The restrooms stand is the best example of this respect. The restaurants are clean and well appointed. Two shower curtains are in the shower stall with a sit down stool for the shower and I'll sit down or posted area for the sit down area in the into shower. Nice touch. Clean, operated washers and dryers are available in both the men's in the ladies room and you can use your cell phone and a smart phone app to pay for services. Nice touch. We note some derogatory comments about the attitude of the owners, but in our experience, nothing could be further from the truth. Put yourself in their position watching a wide range of RV travelers coming in and out all day long. If you do, so, you can imagine they'll see some excellent visitors, many, run-of-the-mill visitors, and some are to put it in nicely less than desirable. They see it all in our experience. A little engagement on some humor goes along way, and we found them to be delightful. Go in the joy. This is a nice campground with clean well appointed facilities. Go and enjoy. Note: our Garman GPS did not take us to the right spot or the right entrance. We ended up on the opposite side of the Dan river at a private residence. There are some nice playgrounds for the kids, not big but they get the job done. The pool is small, but nice for kids to play and hang out. There are no fire pits at the spaces so that was a little disappointing. The spaces are very small, but paved. Lots of roots and trees around, so there is not much even ground even for sitting at the picnic tables. Definitely a more family friendly feel, and with the space is being so close. It's not a very relaxing campground with peace and quiet if that's what you're looking for. It wasn't overly loud or people partying it up or anything, but just not a private campground if that's what you're looking for. For $40 a night, I would say that it is well worth the money and our kids had a great time!

It was a nice day so we went down to the beach and got a bit of sun before walking downtown for the evening. Free parking, clean restrooms, water fountains, and clear signage to all the trails; this is a perfect rally point to make a full day out of exploring Hanging Rock. No on site Laundry....however several laundromats in the near by town....several grocery stores and restaurants of a nice variety and shopping within a 20min. Drive..... And the Staff handout goodies to the Dogs.....the Dogs love the Friendly Staff too.

It is very pet friendly (many campers have dogs) with trails along the lake and to the river. It's a popular fishing spot, although we didn't go since it's winter as of this writing. Bobby, who maintains the grounds is super helpful & attentive to any challenges that arise with the site and our needs. Scott, the owner, was very accommodating. And Linda in the office was just as sweet as can be. We would definitely recommend this campground and have had an amazing experience here. Thanks to the staff for all you do if they read this!!

For people who love spending time in nature it was heaven! Floating down the river through beautiful woods and pastures is the perfect thing to do on a lazy Summer afternoon, especially after a long drive. There's also fishing there. That night we cooked around the fire, and made music. We were joined by the owners who are very friendly and knowledgeable about the local history, sustainability, geology, agriculture and just about anything else you might want to know. Just ask Andrew! They have bathrooms with toilets, and showers (hot water)! For anyone looking for an affordable, rustic and low key destination, I can't recommend it enough.
