It's long because I'm upset. Sorry: I am a very overly kind person. I'm also very poor. My father and brother are helping pay for and install a new water heater due to it leaking for over a month and ruining my home. I couldn't afford to fix it nor the flooded flooring and walls etc etc but they are stepping in. Now we find Menards sells a small water heater for -$200 than other stores! So we're locked in to this store. We can't pay someone to do the fix, heck we can't afford the fix. We unfortunately had to risk doing it ourselves. This store DOES do water heater exchanges. They take the old ones and sell you a new one. Most of the employees assumed we were doing that and told us in multiple conversations that we can bring the old broken heater there. Apparently there's a few details and loopholes where they won't accept them. If you bring the old one in first and purchase the new one you're good. If you purchase first and bring the old one after they'll now tell you to piss off because you didn't bring it earlier. Imagine dropping off your old water heater, a nice employee takes it in for you while you return the pickup truck you paid and rented from them. --and then you go walk across the giant store to check in kindly if you need to pay for the disposal and they yell at you over and over. Also they refused to speak to me other than yell at me. I couldn't even see the old heater! They refused to hear anything I said and continued yelling that they "never" take in old water heaters. But they do. Our situation wasn't perfect, but there was no reason whatsoever for treating a kind person like someone to be screamed at for several minutes. I was obviously just trying to be nice and figure out what went wrong and where but they were on some power trip. That was the first night. I literally was dismissed and told to leave the store for another day because they were done with me. ... what? I was trying to also purchase another hose I needed, PLUS I got a phone call from my dad that they somehow purchased an incorrect replacement and we needed to buy another water heater. But here I was being told to leave the store. Crazy. We had spent over a thousand dollars, we were telling the employees that we needed to buy much more, and still being treated like scum over a tiny scrap fee or whatever they might have at hand. And I was TRYING to get it back and fix things and they wouldn't even allow it. It was unbelievably uncomfortable. After the first night my dad still wanted to use the same store. We went back the following day and there were more rude employees who found us at checkout and started telling us off as if we had done something horrific. We were pretty sure they were holding our old water heater hostage still but they finally brought it out to us and then refused to do our exchange or purchases until they stood there yelling at us that now we have to take the water heater back... Anytime I spoke they talked over me saying things like "no listen to me! I'm telling you what happened and what you did to us!". It was aggressive, accusatory, and unkind. I was absolute fuming. I am a very soft spoken person, and I do NOT like being obviously taken advantage of for my personality. We were fine taking the water heater, but they even kept yelling at us "you better take that with you!!" even as I paused walking out the door to straighten my pants! And we were already walking away with both the exchange heater and the broken one! They were insufferable. If I had been alone or used all my own money I would return everything. Everything. I have to purchase a lot more stuff to fix the walls and floors and a few more plumbing issues now that my dad and brother are helping me on this. But YOU'LL NEVER SEE ME IN THIS STORE AGAIN! I had no idea how negatively these interactions would impact me but I just feel so upset and uncomfortable. I don't want to talk to anyone for a long while. I just felt judged and disliked no matter how much I wanted to work with them and show I cared and it was an accident.

The minute you walk in, you can see the pride this company takes in displaying furniture. I was greeted by a very nice sales lady and she told me to look around, sit on everything and test it out! I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved that!!! I walked around the store and saw some gorgeous pieces of furniture! The sales lady told me that they have free design service where the interior designer goes to your house to take pictures. The interior designer then puts together multi dimensional images, so you can visualize what your home can look like! The best thing about it is this service is absolutely free!!! I noticed high quality pieces with good price points. I truly believe that this store has something for everyone! I did purchase a few accessories that work with my home decor perfectly! I found two sectionals that I love and had the sales lady email information and dimensions to me. I need my husband to measure and see what works best. I'm so glad I stopped in today!

At check-out, she reminded me when the sales start and end, plus online shipping is available. A large selection of items are available online that you'll never see in the store. I bought the Speed Queen TR5 which comes with a five year warranty. It is built with steel gears and transmission. It has a ceramic coating of the drum instead of plastic like everyone else does these days. It has no lid lock except during the spin cycle. My old Maytag which wore out after 7 years took five minutes to unlock after canceling the cycle. The Speed Queens do not connect to the internet. To me it's just more things that need maintenance. The TR5 is just a simple, strong, sturdy, commercial grade, laundromat quality washer. That's all I want. Wash my clothes for 20 years like they used to make them. This washer is just that. I walked in at 10 am, confirmed they had the machine in stock (23 were just shipped in which kind of proves it's the correct unit to buy), and made the purchase. The primary reason I chose Grand is because they use their own delivery people, not third parties like the big box stores do. Delivery was inexpensive considering they hauled off the old worn out machine. 100% satisfied.

I also have a matching loveseat that seats 2 with each end that flips out and the middle has 2 cup holders and flips up where you can store items in it. The coffee table leg kept trying to collapse, so I called them after putting allot of money into warranty. Found out had to go through someone else and they conveniently kept forgetting to email us. The seats are sunken and material thin and with stuffing so thin after having furniture only 9 months. We threw the coffee table out as it's no good and obviously not worth anything. American Freight sells cheap and worthless furniture. I now have to look for new furniture and more then likely will have to sue them for money lost as I paid it off within 90 days same as cash. It is only my husband and I we both work and the use of the furniture was minimal. I'm frustrated, we spent 2019.96, which they gladly took and when needed help for defective furniture, we kept getting the run around.
