The creek sounds lulled us to sleep and what I really loved was the trees shading us from morning sunlight so my early riser child didn't feel the need to wake me up at 5:30 in the morning to go on another adventure. It's definitely a laid back and rustic environment but I was all in. Paul takes care of his customers and he was very adamant in teaching us the rules of the river before letting us launch. I had $60 in cash and he would only take $40 even thought the price was listed as $50. It's a great deal for you to kayak, paddle board and tube on the gorgeous river. We had it basically to ourselves that day and it was a revelation. The only thing I'd say is there needs to be upgrades to the life jackets. Most of them were child sized. However, all of the other equipment was well maintained. Please go and support this business!

I'm not really sure what her purpose was or what she's supposed to be doing but she interrogated my family the entire time. She kept asking us how many people are supposed to be coming and kept saying "this isn't the place to have a party." She butted into every single conversation we had and was breathing down our necks the entire time. Literally every time any of us used the trash can, she changed the trash like she was annoyed we were using it. I swear the trash was changed 7 times in short amount of time we were there. I didn't mind changing it when we were done either. She screamed at one of my family members very loudly over something he said in a PRIVATE conversation he was having with one of my other family members. Mind you, the conversation had nothing to do with her or the lake. She also screamed at somebody else's kids because they were throwing sand. I understand not throwing it at people but there was nobody around and they were just being kids. My family and I did nothing wrong and I don't think it's fair that we were made this uncomfortable at a public lake. We are good people. We minded our business, were polite, cleaned up after ourselves, and even fed the lady because that's the kind of people we are. I understand if we were being rowdy but we were just literally enjoying family time together. Definitely will never be going back to this lake again.

I was literally on fumes when I arrived. The guys from the campground got me a canister of diesel and didn't even wanted to charge me for it! "We're glad to help you out!" of course I paid for it, but it shows how nice and willing to help they are. Unfortunately the weather was cold and rainy, so we couldn't really enjoy the place. It is a bit messy when it's wet, because the spots are only gravel Would recommend it to everyone!

Their website says not to depend on GPS to get there but it worked for us (to be fair though, we didn't depend on it.) The farm was easy enough to find. The first directional sign showed up about the time we thought that we might have passed it. Parking was a large level field just off the road and they had a shuttle (someone's personal car) taking patrons to the admission gate, which was just ;over the crest of the hill. Grounds are pretty and well-maintained. There was a large permanent structure for dining/shade and it looked like Floyd Country Store has a permanent structure there. Sound system was excellent. Use of natural slope for amphitheatre-like seating/sound very nice. Would be tickled to visit Chantilly again for another event. Bring shade if sitting for a long spell.

The manager of the campground was very friendly and helpful. He showed us to our site, saying to be sure to let him know if we needed anything or had questions. The next morning, our truck would not start, and he and his wife were so kind and helpful. He even came to our site, crawled under the truck to see if he could figure something out. His wife checked to see if any local mechanics were open on a weekend and made sure we were able to stay in our site as long as was needed till we could get to a dealership that would have the parts and mechanics on hand to diagnose and fix our truck. The manager even drove my husband in to town to pick up a few needed items at a local store! We really appreciated the way they extended such hospitality, going above and beyond to help us out. We will come back here again, for sure, the next time we are back in this area!

From the sign/arrow that points at window rock, climb down and you will see the window in the rock to your right. Through the window, you can see a waterfall!
