We engaged Floodmasters through a recommendation from a plumber to clean up a water leak. They were responsive it appearing with fans and dehumidifiers. Setting up numerous machines for what we felt like was a small issue limited to one wall and a basement ceiling. After 48 hours the water was completely dry. We called and ask for the machines to be removed, but it took over 3 days for them to come back to remove the equipment. We had even turned the machines off and we're not using them because the spot was dry and were so load. Once the machines were removed we were invoiced for each machine through the date it was picked up and not the date we called to have them removed. Resulting in 3 days of over charges on 9 machines. We paid the balance of the itemized invoice we agreed with for the 1st 48 hours and contested the overcharge. We heard nothing back and recieced no additional requests for payment. After 90 days we were issued a lien by Floodmasters in the mail. We will pay the overcharge to settle the lien. But i wont let them in my house again. They dont operate the right way to do business. If you do contract with them understand you need to manage them and twist their arm to take back thier equipment. Same sentiment as the others. They come out and make your home seem like it was HORRIBLE. Took my deductible upfront ( I paid it not knowing). Then they plugged up 7 blowers and 5 dehumidifiers. Their equipment killed my a/c. I called them to let them know and was met with anger from Carol. She took it personally that I wanted a resolution to my problem. Beware of this company! We had slight flooding and their sales guy, Q, came by to access the damage. He made it sound like we had been hit by a tsunami and we needed to get started before mold formed. Within an hour and half they were pulling tiles, cutting through our wall, etc. They were in such a rush to get started that the sales guy actually called the insurance company. I later found out that the damage was not a quarter as bad as I was told. Oh well, you live and you learn. read more

In Feb 2020, my 82 year old mom called our plumber because she discovered the floor in the basement was very wet. The plumber could not find the leak, but sent Flood Masters to install dryers to start drying the water. "Q" charged my mom $1,000 that day and told her our homeowners will cover. They left no quote, no paperwork, nothing to submit to my mom's insurance company. Another technician came the same day and dryers were installed to dry up the floor in the basement. Then another technician came in and smashed and pulled up about 10 pieces of tile, subfloor and cut out parts of the hardwood floor looking for asbestos. Still, never received anything that my mom could submit to her home owners. They completely destroyed the kitchen and insurance will not pay to fix because the plumber our insurance sent out found the leak - it came from the ice maker. I sent a text to Elizabeth and asked her for the quote and description of what had to be done and what they did. As of March 13th, we still had received nothing. On April 7, I sent an email to "Q" and he finally called, looking for more money!! My mom finally received the description and scope of work AFTER our insurance company denied the claim - it was sent to my email (as requested) on April 30th. Now my mom has a refrigerator in the middle of the kitchen, tiles and subfloor have been torn up, some of the hallway wood floor has been cut up and there are also additional damages. This company is a scam and I believe they took advantage of my mom and frightened her when they mentioned asbestos. My AHS service warranty plumbing contractor came out to fix leaky kitchen pipes back in July 2019. They told me they would be having someone come out to pull up kitchen tiles and dry out flooring to prevent mold. Then FloodMasters shows up while I was at work and insisted they needed a authorized signature to start working. My underage daughter was only one home at the time and she signed the work authorization form. No service pricing was never discussed or a price quote ever given ( just like a few other reviewers pointed out.) The plumber and/or AHS warranty company contacted these people to come out to do work so I had NO clue they planned to bill me the homeowner. I never had an agreement with FloodMasters or even knew who they were until a few weeks after the drying of my floor was done abc they started calling and sending emails for a bill of $2300 -WTH!!! What kind of reputable and sound business comes into your home to do work without discussing payment first??? The rep that was out here even took the liberty of contacting my HO insurance company Allstate to file a claim on my behalf! Of course Allstate denied the claim-which he insisted they should be paying for it. This bait and switch deal is the standard modus operandi of FloodMasters. A homeowners plumber or service warranty contacts them when a customer has water damage, they show up snd start working, initiate a new claim with the home owners insurance company in hopes of a BIG payday. When they succeed it's gravy but when insurance denies the claims they come back to the homeowner with a bill for a random amount that was never agreed upon or disclosed upfront! I made the mistake of telling the guy that came out from floodmasters that this was my first big issue with the house and that I had homeowners insurance. That's when floodmasters saw dollar signs. He acted very friendly and contacted the insurance company for me to file the claim. But then he did something that made me think twice he asked for a credit card to pay the deductible. He also made clear that job would probably cost around $2.000 to $3000. I should've waited until I got the adjustor review. Like an idiot I paid floodmasters the the deductible before anyone else came out, then come to find out things were not as bad as floodmasters made out. The lack of communication with this company is extremely frustrating. They insist on leaving their equipment in your home running 24/7. FOR DAYS! Basically, you are told, we need to have this in your home for as long as we want--because the longer they leave it here, the more they can charge my Insurance money. I guess they think we're stupid. Floodmasters exemplified poor quality customer service! They were very unprofessional, although I had water damage done in my home. I spoke with the Mitigation Manager, Mark A. and explained to him that I am a single woman and I did not feel safe EVERYDAY having a different man calling me and TELLING me they were coming by my home without a scheduled appointment to inspect the equipment. He stated the reason for the different personnel because the agents check each other work (sounds like a training issue to me). He refused to apologize for the poor quality customer service and presented an I don't care attitude, although this is a stressful situation for me. We are in the middle of recovery for a sewer backup. No fun to experience but the experience with floodmasters has been great so far. Quartius was at our house just a few hours after phone contact and helped us through the insurance claim initiation. It was fast and efficient. Within another few hours Hector arrived to work on the cleanup and to start the remediation. He just finished after a tough day of pulling up hardwood and cutting out drywall. I found them on Angie's List and called the number listed. I spoke to a lady and told her my issue. She said a technician would call me to schedule an appointment. I never received a call. I called Aaron Plumbing and was able to schedule an appt right then and there. I'm not sure how they could take so long just to schedule an appointment. They're just watching their money fly away. Floodmasters was recommended to us by a plumbing company that was assisting us with a plumbing leak that caused extensive water damage to our first floor. We are very disappointed with the service we received from Floodmasters- Norcross and would not recommend anyone to use them for services. We were never provided any documents or reports regarding the mitigation process and once the equipment was in place, the communication and follow up with us as well as with our insurance company was terrible. We had to keep calling the office to ask who and when someone would come check on the drying process and equipment along with next steps. It has not been a good experience. They also blew out one of our electrical sockets with their equipment which they still have not corrected to date, but instead received a call from the office manager regarding when they can expect to receive the second half of the deductible payment when they hadn't even submitted the necessary documentation/invoice to our insurance company timely. They also quoted one price to our insurance company but eventually submitted the invoice for double the price for mitigation services. We would never use this company again. The bright side is that we have found a restoration company to complete our rebuild and they are showing us how this process SHOULD be handled. read more

