The BEST customer service that I have experienced in a long time. My husband and I are putting in floors for the first time for our entire house. We have been to several flooring stores and just felt like we were getting duped. Not here! Matt R. approached us and he was so very helpful. He answered all of our questions and was so informative! I didn't feel rushed in making this expensive choice. We couldn't decide between tile or vinyl and he broke down all the pros and cons. As a contractor the worst thing you can have is loss of time due to inefficient material procurement. I've waited over an hour for a small order that I placed from one of their other locations. I thought Floor & Decor had great prices until I realized that their tile is cheap, much of it is not fit to use (as in my case, it went up on the wall and didn't look right at all - we had to take it all down and replace it), much of it is cracked (I bought marble mosaic tile $25/sq ft and much of it was full of cracks.) And, Floor & Decor does not make things right. They just take your money and say "So long". If I were doing any more tile work, I would go to Daltile or other reputable tile manufacturers to buy my tile. No more Floor & Decor! read more

Four stars because employees at this particular store have consistently been helpful, available, and always ask if they can be of assistance. I recently visited anther Floor & Decor in the Houston area that was a very negative experience. At the Gulf Fwy. store it is clear that the management is solid, shows good leadership, and values the employees. Every employee there seems to have a firm grasp on product knowledge, and equally important, they appear to understand the value of good customer service. I have consistently had a positive experience with the Gulf Fwy. store, but on this particular day one employee stood out among the rest. A very courteous and knowledgeable young man with the name Jesse. He was such a help to me that I called the store to get his full name: Jesse Araujo. It is clear that this store is well managed and that the employees are valued. I could not give 5 stars to the store, however, because the lighting is always terrible. This is a problem throughout most of the Floor & Decor chain. The corporate management needs to visit the lighting plans for these stores, especially since their products require good lighting for selection of proper colors, textures, etc. read more

No frills, all business flooring shop with a few cabinets/countertops thrown in. It's basically a giant warehouse with flooring stacked from concrete floor to ceiling organized by type - I saw porcelain, ceramic, slate, travertine, laminate wood, hardwood, marble. Prices, names, and SKUs are clearly labeled so if what you want isn't there, you can ask them to check another location. They have a great variety, and some decorative pieces like a marble star! Several sales people to assist you and answer questions -- but as I was walking around the store, 3 different guys handed me their business card to let me know they install. Hmm, I guess it's a good place to look for work, but also felt a little sketch at the same time. read more

F&D always has a great selection of tile, but not always service. Today, Sarah and Keith gave perfect service with amazing prices. Walked away with clearance travertine at an unbeatable price. Check the front and sides of the stores for the best deals. Also, be sure to take a note pad and keep track of the SKU's when picking up samples. It will help your frustration with the customer service, if you're not prepared for much help (although today I got all the help I needed). It would greatly improve the store, if they added notepads and pens for customers to keep track of the quantity and SkUs. Great experience today. Will be back. read more

Had to give this place a review after getting some tile there last week. The store itself is nothing to look at. Absolutely no frills. The displays are very limited. My friend found what she wanted online and we just went to get it. When we were asked if we needed help, my friend showed him (Kenneth) the pic on her phone. He knew exactly where it was and loaded it on the dolly for us. She also had the added challenge of this being for her second story balcony open to the elements. Kenneth had some real good tips on what to use to help seal it up. Even though we didn't buy mortar, he walked us by it and explained what our choices are. After the cashier rung us up, Kenneth loaded the tile into the car. He was so helpful answering questions from customers the whole time he was loading tile or showing us a product. He was very helpful overall and very knowledgeable. WAY WAAAAAAAY more knowledgeable and willing to help that those other big 2 chain warehouse home improvement stores. read more

