A fun brewery & neighborhood bar combo. They only had a couple of their own beers on tap when we stopped in, but both were solid, classic styles (nothing weird like experimental hops or fruits/herbs). They also had several tap & bottle beers, local & imported. Lots of non-beer options, too. They have a cool, enclosed patio area where you can play pool. We really enjoyed that. Not much parking available in the lot. Be prepared to park on the street. read more

Not much to look at from the outside, and pretty bare bones on the inside. Concrete floors, no one was anywhere but at the bar. Outdoor seating available and a smoker tent. Bartender was a nice guy, and the burger we ordered was cooked by another very friendly guy on a BBQ unit outside. I get the sense that food is ordered infrequently enough that they keep frozen burger patties and pizzas on hand. We were headed to a brewery nearby, but it was closed. We had biked into town from Denver and was a bit concerned that the burger was from Costco. But I was surprised pleasantly. Though clearly not just made, the patty was great! And the rest of the toppings were good too. We had a very good Vanilla Stout. It was from Breckenridge Brewery, and apparently Floodstage doesn't have any of their own brews anymore. read more

Cole satisfies all needs. What he lacks in height, he gives in kindness. He is a kind person and welcomes new customers. The food is great (especially the secret menu) my favorite being the pizza pretzel. Floodstage has a great selection of beer pouring from over 20 taps. They have a great modern bar and an upbeat environment. The downside is that the music is way too loud (or maybe I'm just getting old) and none of the beers pour properly. The bartender typically has to pour your beer into a pitcher, let it sit for 5 mins then pour it into a pint glass. They offer dogs and brats and catered BBQ from time to time. It's one of Brighton's best but I wish they would solve some of the glaring problems they have. read more

the food was good we had nachos and a burger that was amazing, and the sound system -3 stars for the bartender who was extremely rude to more people then just myself. When I asked about the specials of the night and to see a list of what they offer she quickly retorted "we don't have a list it changes all the time. We have fireball shots for $3" I asked if that was all they had and she seemed exasperated that I even asked. I'm sorry but if you can't take the time to print a sheet of paper everyday with your specials on it then you should be prepared for people to ask about them. Same thing with the beer list. Further more this is a small town if you haven't seen a person before maybe say hello and give your name and maybe a menu??? We stood by the door awkwardly for a minute before we decided to just seat ourselves. This woman who's name I did not get should not be the face of the bar perhaps locked away in an office where she can be rude to the walls. One other thing I found to be quite odd considering it was 8:30pm on a Friday is that there was 2 young boys there 8-12yo 2 separate family's. Swear words blaring from the speakers drunk people stumbling around.... not a place I would EVER bring my son. The nice guy that brought our food out was very accommodating asked if we needed anything else and even check in on us to make sure the food was good and it was! 5 stars for him!! Bottom line: probably will not be back. Wouldn't recommend based on this visit. Good food. Laid back atmosphere with a great beer selection. Limited food menu; burgers sandwiches, and brats are on the menu. Off the menu they were serving jalapeño cheese stuffed pretzels and 12" pizzas. The pretzel was great. It was soft with the right amount of salt and spicy. The chicken sandwich with cheese, bacon, jalapeños was great. The jalapeños were fresh and way hotter than expected. They now have bud light on tap and fresh salads on their menu. I like to make it down at least once a week to see what kind of new beers they have on their big tap beer board. They also have live music every weekend, which my girlfriend loves. If it's your first time, the flood burger is a must try. If your feeling frisky try the one with a chicken breast on the burger. We were looking for a place to sit outside and day drink near by. Floodstage was it. The patio is very relaxing. Kind of odd to see a poker game in the middle of the day while the weather was beautiful. The bartender was super nice, but at one point was so busy. Hard to believe there was one bartender on a Saturday. The food seemed decent looking. The only reason I am not rating higher is because of the cook/bouncer/obnoxious fool. Could not watch this gentleman, smoking cigarettes and then immediately over to cook the food which is located on the grill outside for all to see. GROSS! Then having to listened to him with his smarty remarks to females as they walked by. For that reason I would just stick to the beer. read more

