As a long time metro rider (34 years) I've ridden the 3, 4 , 7, 49 , 42 and 106. I've encountered my fair share of interactions primarily on the 3 and 7 and have always respected drivers on these routes that use courtesy and don't yell. Fast forward to the 522. I've noticed that the majority of drivers on this route, specifically at the lake city stops appear to be like security officers. They don't smile, greet, and have any type of personality. I can name just two drivers who were nice and one driver even yelled at me. Some of the drivers appear to be senior drivers. I heard that sound transit is metro and metro drivers drive the 522. I have not experienced this perceived disgruntled ness on the 372 and 61. I hope metro can address my observations and provide additional training to these drivers. I am dependent on public transit for school but the quality of the bus service has declined steeply since the onset of COVID and has just gotten worse. During finals week when I needed to go home to study as soon as possible, my route was cancelled multiple times and I had to wait an hour for the next bus. I brought this up to King County Metro customer service and the customer specialist I talked to was extremely rude and frustrating, telling me that I should just drop out of school and just become a bus driver. I am from Seattle and used to ride the bus a lot now it's gotten super dangerous for me because the bus goes down some roads that make my stomach and heart feel very uncomfortable. In fact don't even think about driving because it's just as worse as this. This transit agency makes me want to apologize to the transit agency in the California City I live in now. If you are a single Asian guy living in Seattle don't take the bus because you will be fearing for your life if you use the King County bus or drive to look for a girlfriend. Your chance of death increase because this bus has stops along some very dangerous streets as with driving because the government and the state think it's okay to deprive those without a relationship of happiness. Route 70 is just a joke. No only no extra buses for rush hour, but the bus just drove right by and wouldn't stop at my stop. Had to wait for 40 minutes for another bus. You're Access Transit, for ada riders, sucks. I used to do this work. 16 years. Your dispatchers don't give a damn about riders as they are just cogs. Money to Metro. Yesterday, a rider had to wait 3 hours. Three hours! She was in a wheelchair. No one showed up until after her daughter happened to go to the store and saw her mother waiting. She took her home. This has always been a problem for as long as the service has been in place. You need to replace dispatchers with those who work dispatch out of the bases and know what is going on. Quitting was the best thing I ever did. One other thing: You can't get from Woodinville to West Seattle in 15 minutes during rush hour on a Friday afternoon. Maybe 30 minutes when COVID-19 caused people to stay home and no one was on the road. Drivers aren't driving The Magic School Bus and aren't Superman/Superwoman. Our bus system is inadequate: they fail on nearly all metrics: dirty busses that just don't show up, drivers who are rude (I've had them speed away while making eye contact, as I try to run to catch it). One bus just made all passengers deboard w no mention of why this was happening or when the next one would come. Busses are dirty, with no enforcement of riders having "episodes" and making the ride unpleasant for others. This part may not be fair to judge, given the social crisis Seattle's undergoing; however, get your busses on schedule, King County! People's jobs, careers and lives count on it! If you ride Meteo: calculate the time you need to be somewhere w a reasonable bus system and add at least 30 mins to an hour to be on time. This is a huge disservice to the folks who need it the most: the working poor. read more

The buses are frequently cancelled. If you are lucky, their phone update thing might tell you it's cancelled. Often times, the bus doesn't show and you have no idea if it's cancelled or late. Yes, a big amount of people do have cars. But I am assuming the buses are here because 1. People literally don't have cars; 2. people with cars don't want to pay parking when their offices are in Seattle. Seattle metropolitan area is not some east coast cities with old infrastructure left from 1700s where they are restricted by historical site protection. Every election season has this big request for funding. You are supporting it and then see no improvement on public transportation - where did the funding go!? The public transportation is there funded not only by bus fare but also by tax payer's money so people can plan their day. With the undependable schedule, how do they expect people get to work on time?! Writing this as I just waited for a bus that was 36 minutes late. Such a useless system, some buses at the beginning of a route purposely start early or late simply because the bus driver doesn't give a shit. No one tries to improve the system either. If I had a dollar for every time it would be faster for me to walk home, literally from any part of the city, as opposed to waiting for a bus, I could probably afford a car and monthly parking in this city by now. Also, any route that goes through Rainier smells like piss. I dont even know why I bother paying for fare when I've seen people board the bus for free everyday. No stars bc the 48 that stops 35860 that ran at 1:51 by toco chukies on Aug 12 2023 passed my stop without stopping got stuck in traffic so when i walked up to the bus and knocked on the door he would not let me ride and one of the passengers ask him something and he said no and the 48 on runs every up to 20-30min and he was stuck in the same place for 5 minutes and refused to let me on the bus and I'm a black 16 year old coming from work and i am truly upset because it already takes me 1h to get home and then now having to wait on another bus my feet hurt that's bullshit so fuck metro it was your worker who did the bs and i also walked to the next stop and he passed by a black old man so fuck that that's some bullshit idgaf there's no way y'all let that happen read more

There was a incident that had taken place with the King County Metro MTS Yellow Jacket security that stands right there by the tunnel entrance next door to mcdonalds on 3rd pine st and the this is actually the 2nd time that this tunnel security has cursed my 16 yr old child out and i am thankful that this gentleman that called me right when this happened a few hours ago with my daughter because he recorded the whole altercation that had taken placed and was kind enough to send the video to me. The buses are dirty inside, and lately, the smell of urine and god knows what fills a lot of the downtown routes. I have to take an express which is fine until you transfer to a downtown bus. Horrible scheduling, late, or sometimes they have just passed by, probably because they were running late. It is the most inconvenient way to travel downtown. The time spent on these nasty transportation vessels is a whole different matter. So I take my car and pay for parking which again is robbery downtown. Seattle is not friendly at all. read more

The routes are fairly convenient. The fair is a tad more expensive than other cities. I've only met a couple of very rude bus drivers so far. My biggest complaint would be that some bus route are often on time while others are often late. It's hard to tell so just be sure to be extra early if you're catching a bus that comes once an hour. Also, if it ever snows, it suddenly becomes very inconvenient to catch many buses and King County Metro does a poor job in notifying you. They provide both text notifications and post a message on their site. However, they tend to re-route the busses long before updating you. So you could be heading towards a re-routed stop and standing there for a while before ever knowing the bus route changed. read more

Busses just plain don't even show up or are frequently late or even one time came 8 minutes before departure and I was too far down road (AS I STILL HAD 8 MINUTES) to catch it. Watched it roll right past. They might as well not even have a schedule at this point. And they shouldn't even charge people when they can't even be on time. We depend on this for work and I'm constantly worried if I'll make it and leaving the house hours earlier losing out on sleep just to make sure I catch SOME bus cuz who knows which one will actually show up read more
