My friend and I used flixbus to go from Everett, WA to Vancouver BC in December. I don't recall the driver's name but he sort of looked like, acted like, and sounded like Ned Flanders from The Simpsons. He wasn't too friendly as I didn't like how he scolded my friend and I for taking too long to get inside the bus after he checked our passports outside to get in. (It was raining so I had to take time to carefully put my partially wet passport back and close my large umbrella before going inside) I didn't feel 100% safe with the driver's driving in heavy rain. On the highway, he drove a little bit faster than i felt was necessary, and he drove a little too close near other cars. As for the bus stop area, Some things i wish Flixbus did was provide a place with shelter and seats for times the rain was pouring. There was only a sign post at the Everett bus stop. The weather was terrible and my friend and I had to stand in the pouring rain and string winds without any shelter for 15 minutes. Second, the instructions for the meeting place was unclear. There should be a real picture of the actual meeting place to reference instead of words or street names and a confusing description of the area. I was so lost. I had to ask the transit office to point me in the right direction after I wandered around aimlessly for 15 minutes looking for the flixbus bus stop. Flixbus provides free wifi. The free wifi was terrible for YouTube video streaming but it was ok for web surfing and such. On a positive note, the timing of arrival and departure was timely and there were no issues that negatively impacted my trip in a big way. Overall, Ill give it 3/5 stars based on this trip. Would i go on flixbus again? Yes, but it would always be my second choice to amtrak train. Also, right now, theres no other real convenient and affordable choices in terms of shuttle busses that travel from Seattle to Vancouver BC. read more

I'm posting this review only because I hope it might be helpful for anyone who loses an item on a FlixBus in the future. The short story is, if this happens to you, go ahead and report the lost item to FlixBus. But also immediately call them and find out which local company operates the bus you were on, and call them directly as soon as possible. Do not rely on FlixBus to find your item!! Long story - my daughter forgot her suitcase in the cargo hold after traveling from Seattle to Portland. She reported it to FlixBus right away, and the system told her to keep checking back, and it could take up to two weeks. She checked every day, and about a week later it said the suitcase was found (yay!), and to please wait for an email to tell her how to get it. That email never came, and she finally called and talked to an unhelpful human who at least gave her the name of the local bus company (ecoShuttle in Sherwood). Unfortunately, it had been two weeks by then, and they had no idea who had found it, or who had logged it as found, or what eventually happened to it. Very frustrating to think that if we had just been told by FlixBus to contact ecoShuttle directly right away, we might have recovered it. Learn from our loss, and don't trust the FlixBus lost and found system! read more

FlixBus is the successor to BoltBus. It has a similar operating model in which you buy tickets online. Unlike BoltBus, FlixBus has a number of different locations in the Seattle area including Sea-Tac Airport and University of Washington, so you don't have to trek to the International District if you have a bus stop closer to your location. It also has more destinations to choose from as you can travel not only from Seattle to Portland or Vancouver, but also to Eastern Washington. I took a trip to Portland on FlixBus. Their station in the International District is located at 6th Ave South & South Lane Street, which is across from Uwajimaya. The bus operates similar to FlixBus, though they have more extra options like choosing your seat and paying for heavier baggage. Like BoltBus, buses have power plugs and free Wi-Fi. The pricing model is consistently priced as opposed to BoltBus in which you could save by buying early. My bus ride to Portland was smooth and without incident. Based on my experience, I would consider taking FlixBus again if the price and schedule meet my needs. read more

Caught a Flix Bus from Seattle to Vancouver; Seattle Bus Station is pretty bare bones and the staff wasn't the most friendly, but we weren't experiencing a luxury experience. Bus station could be cleaner, but boarding was quick and easy. The bus was clean, though the bathroom was a little sketchy and needed some maintenance and a deep clean (toilet paper dispenser broken, door lock was wonky, out of hand sanitizer). Seats were comfy but WiFi wasn't available. Bus driver had some issues with people who didn't realize there was assigned seating, but that wasn't his problem. Overall, a solid experience! read more

An hour after the bus broke down we received news a replacement bus was coming from Portland... another 2 hours wait! Used this to travel to Portland. Last minute tickets were more expensive than they should have been (pricier than Amtrak normally is! But the train was sold out) at almost $50 per person, and for some reason my child's ticket was $1 more than mine, but the bus was decent. On the way there, the bus driver was great about verbalizing some strict rules about people using headphones and not being inebriated on the bus. We ran late getting in (the arrival time seemed extremely optimistic for rush hour traffic), but the drive was smooth and the bathroom was clean even with a packed bus. The station where you get on in Seattle is the old Greyhound area. Bathrooms there are also clean, but the station itself is kind of dingy. Some room for temporary parking if you're getting dropped off. Line up inside, not outside by the bus loading area! On the way back, it was a little confusing getting the bus at Portland because it wasn't labeled Flixbus but something else entirely, so I'd be aware of that. The bus driver did help us with our bags. The buses do have proper seatbelts that go over your shoulder, not just around your waist. Outlets for charging did work. There were legrests and some small luggage storage overhead. read more

