR. We both were disgusted we sent it back and waited again. After another 20 mins, throughout that time, myself just watching the chef and his other cook, nastily staring back at me. I'm a chef in this business, actually working down the street from there, and to see such lack of standards, regardless of being as old as they are, its shameful! So we get the re fire, my girls is fine, but immediately I take my knife, and pull another JUICY FAT UGLY HAIR, before the server could even leave. I showed her and told her you need to talk to your chefs about wearing something on their heads, because this is embarrassing. So she takes it, they recook another plate for the third time. I told my girl to eat because she already suffered, but the server says " this was made FRESH by our chefs...." I turned around and then told her, so then what is everyone else eating, if this was fresh......... Garbage service! Place wasn't even packed when we went in Sunday morning. We stood at the front for a bit until I asked if it's self seating but the employee said no and they would clear off one of the available tables. A few were clean. We continued standing there waiting while some of the employees hung out at the counter without acknowledging us or seating us....got fed up after 10-15 minutes without being acknowledged and left for good! Lesson learned: avoid Flips due to lack of training & customer service skills plus to make my own breakfast from now on (or Denny's). read more

This place is very over rated and over priced! The food was good, but considering they're a breakfast place, the options are limited. We paid $3 for a small bottle of apple juice! We usually spend $45 for breakfast for our family of 4. We ordered the exact same items that we order at any other breakfast place we visit and our bill came to $66. Seating is very cramped. You're practically bumping elbows with the people at the next table. Wait staff was having to squeeze in between diners to service other customers. There's no waiting area, so if you're seated in the outside boarder, be prepared to eat with people standing over you, as they have nowhere else to go. We'll never go back here. While the food was good and the portions were generous, it really wasn't worth the hefty price and being packed like sardines into a small space wasn't an enjoyable experience. read more

When first approached the table all she said was "hi" nothing else. My boyfriend and i sat awkwardly waiting for her to ask us either "how are you doing?" or maybe even "what can i get you to drink". instead she just looked at us, so i asked her how she was doing because it's just common decency, then i ordered my drinks. It was very dead and 2 servers on, so we were confused as to why she wasn't doing better. Probably pool tips because she clearly didn't care; a smile doesn't make up for bad service. My friends and i have been going there for years. The breakfast is as good as everyone says. They changed from servers to placing your order at the counter and they bring you the food.