I used to live in Brighton, and I must tell you entertainment was limited. Upon my last visit, I stumbled across a new brewery- Floodstage. Quite impressive as they showcase over 42 microbrews. Fantastic! If you decide to do happy hour here it is only $2 a pint or $3 for their collosal (24 ounces?) Their menu was quite limited, but I guarantee this is the best beer you will find in Brighton. I also like the fact this small gem also has that small-town feel. People are open and actually want to talk. No snooty-factor here. read more

Three stars is my overall rating for Floodstage but there are other ratings that I think I should break down first because I don't feel like it does the place justice to just sum it up with three stars with little to no explanation about it. In regards to atmosphere I have to give Floodstage four stars. While the place is not huge it is a good size to bring friends and family. There is a cute little patio outside that you can go chill out and visit... or zone out by yourself. In regards to the food and service I would also give four stars. The bartender and waitress were very attentive and friendly and eager to please. We ordered a cheeseburger and a bratwurst which tasted great! They grilled them out on a grill outside and the taste reflected that. Yummy! When it came to the beer though,two stars. Don't get me wrong. The beer that I had here was good but I first heard about Floodstage off of a brewery map covering most of the breweries that are open in Colorado. Floodstage is therefore marked as a brewery which brews its own beer. I asked the waitress if they had any of their own beer on tap that they brew there and none was available. The beer that they did have on tap was from other local breweries. Being a brewery one would think that they would have at least one of their own signature beers on tap at all times. This was not the case and in that aspect, it was a disappointment. To sum it all up I admit I don't know Brighton very well because I don't have friends or family there that I see often. If the rare occasion ever arises where I am in town this place would be a good stop to make for lunch since the burgers and brats are awesome. In just such an occasion I hope they have their own beer on tap to sample too. read more

I feel bad for giving them 1 star. Props to Floodstage for trying to be a great beer destination in Brighton. They have great beers on tap & they have great beers in bottles. What kills them is the clientele. They just don't appreciate good beer culture. Besides us, everyone was drinking Coors or a Bud. Despite having Ska, New Belgium, & other good brewers on tap, everyone in the bar was drinking piss. The old lady next to us was trashed and wouldn't stop bugging us. Their house brewed beers tasted like plastic. If you're going to open a microbrewery, don't do it in Brighton. Just serve Coors, & you'll be good. read more

I have to say up front I really want to like this bar. It has some really nice features for a small Brighton bar but falls short in many ways. I ride from Thornton to Brighton and the surroundings area looking to find that unique hide away type bars that has both a comfortable friendly feel, cold beer a maybe even something to eat at times. I have been dropping into the Flood Stage for the last two years, probably a total of 15 times. On the upside the bar has a good small bar feel a nice but small patio. I was impresses once when someone ordered a hamburger off the menu and they rolled out a gas grill on the drinking patio and fired it up to cook the hamburger. guess they don't have a kitchen. Does not really matter but does limit there food offerings. My issue with this bar is over the several years I have never really had a friendly waitress. Every time I have been there including tonight the staff seams preoccupied and and at time put out to get you a beer. I thought it was a fluke but seams to be the norm each time I go there. Several times I have been there when they had a DJ or live music. The place seams to small for that. Kind of really load for the size and no dance floor room. The music mix seamed kind of odd for the crowd when I was there but that might just be me. Recap: There are friendlier bars in the Brighton area. This is a small unique bar with good beer and worth a try. Hope the service improves. read more

Small little brewpub with local flavor. They brew up some delicious beers, especially the porter, and have an enormous selection of other beers on tap and in cans and bottles. Floodstage has one of the best selections of beers in the Denver area, and at the best prices I've seen too. It's VERY rare that one of the beers isn't pouring properly. I've seen it happen with their own brew, but this certainly isn't typical. The live bands they have on weekends are usually good, and yes sometimes loud. It's a small place to host live music. They do have a patio (covered and heated in the winter) that you can escape to when the music is too loud. I've never known just the jukebox to be too loud. I'm sure you could always just ask someone to turn that down. It's the kind of place where they'll put whatever you want on the t.v. The food is done on a grill, so burgers and brats. They do get some delicious burgers, but there isn't much selection. It's great when they have bbq going outside. If Floodstage could somehow share the kitchen with Copper Rail nextdoor, this would be not just the best place in Brighton, but one of the best in all of the Denver area to get your beer on. read more

