Located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, this outdoor transit center (basically a series of berths where different bus numbers come and go) can be used to go to SeaTac airport in about 45 minutes. It also has local buses going throughout Bellevue, which can be used as connectors. The lightrail does not connect through Bellevue. There is a lot of construction next to the transit station (building some sort of high rise). I-405 is what connects Bellevue to the airport, and the bus takes it most of the way. It is just a standard bus, so doesn't have luggage racks nor empty spaces where bulky luggage can be placed. Works if you have one piece of luggage and the bus isn't too full. Bus driver was super friendly, and the fare one-way is $2.75 if using the mobile app that lets you buy the ticket on-line (you have 2 hours of unlimited uses once you activate it...so free transfers). read more

Bus nearly came at 11PM when it was suppose to come at 10:30PM. Then randomly on some days it will come 10 minutes early. If you go wait at the bus stop super early like 10-15 minutes to prepare for the buses that come too early but it's delayed, you will end up waiting 20-50 minutes in total just standing in the blazing sun or cold rain. But if you try to go on time with a few extra minutes early, there are days buses will be 8-10 minutes early so you will miss it and with my luck the next bus will be delayed. Today I went out at 1:10PM for a bus and it was super early so I waited for the next one and it was delayed. Now I will arrive somewhere around 2:30PM for a place that takes 10 minutes to drive to. read more

During the day beautiful, not crowded Nights a bit scechy, During the days the long lines are in the past due to COVID-19. You can hear the light traffic out and about but the coolest thing I think is the sound of birds instead of the voices of people. The whole area is beautiful. There is a water thing on one end of the transit center and on the other there is an ORCA machine!!!!!!! At nights well the bums seem to take over the west end. Some sleep at the stop and it's a bit gross. All in all this station services the entire king county area and is a key hub of transportation on the east side. Their are no available public restrooms All in all very essential part of the transit network and a cool place to go see on the east side I do recommend this place. read more

BTC is clean, efficient and super convenient to get to various parts of the east side, south side and Seattle. I personally love the sound transit connections and the bus frequency. Their SeaTac connection saves me some serious moolah. Convenient food options nearby. My only wish is they had atleast one public restroom that could be unlocked with the orca card for a fee say a quarter. Frequently run into groups from the same company riding the bus. Makes for great office stories. read more

For a bus depot, the Bellevue Transit Center is pretty nice. The location is ideal for people travelling on Metro and/or Sound Transit on their way to and from work on weekdays. You will see large lines of people waiting for buses during weekday afternoon rush hour, but otherwise there is not much hectic activity here. The buses do fill up during rush hour though. Mainly go here when I need to go to SeaTac. The 560 stops here with direct service to the airport. It saves me from having to go to Seattle and get on Light Rail. Though I wish the 560 ran more on weekends. I mainly drive to work, but taking Metro from the Crossroads area is not too bad if I need to since I work across the street from the Transit Center. I like this location because it makes it easy to take buses in Bellevue. It really is the only place to go in the area, unlike Downtown Seattle where buses run on numerous streets. read more

I don't know why I would not like the Bellevue Transit Center. Super convenient whenever I want to bus to the Eastside from Seattle. The transit center is generally clean. The Starbucks next to the Transit Center is closed on Sundays. They really should open on Sundays just for several hours because during winter time it gets way too cold outside waiting for the bus. read more

Bellevue transit center has gotten to be a fairly nice place to go with still no drinking fountain but it's clean and easy to get to your bus. There's two Starbucks within the distance of walking, plenty of coffee and I think there's even free Wi-Fi. The high-speed rail Link is coming in from Seattle and throw the building construction to go up to Redmond so it's going to get really easy to use this as a point of moving around. If you want to get a contact high just hang around the orca card re-charge station and somebody will eventually blow big puff of weed smoke near your face. There is nothing here to merit losing a star other than the tunnel feature of announcing when x or y or z bus is arriving but that is just me being picky read more

The Bellevue Transit Center is the main hub of all the bus lines that go into Bellevue. For the most part, there are other bus stops in downtown Bellevue which are walking distance to here, so if you miss the stop here - there are others to catch nearby. All are also walking distance to Bell Square, Lincoln Square, Bravern, etc... I mostly only come here when I'm taking the 550 bus into downtown Seattle, which fortunately, is a straight shot. With that said, it's also one of the most popular buses, so the transit center stop will usually have several people waiting for the 550 AKA get here early! Inside the transit center you can buy an Orca card and also renew the value. There are also brochures/maps of all the bus lines, with the times. I've never seen someone working at the help desk inside, but it is there. It's also walking distance to several eateries and shops. At night the transit center is filthy and people will hang around, smoking weed and littering. Oftentimes when I'm walking home in the evening and pass through here, I will see a ton of empty beer bottles and trash on the ground. That's the big and only negative about this place. read more

Despite its few flaws, it's a great hub for regional buses. I usually use the RR B-Line throughout the Eastside and the 550 from-and-to Seattle's ID Tunnel Station. It's not quite as nice as the Redmond Transit Center and it's better than the Renton Transit Center (except for the decent cafe kiosk). I do dig the brick pavers and the all-walk signal at the west entry. It also has a nice peaceful feel to it later in the evening! It's not quite as nice as the landscaped streets nearby but it's solid. It's easy to get around (it's straight) and plenty of covered area from the falling elements--the whole thing does not need cover! Some exposed benches are nice for those people. :p read more

