The path to completion was a long and at points a frustrating one. The office scheduling, updates on when installer would arrive seemed a challenge. Multiple days and half days were wasted, when we expected work to be done. They have to remember our time is valuable!! I suspect short staff and juggling customers was done due to too much work. The 2-3 week estimate was actually a 6 week project. There were contract terms that were confusing in parts. It had us buy wall & ceiling paint for touch up, but they wanted more $ for this. We ended up hiring a painter unexpectedly. They didn't want to move the fan, until I pointed it out in the contract. I am writing this so people know some of the pitfalls, as we maybe have 1-2 big projects, vs. companies doing it everyday. 5 Stars for workmanship, 2-3 stars for office scheduling and accuracy. When I called back she said I needed to pick out the flooring before they gave me a price. I already had their samples and prices so I ask her for the square foot measurement and she said she could not give me that until I chose a floor product. What the hell!.. What kind of game are these people playing? Right then and there I knew something was fishy. I have redone 7 homes in the past 10 years in VA, FL and Tennessee and never encountered this way of doing business. All I wanted was the measurements so I could figure out an estimated cost of where I wanted to put hardwood and where I wanted to put carpet before making a decision. She told me they don't give out that information. Now something is wrong here. I believe they were going to figure out a way to charge me more at the end result. My advice is don't do business with any flooring company if they can't disclose the measurement they took. For god's sake do they think I can't use a tape measure myself and get the square footage. Sounds like they were trying to rip me off. I told Anne just to forget it and come pick up their samples. I don't want anything hidden from me as I am the one who is spending the money. Friendly, helpful, and patient. I have used this flooring company twice and they do a wonderful job. The first time was to replace carpeting in two bedrooms. They did a great job on installation considering both rooms were full of furniture. The second time was to replace the laminate flooring. They let me know that the flooring that was down originally had been put down wrong and that was probably the reason that it had to be replaced so quickly. Again, they did a great job at putting everything down and cleaning up. I have just hired them again to replace the outdoor carpeting on the screened in patio. They were also helpful in providing some references for a company to help me with cabinets. Good local company with great staff. Definitely would use again and recommend for work.

We weren't aware we needed one and there was a sign posted that said walk ins welcome. He left us to wander the store on our own and didn't come over to ask if we had questions or pay us any attention at all really. We asked to take home a couple of samples. He gave us a business card. After a few days, I contacted him to set up a measurement appointment. He came out and did the measurements and said he'd get back to me the next day with a quote. I waited, but didn't receive the email he'd said he would send. A day or so later, I missed a call from him while working. I returned his call that afternoon, but got no response. I tried twice the next day with no results. I decided to wait until today while I wasn't working to try once more. I left voicemails every time I called. I left one this morning and got no response by their closing time today. I'm through trying to give them any business. There are too many other places to go where I would hope we'd be treated in a more considerate manner.

Our dilemma was that our newly built for us 6 year old home with porcelain tile had suffered some settlement cracks, which also cracked our floor tiles. After being shown our options and Joel making some great suggestions, we settled on a beautiful new style laminate flooring. The crew that was sent to our home for the flooring install was led by a gentleman named Jeremy who was awesome and took great pride in his work. They worked very clean and meticulously, as if it were their home they were putting flooring down in. We can not possibly explain just how happy and pleased we are with the entire process. From beginning to end, the people at Flooring Plus especially Joel McGalliard went on and above to make certain that we received exactly what we wanted. We noticed Chris, who was completing taking care of another customer. When he was finished, he was glad to answer our questions. Chris explained the difference in the floors, and why certain floors will suit our needs. We chose several samples and he told us the difference in the tiles and specified honing our choice to the correct tile, not the most expensive, that will suit us. He gave us so much information we were unaware of, I photographed our final choice of tile we decided upon. We decided to go home and think about all the information that was given and we'll be making a decision soon. I have a feeling we'll end up returning to Floor Authority when we've come to a decision. Many floor tiles at big box stores look like great deals, but in the long run will end up being problems. Although when we left, no decision was made, Chris was happy to let us go home and think about the plethora of information provided. I think he knew so much about the products they sell, he knows we'll be back. I will update.

Long story short, waited to hear from them after about 3 weeks - nothing. So I called and spoke with the gal at the front desk (sorry can't remember her name). She remembered they were going to get a sample, couldn't find it - was going to call me back. Well here we are - no call, not even a "we are checking on it", etc. So obviously I will have to find someone else to help - they have lost any future business and/or referrals from me. I know it wasn't a big job but obviously there is no customer care there anyway. Their loss!