Apparently when the weather is anything but sunny they won't take food orders. The bartender was extremely rude. She didn't even want to give us a menu. She didn't introduce herself or even say hello. Simply looked at us and said, "can I get you something?" The only music that played had to be paid for by customers. So there wasn't much to the atmosphere. The rain left rather quickly so we ordered some food and it was surprisingly very good. The gentleman that brought it to us was polite. Whomever the blonde is, behind the bar, needs to change places with Anthony...or just move on. She has no customer service skills and thinks that everyone should come up to the bar FOR HER. I would call this more of a tap house. I love this place it's so convenient to have. I don't have to drive miles out of brighton to grab a beer. Sports are always on the tv. Beers pour good and come out cold. Happy hour is the best 24 Oz for 3 bucks. The only thing is the menu is lacking, so I don't order from there and i eat before I head over there. The bar service has been great each and every time I go. The other thing is they serve coors and bud light and people drink it. when they have such a better beer selection. Those are things that I just don't understand. I haven't tried their house brew seems like the boiler is always broken, I'm beginning to think that they just don't know how to brew beer. read more

This is a great place - Big patio to enjoy great burgers with lots of your friends. Or you can sit at the bar and enjoy a game on TV. The beer selection is quite good. I love Porters and there always some excellent ones to try. In addition, they have 2 house brews. These are very reasonable and quite good. This is really the only bar I go to in Brighton. The other options are just too gloomy or depressing. The Copper Rail next door is OK, but its too big to get the friendly feel of The Floodstage. Their food menu is a bit limited, but what they cook, they cook right. Get adventurous and try a burger with jalapenos and blue cheese! read more

Nice. I've now been here twice and this place is great. Twenty-odd Colorado brews on tap. About a hundred more in the bottle. I am still stuck on the rotating selection of in-house brews that they sell for two bucks a pint. They are running a porter and a red right now and they are both really good. The brewer obviously knows his shit. The red is creamy, exactly to my taste and the porter is great.. Very complex.. Somehow hoppy and creamy at the same time with a pronounced but not overpowering smokiness to it. Both go down a little too smooth but that's no complaint. Did I mention they have a premium well too? I'm sold. Great atmosphere and friendly folks all around. Not very big but clean and comfortable with a nice patio too. Limited food service (no actual kitchen) but they bust out the grill and cook up some tasty burgers backyard BBQ style (even veggie burgers!). No pretentious bullshit just an attitude of "Dude I'm wasted... Let's fire up the grill and scarf some burgers." I'm from Phoenix so maybe places like this are a dime a dozen here in colorado, but i would rather booze here than most of my local watering holes because of the beer selection alone. I heard that they occasionally have live music too. I'm moving to Brighton next month and maybe I'm overexcited to find a sweet spot like this in what I heard is a boring town. I haven't explored too much (drove all around and it seems that I won't be missing Mexican food) but this has got to be the hippest spot in Brighton (not that that is saying much of course... kinda like a cow with a mohawk)... I live in Brighton..The bars here are the worst in the metro area and that will probably never change. What did change was someone finally opened a bar that actually serves great beer..and plenty of it, in many varieties..add to that a small brewery with a Brewmaster that makes damn good brews and you have a hidden oasis right here in Brighton. John "The Brewmaster" makes beer that is as good or better than many of the well known national labels. If you want a Bud Light you can get that too..but really ? why? there are a plethora of amazing brews to choose from. If you want Bud go to Jordis, that's the best they can do! Here's the truth: Floodstage is an everymans bar and has a laid back atmosphere that screams summer fun. Go with friends and enjoy an Ice cold brew and if you are hungry Alex will grill you up the finest burger made to order that Brighton has to offer ( True Story! ) All in all we should feel lucky to have a current and friendly bar in Brighton because honestly this is the only one and who knows how long until John takes his "Flood" of brew mastery and beer selection talent onto bigger and brighter stages. If you decide to stay "In Town" this is really your only decent option for a casual fun night out without the usual "Douchebaggery" that seems to plague the rest of the local bars.