I booked a direct trip from Bellingham to Portland with FlixBus. Two days before departure, they cancelled and rebooked me on a longer route with a 2.5-hour layover in Seattle. When I arrived in Seattle, the connecting bus was cancelled at 10:49 PM with only one minute's notice. No rebooking, no support line to call, and no public transit running at that hour. I was stranded overnight in an unsafe area and had to pay $261 out of pocket (hotel, Lyft, airfare) just to get to Portland. FlixBus has refused to reimburse more than $80 despite their cancellation being the direct cause. I've been bounced between six different reps with no resolution. Unreliable, unsafe, and unwilling to take responsibility. If you need to get where you're going, don't count on FlixBus. read more

Only chat available to try and resolve and they said to contact the carrier then proceeded to send me links to bus companies in the Midwest and east coast. I'm west coast. WORST bus service. I dont even understand how or why theyr'e around in all honesty. I've experienced over 3 cancelations by them, and they have refunded the card the tickets were paid from. MEANWHILE, if the client cancels, they refuse the refund the card and only provide credit; I guess for some reason they think the client will want to come back. If the client is unhappy with your services, why would they want to ever want to come back? Completely hypocritical when they say "we cannot refund to your card. It's our policy." when clearly there is evidence they have the capability, but choose not to DO NOT waste your time with this service. Unreliable, especially during holidays, concerts, and game days. I travel a lot. After I discovered Flixbus a few years ago, I started spending extra time trying to arrange flights that would allow me to take Flixbus from Olympia to SeaTac airport. It was easier than driving and parking, the drivers are friendly, and the bus was reliable. Not any more. Only once prior to this situation was there an issue, which I can no longer even remember, and it was no problem to get a credit from Flixbus for a future ride. This time, they screwed up big time and won't do anything about it. Whatever happened to doing "the right thing?" I guess they never heard about that. Or customer care. On December 2, not so long ago, I was at the bus stop in Olympia for my 9:00am departure. I started talking with another person waiting for the same bus. People started arriving for the same bus, and then we noticed them looking at their watches. It was already 9:05am. We checked the app and online. Online it had 9:00am lined out and a new departure time of 9:05am. Five minutes; no sweat. Then it was 9:10... 9:15... 9:20... 9:45.... At 9:45 we looked at each other and decided that we could wait no longer. My flight departure was 12:10pm. I had to check a bag, which I almost never do, which meant I had to drop it off no later than 60 minutes before: 11:10. The buss ride is typically around 1:10 - 1:15 from Olympia to SeaTac, after a brief stop in Tacoma. I could not risk missing the bag cutoff. The other fellow was having similar concerns. I ordered up an Uber. $150 to the airport, plus a $20 tip. BIG difference between Uber and Flixbus, but I had no choice. I could not wait. I later learned that the bus actually departed Olympia at 10:10am. I would have had no way to drop of my suitcase, and I might have missed the flight. With all the technology in today's world, it's a wonder that Flixbus doesn't tell you anything when they are late. Showing a 5-minute-late departure is useless and was incorrect. As of 9:45am, when we gave up, there was nothing online other than the 5-minute-late departure time of 9:05am, and it was already 9:45am. What's wrong with this picture? Got to the airport and everything else went fine. When I got home after the trip, I decided to ask for a credit due to the problem that they had with the seriously delayed departure which resulted in my inability to take the bus. You just TRY to speak with a human at Flixbus. Impossible! They only want you to text/email with their people in Asia. First, I was connected with a name that said it was AI. So, I assume it was a computer I was communicating with via chat. It kept talking about refusing my request for a refund, which I had not mentioned. I said credit for a future ride, owing to their inability to provide the service. Again, credit towards a future ride. Not refund. It went nowhere, and finally it said that since the bus was less than 120 minutes late, no refund would be offered. Refund? 120 minutes???? I continued trying to find a person with whom I could speak, but that's not possible. I was able to send emails to (I think) a real human (in India, I presume, because of the name). Same answer. Less than 120 minutes late, nothing they will do. THREE TIMES I emailed with someone and THREE TIMES they refused to give a refund (again, I asked for CREDIT) and THREE TIMES they said no refund under 120 minutes late. SHAME ON FLIXBUS. If this is your policy, IT STINKS. If you won't let people know when the bus is late, IT STINKS. (Remember, at 9:45am, the only info available from the app said departure time would be 9:05am. Huh?) If you don't offer a credit and just steal people's money when you don't provide the service, IT STINKS. I did mention in the last email chain that I would likely write about the horrible experience and post online, so that other people will be cautious of the horrible service and some will stop using Flixbus entirely. Several of my friends have already said they will no longer use Flixbus. They don't want to support such a bad operation that cares nothing for its customers. I am sure that others will read this and stop using Flixbus, too. It would have been the RIGHT thing to offer a credit, but this will cost Flixbus much more than a credit of $15.48, which they SHOULD have offered. The people never even listened; only said no refund, which I never asked for. 120 minutes delay? Really? To an airport? You think that's OK? I think not. The website/app is the kind with no human interaction and maximized runaround and dead links to make you give up on refund vouchers. No cash refunds when I cancelled last time and the voucher expired before I could use it. Today it took me 20 minutes to find a partial refund for a trip they cancelled at the last second with the excuse of high winds. Outlets did NOT work on one bus. Not one, but two twenty four hours delays without any sorry or anything for our trouble. They skipped our snack and smoke breaks to hurry and were still way late both times. They just didn't care about the riders at all. I would FLY INSTEAD. This place tonight even locked the bathrooms. They were absolutely no help when it came to trying to figure out my canceled bus and just started chatting between themselves. One púlled up ten minutes ago and disgorged passengers, but when the European tourists asked if it was taking us to Portland the gnomish driver held up a finger like he was trying to assess the direction of the wind, got back onto the empty bus, and drove away without saying a word. UPDATE: Finally on the bus (good). Wi-Fi is not working (bad) UPDATE: The bus driver on this bus is extremely kind and did apologize, even though nothing is her fault--it's Flix, for not having backup drivers and buses for situations where buses get delayed. Says because I cancelled the return leg, I can't get a full refund. So read the fine print, though they sent me a link and the title was for after the entire trip time but as you read it was written to start 3 days before. Sketchy. I've read about cancellations, bus arriving late, arriving EARLY and leaving you with no ride. Sadly, train and other buses (Flix & Amtrak buses are the same co.) also have poor reviews. read more

