We recently had flooring installations done at our home by George and his team from Floor Depot in San Jose, and we couldn't be more happier with the results! Talk about customer experience and they nailed it start to finish. Referred by a friend, we visited their shop to browse materials and found plenty of options in engineered flooring, vinyl, and laminate. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, helping us understand the pros and cons, trends, and pricing of each option. Next, George came over to our house and was very easy to talk to. He understood our needs, suggested improvements we hadn't thought of, and did a thorough measurement of the entire house. We spent a lot of time looking for and researching the right store and contractor to install the flooring in our home. We quickly realized that the big box stores were never going to be able to provide the quality and lack the skills to provide the type of flooring we wanted. We also have a multi level house and required custom work especially on the stairs as we wanted to change out the aged looked as part of the install. That's when we found fFoor Depot and their owner George. The store had a wide selection of flooring at a reasonable price (and installation) and the staff there were helpful without any pressure involved in the sales process. We were interested in wood flooring and carpet and they sell and install both. The floor installers and George are very knowledgeable in the work they do, (for example making sure the sub floor is level before installing the wood planks), they are also very careful and really take their time to make sure the quality level is very high in what they are doing. The whole installation process took around 4 weeks once they started, overall we had a great experience. George is very approachable and always willing to help answer any questions we had during the install process. If there's any criticism it would be that they could be a little more efficient with their time and work faster, but as mentioned above, they take their time to make sure the quality of their work remains high. I spoke with Michael, who was very informative and I came in to the office. Very quickly, he showed me various options based on what I was looking for and helped me efficiently decide what was the best fit, for families, children, and pets. He gave me pros and cons and various price ranges and style themes and thickness quality. I felt very comfortable after meeting with him that I had selected the best option. From there, I met with George on site who completed measurements and took me through the installation process and timelines. In truth, five stars isn't enough. I am SO incredibly impressed with their customer service. This review is based on shopping for flooring, and not for installation. I'm a single woman and I greatly appreciate that I wasn't "talked down to" or given the "hey, little lady" treatment. Nothing grinds me more. Instead, I was treated with respect. Cole assisted me with the selection of the flooring, and Mike took care of the sale. In fact, Mike remembered which flooring sample I took home, which was impressive because that means he was paying attention. He was always easy to talk to which again was greatly appreciated. Not that I had a lot of questions, but it was clear that he was there to help. Picking up the flooring there was easy; they loaded it onto the truck for us. But the thing that got me was that Mike called me as I was on my way home after having picked up the flooring and apologized that because of being on a phone call, he wasn't available to help me with the pick-up. Because of supply issues it took maybe three months for Floor Depot to get the flooring we were looking for but he let us know that from the beginning. He gave a quote that was ultimately accurate, and also finished on schedule (a week). Seamless transition to rest of the flooring in the kitchen. Very nice staircase landing work. The team of contractors paid good attention to detail on the last day of cleanup. There was some damage to walls and side baseboards that they mostly addressed. They got rid of most of the glue that seeped out of the flooring done on the stairs and offered to come back if anymore glue seeped out. I highly recommend this company! It took us over a year to find this beautiful engineered wood from Floor Depot. Work started in December 2024 and from day one the company was very attentive to our needs. The installers showed up at 8:30 a.m. everyday like clockwork. They had to demolish carpet & 2 types of tile and level the floor before starting to put down the wood. Very professional & detail oriented. They also did an excellent job re-doing the tile around our fireplace. We never had a problem communicating with George or the installers. They were able to keep our refrigerator inside the house so that we could access it at night, as we lived exclusively upstairs for 11 days. They painted and installed our baseboards right up to Christmas Eve day. They went above and beyond for us! The cost was better than other big-name flooring companies we had considered; and the selection was better. When people come into our home, they want to know what company did the work. After getting over sticker shock from a quote for full flooring replacement from our kitchen contractor, I messaged George to install LVP flooring. Although he didn't carry our preferred material in stock, he ordered it and held while I waited (months!) for my contractor to be ready. When the week came, we gritted our teeth for what we thought would be the most disruptive part of our kitchen remodel, going in to all the bedrooms. How nice to be so wrong! George was ready when he said he'd be, even after I was forced to reschedule him twice. His team was professional, clean, and did high quality work. They finished in exactly the time they told us, and blew us away with the quality of the finishing details. They pulled up the old flooring, leveled the subfloor, addressed some squeaky spots, laid down the new planks, and replaced and painted baseboards. They moved all the furniture back. I had a very positive experience working with Floor Depot. Unlike my experience