This station is the last Eastside stop before you head onto SR 520 so it is basically a transfer point. A lot of buses from places like Kirkland, Redmond and Woodinville make stops here before crossing over. On the return trip east, you can change between buses that originate from downtown Seattle and the U-District here. To quicken my commute, I have taken buses to this station and then transferred to a different bus to get to my final destination. While the station is covered, it is open air. Thus it can get chilly waiting here on winter days. Still your wait here is usually only going to be a few minutes, so it is bearable. So if your usual bus is delayed, I would recommend taking a bus to this stop as it gives you more options to choose from. It is helpful for those who need to change over from a U-District bus to a downtown Seattle bus and vice versa.

This is a great stop, because every bus headed westbound stops there, except the 271. That means you can catch a U District bus or a Seattle bus there very easily. The bad news is parking: there's not enough of it. They put a nice lawn in instead of supplying enough parking to meet demand. If you get there after 7:30 a.m. or so, there's no parking available. They have plenty of room on the deck for three times as much parking as they built.

South Kirkland Park & Ride is located just north of the Kirkland border with Bellevue. It is…read morelocated right off 520 and close to Northup Way. A multi-story parking garage was built several years ago to provide additional parking spaces at this park and ride. I don't use this park and ride very often since I live in Bellevue. The park and rides at Eastgate, Mercer Island and South Bellevue are more convenient. Though if you live in Kirkland, this is probably your best option if you are going to park and commute into Seattle from here. There are a few buses that stop here. A few of them are more localized as they make stops only within Kirkland, though there is a bus that goes to Kenmore. And then there is the Metro bus 255 which goes to Kingsgate and Downtown Seattle. There are buses every 30 minutes each way on the weekends. But there is more frequent service (10-15 minutes) on weekdays. The good thing about waiting for the bus here is that buses stop in the same location in both directions. Though you do need to make sure you read the destination sign to make sure you are catching the right bus. The park and ride itself is fine. I just don't frequent it often because it is farther away and there isn't as much bus service to places where I am going. It is a bit more convenient if you are headed to the U-District and north Seattle as the buses that stop here going to Seattle use 520 instead of I-90.

I did think, a window could fall out, and thus would not reach Vancouver on schedule. They couldn't even properly adjust the large LED clock, still set on Standard Time and a few minutes late. Litter left and scattered from the previous trip tells me either nobody cleaned the bus in Seattle, where we originated, or they were given so little time or otherwise cleaned it poorly. I wouldn't have known about MTRWestern had Flixbus not contracted them for the codeshare to Vancouver. Nor would i have otherwise chosen them. They ran the worst, dirtiest, and least maintained bus i've ever ridden.

I had to slam on my brakes and reverse into an intersection. The bus appeared lost; there was no reason for them to be on this very small street. The driver honked at me and seemed confused and angry. I called to report the driver and the woman on the phone seemed annoyed I hadn't taken down all of the bus information. She said it was "so much easier for [her]" if I had. Maybe they don't track their vehicles? Highly unprofessional, and makes me wonder if they simply don't know what routes their drivers take. Given $25 cash, he more-or-less dumped our luggage from the back of the taxi, then told us he wanted a tip as well (no!) -- and when I asked him for a receipt, he said he'd get one. He sat down in the driver's seat, started the taxi, backed into our luggage -- nearly running us over -- and left. Unfortunately, my cellphone was in my carry-on and I couldn't get to it to photograph him or his cab ID number before he began backing up. Little driver, huge ego, terrifying driving. I scheduled a pickup with Starz since they had a promotion at my condo. Through a convenient online form, I was able to set up a reservation, and promptly got a text from them confirming my pickup date and time. I even got a reminder text the day before my pickup. On the day of my pickup, they arrived right on time. Just getting in the Chrysler 300, I was immediately impressed. Available to me was hand sanitizer, candy, gum, a newspaper, and an ipad. There was no need to use the newspaper or ipad, though, as the driver provided great conversation on the way. It was a pleasure to talk to him about my upcoming trip, and he got me to the airport quickly to boot! The most significant part about the service is still yet to be told: After paying him with my credit card, we exchanged handshakes as he handed my luggage to me......... A little while after he dropped me off, I was on my way through to the security line, where I began putting all the contents of my pockets in my bag. It was during this process where I realized what an idiot I was - I forgot my cell phone in his car. In a frenzy, I used my tablet to find Starz' phone number, and called them on the pay phone (who knew these even existed anymore!!!) Calling Starz, I spoke to someone who calmly told me that they would try and get to the airport in about 20 minutes, and told me to meet them at my airline's door in the departures section. I offered to pay again for this drop off, since I assumed the driver was far away from the airport already. It's a small price to pay to be able to keep my phone with me during my trip. Sure enough, the driver arrived about 20 minutes later. I walked up to his car, and he handed my phone to me. I asked him to pull up ahead so he could park and I could pay him again. His response: "No sir, that's ok. Just enjoy your trip." I stood there in shock, as I had just bugged him to drive all the way back to the airport just to drop off my phone. He reassured me that I need not pay him again, and it was then I realized that there is still hope in humanity. To the selfless driver that provided me stellar service, I thank you. Also, a thank you to Starz for employing such great people and for running an efficient operation. I guarantee that I will be using Starz Towncar service for all my future shuttle needs. P.S.