We are in the middle of using Floodmasters and I wish we could fire them but they have 1/2 of the money already for the work. The work they have done so far is amature at best. They have damaged things that were not damaged to begin with and when we pointed out the damage to the manager, he basicly told us he did not think they did that damage despite us going over everything with him before the work and he knows there was no damage. Custom cabinet doors are ruined, they pained over staples, did not sand wood before painting and just painted over, dragged furniture over the hardwoods and scratched and left a mess everyday and we would spend several hours every evening cleaning up the mess. The dry wall repair looks like a 4 year did it and the ceiling paint is bubbled and peeling (painted 3 days ago). There are so many more issues but makes me furious to think about them. We have lived with this mess now for over a month despite the promise it would be done in 2 weeks or so and now have to start over and repair their work and fix things they damaged and complete the rest. We will see how Floodmasters now approaches these issues and if they do the right thing, I will revise my comments but this is how things currently stand. read more

Unfortunately flooding, water back-up, mold, and all the other issues caused by such a disaster tend to put a person on edge. Trying to get through it takes courage. My service with Floodmasters, GA, was a recommendation by the plumber I called out to see why I had water on the carpet in my living room. After the problem was resolved, Quartius came out the same day to discuss the situation with me and connect me with my insurance company. Ten machines ran 24 hours a day for 6 days drying things out, drywall and carpet damage was cut away and mold prevention done. All the furnishing in my downstairs living and dining rooms were placed in two PODS they provided which sat in front of my home while the repairs were made and floors restored. I have six china cabinets full of vintage glassware and china which also had to be packed in boxes and stored in the PODS. Amy, a definite asset to the company, did a splendid job of packing, mostly all by herself which took almost two weeks. I have new flooring now in the whole of downstairs and my furnishings are back in my house. This was a two month process and glad it's over. I did have them make adjustments to my billing and the communication follow up could have been a lot better, that's why I'm only giving four stars. read more

FOLLOW-UP to my review a few months back. The bad reviews are totally in-line with our experience. Floodmasters of GA came recommended to us by High Priority Plumbing, who we have used for years and really like and I hope they stop recommending Floodmaters to anyone. We are now 5 months into a project that was suppose to take 2 weeks. Every time they come into the home, they leave with either little work done or something else damaged that was not damaged to begin with. They also come with attitudes and a total lack of professionalism. Most have spoken to my wife and I like we are just taking time out of their day. Today, I actually felt threatened by having them in my home and asked them to leave. Why should anyone feel threatened in their own home??? My wife has missed weeks of work trying to manage this thing and the owners/managers are no where to be seen. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY. We actually had one person come in and tell us he does not want to be here and suggest we find someone else. Stay away, stay away, stay away. read more