in some of the other local flooring places, sales associate Mike actually wanted to work with me and sent me home with flooring samples the day we met. George came to my place within a day or so to take measurements and led the rest of the project, managing to schedule the work in the very narrow window I had in between the ordering the flooring and when I was due to go back to work. The two workmen were excellent--hard-working, knowledgeable, and communicative when issues arose. I was having my living and dining room laminate replaced with luxury vinyl tile, and the guys managed to get the job done in two days even after we discovered that they had to do quite a bit of work to level my underfloor (I already knew it wasn't level). I purchased my LVP flooring from Floor Depot, which was referred to me by my general contractor. They have a large selection of flooring but the showroom is very small and if there was an organizational schema I couldn't crack the code. However, their sales staff is attentive, knowledgeable and understood what I was looking for even when I couldn't verbalize it. They helped me find the perfect floor even though the best I could do was say things like: "This is nice but I'm looking for something that's fake but doesn't look fake" or "This is pretty but there's something... but I can't explain it" or (click of my tongue against my teeth with a heavy sigh) "I don't know, this color is too... I don't know how to explain it." They let me take samples home so I could see what they would look like in my house. However, I'm a visual person so looking at an approximate 2-1/2' piece of flooring didn't give me any idea of what the end product would look like. The end result is awesome (see pic) and I'm happy I have a fake wood floor that actually looks and feels like wood. There was a couple weeks' delivery delay (normal during covid), but they notified me promptly. When my husband and I purchased our home, we knew we needed to get our kitchen floors fixed (we had shifting tiles with broken and missing grout lines). We dragged our feet because we didn't know where to start. Fast forward several years later (when we were a little less house-poor, lol), I stumbled across Floor Depot by chance. I worked with Cole and he took the time to explain the differences between SPC and WPC flooring, and patiently answered about 100 more questions. I wasn't ready to take the plunge just yet but knew I would absolutely come back based on first impressions. Once I was ready to gift my family new kitchen floors, we got the ball rolling with picking out samples and scheduling for George to come out to inspect my floors and get measurements. My kitchen was approximately 200sqft and although considered a small project, Cole and George were willing to squeeze me in their busy schedule to get their crew out to complete the project. Several things I observed and really appreciated: 1. George removed his shoes upon entering my home - without being asked! (he is the FIRST one to ever do that! Thank you!!) 2. On Demo day, the construction team arrived on time and spent time draping my cabinets and kitchen entry way with plastic to keep dust out. 3. George came by several times throughout the construction phase as well as once the floors were completed to meticulously inspect the work. 4. Ten stars! Summary: George and his crew (2 guys) did an excellent job, no squeaks, and installation was quality. Price was competitive or might have been the cheapest. Longer review: I had 1/4" maple hardwood floors, carpet, and old hardwood - so three different types of flooring. I wanted a clean look with no texture nor grooves (because in my past house, it was hard to clean the cracks when pasta sauce fell in it for instance). The options I pondered were: sand the existing floors and use a tint. But we had the carpet area that had to be pulled out and even and I was worried things wouldn't match. Plus the house already had two other types of hardwood. Other option was to rip everything out and just replace with vinyl but I heard hardwood floors sell better. So in the end, decided to put vinyl plank on top of everything (it was cheaper than hardwood and there wasn't a hardwood design I liked). I wanted to keep my existing baseboards (mostly didn't want to reinstall and repaint) and keep the existing hardwood. I met with four other contractors who all told me to rip everything out and start new. (George worked with me on my criteria.) The visit to the store was excellent, Edvard was patient and answered my questions (first time newbie on floors), plus Floor Depot was the only store with the type of floor I was looking for. The brightest floor with no texture nor grooves. (I went to Floor & Decor plus about 5 other floor stores around Junction Rd.) George came by and was efficient with measuring (very fast actually). He sent me a detailed quote for materials and a separate one for installation. It listed everything in detail (unlike the other ballpark quotes I received). Once I confirmed we wanted to move ahead, I got a Quickbooks invoice to pay the deposit (and the final bills, split in two). On the installation date, George's team came by and had a long lumber stick they used to measure the levelness of the existing floor. I had no idea how uneven the floors were! George also walked across the floor and pointed out where the squeaks were. His team put (concrete?) to even out the floor first and then put plywood on top. His poor team worked until 8pm on some nights and my house has no AC in the summer. His team was still smiling though! Because of the extra height on the floor (cement and plywood), his team shaved the bottom doors and made sure they all closed properly. When all was done, it looked excellent and George did a walkthrough with me. I pointed out a few minor things and his crew came by the next day to fix things. Side note: I mentioned to George that I wanted to do other home remodeling items but didn't have a contractor. George brought two contractors to look at windows. I didn't hire the window guys but really appreciate George going above his current job responsibility to help me out. Attaching various photos from start to end.