First time trying to use this service and definitely the last. I paid extra to reserve specific seats, and while scrolling down to the "finish" button, I must have hit a different seat accidentally and ended up with two seats on opposite ends of the bus. I opened "manage my booking" to cancel the accidental seat, but it didn't give me the option to pick a new seat, it just assigned another random seat I didn't want. Under their FAQs, it was stated that in case of a mistake, you can make changes within 60 minutes of booking without fees, so I opened a customer service chat ASAP. The agent said it was "impossible" to give me the seat I wanted despite there being nearly no other reserved seats on the bus. They said me cancelling the unwanted seat counted as a "change" and you can only change one time. I escalated this to email customer service, who gave me the same answer. Mind you this is all within an hour of booking! I escalated this email to a second agent, who told me I could contact a third agent and get the $8 fee refunded, but still wouldn't let me reserve the seat I wanted. At this point, I wanted to cancel my entire trip with them. I put in a phone call to customer service where the agent repeatedly cut me off and told me they couldn't help without even knowing my problem or booking number. Worst experience ever! My family tried to save a few bucks and it ended up costing double!! I was told by the bus driver there was no possibility of me catching my transfer bus and it would be up to the next driver "if" I was even allowed to board the next bus. even thou one of their employees said this I still wasn given a refun. I'm 5'2, female and 110lb sopping wet. My transfer was "curbside". After explaining this all to customer service I was told there are absolutely no transfer, adjustments or rescheduling. The driver's seatbelt sensor was beeping the entire trip. It was so annoying. Could not concentrate on work. Could not rest. So frustrating. We should not have to hear that. The driver told me that it has been like that for multiple weeks. Why isn't Flix Bus repairing it?? Driver said that if it's not a direct "safety" issue then repair is not prioritized. But I would argue that it is a safety issue. The driver mentioned that he doesn't notice other sensors because this one is going off continuously. So what is he missing? Took the flix bus from olympia to seatac. I was worried like, anyone else, about it being on time. Got to olympia 10 minutes late but it's coming from Portland so not bad. Stops in Tacoma for like 5 minutes. Overall it was 30 minutes late from its original arrival time. Clean, yes. Comfortable, yes, I had empty seats around me. The bus drives exactly 60 mph on the freeway but some classic rock and some earbuds, not bad. It drops you off at the far end of the airport so if you're alaska, you got a walk ahead of you. read more