Max is the BEST, period! Now here's why, my contractor left the store without a receipt for a pallet of retuned tile WITHOUT proof of the return, thus I did not receive a refund for the returned tile. I called the store on Dacoma and explained my issue to Max. Max exceed all my expectations, he truly wanted to help me. He was polite, quick and most efficient. You normally don't get exceptional customer service at a big box store but Max is that rare gem. I can't say enough good things about him. What a joke about delivering- was told on 6-2 delivery would be made on 6-7. Paid 135 for delivery less than 5 miles from the store it's at. Called on 6-6 at 12:37 to check on delivery time we live 1 hour from house. Have no clue if it's even going to be delivered on 6-7- third party vendor will make arrangements. Told it could be delivered or it might not be delivered 6-7. Really why is this something totally difficult from what we were told in the store? read more

This was my first time coming to Floor and Decor and it most assuredly will not be the last. They have so many choices to choose from for whatever you would even think you may need to decorate any room in my home. I was almost overwhelmed walking around the place until Ms. Sheila and Ms. Nikita helped me out. Me. Sheila was knowledgeable about all the tiles and back splashes. She helped me narrow down my choices and hone in on what I really wanted from my description "something blue"(LOL). She also looked for some flooring choices for my mother as well which was a rat race via telephone. Then, Ms. Nikita helped me out with a few stylistic choices and helped me make some final decisions based on if the choices I wanted could stand up to everyday use, heat, water, steam, KIDS, etc (LOL). Lastly, Ms. Kelly helped to navigate shower door choices as their exhibit is still fairly new. I am a contractor and I practice safety because and in respect to my clients and love ones. I visit floor and decor almost weekly for supplies. I was in tube store on Monday evening when a gentleman walked in wearing a mask around his chin mouth and nose exposed. I asked the cashier "jackie" if they did not enforce the mask ordinance. Jackie strutted her shoulders as if she did not create and said she cannot do anything about it. I advised her she could do something about it because mask are mandatory and this would be for the safety of all customers. Jackie shrugged her shoulders again as if to say " so what, or I Don't care" I have to ask myself " if floor and decor does not care about customer safety, then do I really want to do business with a company that would jeopardize my health and all those whom I am in contact with? read more

Went in to look for tile to match our existing travertine. Found Ronnie and he offered to help me. He went and got a cart and helped me find 3 great options just on the first aisle. He was able to tell me what each aisle had to offer and the differences in the types of tile. He even loaded my choices into the cart and labeled them for me with my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices. I am a very indecisive person so it takes me a long time to makes decisions, but with Ronnie's help it was quick and easy. He also helped me find grout cleaner and stain for another project. Horrible business practices. We purchased thousands of dollars of tile flooring. Our order had to be picked up at 2 different locations since there was not enough in stock here at Almeda. We picked up our order without issue from the North store. When our contractor went to pick up the remaining materials from Almeda, they sent him on a wild goose chase, and sent him back to the North store (which is not even remotely close). When he arrived at North store, they informed him that the order had been picked up (which was correct, it was already picked up by us). When we called to inquire about our missing order, we were informed that our order had been sold accidentally to another customer later, due to the cashier Desiree, ringing up the order wrong. We had to wait an extra 3 days before our order was filled. That is 3 days of LOST rebuilding, as everything came to a halt waiting on our pre-paid tile. Employees were not very helpful in resolving this issue, and never took accountability for their mistake. Total lack of customer service. Look elsewhere for your flooring needs. read more

This place is absolute garbage!! Their customer service is awful!! We had to get our tile ordered because it was not in stock. We waited 2 weeks. When it was finally at the warehouse, there was so much confusion about where my merchandise was located. I drove over there to see what was going on just to find out that my merchandise was still in distribution head quarters and it would be probably another week before it was at the store where I purchased it. I bought 11 boxes of engineered wood and a associate put it all on my cart for me because I have a bad back. I checked out and went home. When my workers were installing the floor the open and noticed one of the boxes was different. I brought the box back and the manager Jenna, removed the tape and open the box and said it was missing pieces. Ok asked her how many comes in a box, she replied "22". So started counting and when I got to 11, she said I am not taking it you can count it, but I am not taking it back. BS, I didn't even finish counting yet and she already determined and walked away saying she will not take it. She was rude and PMsing or something.... read more