UNSPOKEN RULE of transit centers/park & rides in Seattle: Line forms based on who gets there first. If your bus comes, step out of the line and walk towards the bus. If it is not your bus, walk ahead and continue the former line. That way, everyone respects whoever got there first and there is order. Very conveniently located to the mall and to various businesses nearby like Starbucks, Anchorhead Coffee, and Evergreen. Safe crosswalks for pedestrians and there's a parking lot right next to it for those who want to leave their car nearby as they travel. Routes go all the way to Northgate or east to Issaquah. Many King County Metro, Sound Transit, and Rapid Ride buses stop here. Fare is decided based on whether it is a peak time or not and how many zones you travel. Most distances within the greater Seattle region are one zone. In terms of how to pay, Orca cards are probably the most convenient in terms of not having to handle exact fare. Local businesses will NOT exchange for coins unless you buy something so make sure you have exact fare if you're paying cash! read more

If you're old enough to remember the urban decay of the 70's, or if you've been to Detroit proper in the past decade then you may feel at home at the Bellevue Transit Center. Ok, well maybe it's not that bad, but in 2012, in a fairly affluent city like Bellevue, what qualifies as a "center" falls woefully short of what one might expect. Let's talk about what's missing at this transit center. * There is no kiosk to purchase or add value to your Orca card. * There is no one working the information booth. In fact, it appears to have been permanently mothballed. * There is no wi-fi (although SBUX is close by). * There are no real-time signs listing the anticipated arrival of the next bus. * There are no restrooms (closed?). * There used to be, but there is no longer any bike racks or lockers. * There used to be, but there is no longer a police sub-station. Here's what the transit center does have. * A mostly(!) covered area to queue up for your bus. * Benches. * Waste receptacles. * Pay telephones. * A small self-service information area across the street from the transit center. After writing the above, I decide to do some research on why the transit center is so lacking and I found an article dated June 2006 that stated, "The $3.5 million center includes a Bellevue Police substation, restrooms, bike racks, public telephones, customer service and rider information. Later this year, a public art sculpture will be installed at the transit center (http://yhoo.it/12ByCZp). So it would appear that after a promising start, the entire project has lost some steam, even as other transit initiatives across the lake in Seattle have been funded an unprecedented rates. That's really too bad. As anyone familiar with Bellevue knows, the richest and most powerful man in that city is Kemper Freeman who hates transit and loves single occupancy vehicles. (See: http://bit.ly/12BvLzK.) I'm sure that Freeman hated the idea of a transit center when it first went in. Let's hope he doesn't have the last laugh as this facility continues to decay. Uhhh, it is a bus stop. A big ol'bus stop on the Eastside. Pretty much if I need to do something on the other side of the lake, my bus will end up/pass through here. Lots of terminals, covered, I assume bathrooms since i've had bus drivers hop off and reappear quickly. Plenty of nearby slightly up-scale food and coffee joints. I have come through BTC a few times now and have really enjoyed my epxeriences. I come from Los Angeles, where the buses are dirty, and the people on them are even dirtier....literally; but that has never been the case with BTC. It's wonderful to see the "eta" light up displays at any time of the day to gauge how long you have to wait. There's plenty of places to sit under shelter when it's raining, and the drivers are always pleasant when trying to help a newb like me with the ORCA card or rapid ride. Highly recommended. I never felt safe taking buses until I started going through BTC. read more

Like most Bellevue residents, I find the BTC to be one of the nicest, cleanest, safest bus stations in the city, the NW, and even the country. You really can't do any better. Maybe the only hitch is the lack of late night options, so if you plan on staying out after 11, plan on using Uber or getting home the old-fashioned way. On foot. In the heart of Bellevue, this is one of the nicest transit facilities in the area. You will likely end up here in you are taking any of the Sound Transit buses to get to Bellevue, and it has several connecting routes all over the area. It is pretty clean, and the vehicle traffic around the area is setup for easy pedestrian access. There are several shops and businesses around the area to eat and drink at if you're waiting for the bus or just want to relax between rides. read more

One of the cleaner, easy to find transit stations around the Sound. From here you have a multitude of choices for your destination, within walking distance. BelleSquare Mall, Westin, Hyatt, Sheraton ,Marriott, plenty of places to eat. There is even a ORCA card kiosk. This place can get pretty crowded on game days, people catching a ride to the stadiums, but Bellevue transit center is relatively safe. read more

This place is very easy to find and very convenient! It's located basically in the center of the city and it's easy to get to. Buses come quiet often and I've never had problems with the bus being too packed. There are many places to eat around the BTC and the mall is only a 10 min walk or a couple minutes ride. read more

Last year was the first time I used this transit stop, to go to the 6th St. Fair. There was one bathroom, and when I knocked, the person was in there doing something. I don't think he left. I tried one of the buildings around, but the desk said I could use their toilet only if I had business in the building. Of course, I could have lied. So if you want to use a toilet, I suggest going to Macy's or some place in Bellevue Square. The transit stop itself is functional, no strangers walking around. but there is nobody to ask for questions. By contrast, check the transit center at Lynnwood, where there's a help desk, a toilet, and bus drivers all around to assist you. read more

I got off the bus, walked across the crosswalk and sat down on a bench to put my skates on. A transit rep rushed over to scream at me that skates are not allowed at the transit center and he was going to call the police. I chuckle at him and inform him to go ahead, as I have just finished using this transit service and am simply putting on my skates to leave and finish my trip to work. I then asked him, "I'm sorry sir, but do you call the cops on bike rider after they remove their bike from the front bike rack and for a brief second are a unmounted bicyclist in a bus lane? Or do you let them use your service, walk across a crosswalk, get on their bikes and ride away?" He stood speechless and just staring at me. As clearly he didn't see me come off the buss and merely assumed that I was going to skate around the transit center. I waited a moment and asked again this time offering some help, "sir you seem confused, would you like me to call the police and we can discuss this further or are you going to let me leave the transit center and go to work?"