I was driving home today when one of their buses tried to merge into me. Not on accident because he clearly saw me, but tried to crowd me out of the lane. Their customer service won't let you leave feedback without a booking number so this seems like my only option. After witnessing their unsafe behavior there's no way I'd ride one of their busses. I ended up going the other way and let her know early when we were on the way and she took me an hr and a half the wrong way and told me I needed to find my own way back. My son was using FlixBus to go back and forth between school in Bellingham and Seattle every few weeks. It was great until they increased prices and decreased their reliability. My experience makes me advise people to think twice if they want to take FlixBus. The Bus from SeaTac Airport to Portland, Oregon on a Tuesday was 52 minutes late to pick up passengers. The 3-hour Bus ride was scheduled 1:35 - 4:35 p.m. Nevertheless, the Bus dropped many passengers at Tacoma, and also picked up many passengers there. The 3-hour schedule was definitely fraudulent, and deceitful to the paying customers because it is impossible to complete the trip in 3 hours with a stop at Tacoma. Flix Bus intentionally and willfully lied to its paying customers. The fraudulent and bad-faith stop at Tacoma made the Bus hit the rush hours in Portland. It arrived at 6:07 p.m. instead of 4:35 p.m. Even though I ordered a ride immediately, with the rush hours, I was still very late for my 6:30 p.m. dinner reservation, which made other people mad at me. I had a no-smile-from-others dinner at a famous restaurant. FlixBus really gave me an extremely bad experience. read more

I am sure it was due to a blocker at my place of work but the app gave no indication there was a problem and created a lot of frustration. 2) your website would lead me to believe you have no pick up at SeaTac airport; Seattle is not listed as an airport location. 3) you ticket said 12:10. At 12:00 your app said 12:40. In fact, the bus appeared at 12:20. 4) the bus was not marked as FlixBus. Had the driver not shouted, I would have ignored it. Just took Flixbus from Seattle to Vancouver, and that bus was late picking us up so late getting us to Vancouver. I had a return ticket from Vancouver to Seattle with a departure time of 945AM which they changed to 915AM but didn't let me know until the morning of my departure. I got an email at 7:18AM with a new departure time of 915AM, consequently causing me to miss the bus and therefore miss my flight in Seattle. No help, no refund, very poor customer service. I chose flixbus because it seemed like a practical way to travel from Seattle to Portland. When I bought my round trip ticket, the ticket guaranteed wifi and outlets for charging. Not only did the bus arrive 50 minutes late (causing me to miss a meeting that I was going to take on the bus) but the bus actually didn't have wifi or charging, so I wasn't able to work to begin with. On top of this, i downloaded the app because I thought it would make the process smoother, little did I know, the address that can be copied from the app is a different address than the website tells you to arrive at, this caused me to miss my trip back from Portland and have to spend an extra $60 on a return ticket, of course flixbus would NOT REFUND me for either of these tickets, even though their APP DISPLAYS THE WRONG ADDRESS. Please use flixbus if you are okay with terrible customer service, regularly late buses, and inaccurate information posted on the site. STAY AWAY if you are expecting wifi or charging on the bus, this is something they post on the site to get people to buy tickets (they truly don't care if you miss work or can't work). They do not care that they are spreading false information for the betterment of their own business and they will not refund you even when they are wrong. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY, spend it on a bus service that values your customer experience! Flixbus refuses to refund the 1st ticket claiming I didn't wait 2 hours for the 2:45 to show up. I took the bus from Olympia to SeaTac Airport. The bus showed up on time at the 76 gas station near Jimmy Johns. The driver checked our tickets, but the QR function was not used. It was Labor Day and the bus was mostly empty. The driver drove safely and comfortably. Our bags were stored below the cabin for free. I think they charge extra for additional bags beyond one piece of luggage and backpack / purse. We stopped in Tacoma, then onward to the airport. This is a much needed service for Olympia. It was about 10% the cost of an Uber. Highly recommend using this public (not technically) transportation option. read more

Allowed people to block a second seat with carryon luggage in the seats we had reserved. We paid extra to keep our kids all together.! Website non responsive. I had to get my daughter and her friend home from Portland into the Tacoma area from a family members house and I was not in the area. I booked the 2 of them a trip. My daughters friend did not have ID so this was going to prevent them from utilizing the tickets. I could not cancel the trip. I searched and went in circles on the site. The trip was a couple of hours out. Unable to complete cancelation at that time I revisited it later. After calling and finally speaking with someone, they are stealing my money. I cannot get a refund. Needless to say I will not be using this service/company again. read more
