Cannot recommend. Very sloppy installation and finishing. Poor communication resulting in receiving lower quality planks with many visible, open knotholes. Installers made poor choices when placing visually defective planks in high traffic areas. very poor transitions between wood and tiled areas and all kinds of debris was sealed into the finish. Our walls were in need of extensive paint touchups when all was done. They offered to redo some sections of the floor that we were unhappy with but they could not guarantee a color or texture match, which did not instill much confidence. The only positive is that we are very pleased with the stain color which took some trial and error and we appreciated the technician's patience. But otherwise the installation was a very disappointing experience all around. Update: After reading this review management refused to correct gaping spaces at doorway transitions. I would like to give a five star review to Precision flooring. We had a situation where my original flooring installer went out of business only two years after doing my install. In addition, my floor pattern was discontinued. The stair nose on our step from the kitchen to the family room was cracked badly, ready to break off and needed repair. After reaching out to a few other companies who wouldn't even return my call, I was frustrated. I met Don the owner when he came out to do some work for my employer. He took a look at the photos I had and asked me to come down to Precision to see what we could do about matching a different piece of stairnose. He ordered the piece of stairnose for me and a week later sent Eduardo out to do the install. Eduardo showed up a few minutes early which was refreshing. We spent over $30K on Precision Flooring installing Cortec vinyl planks throughout our 3,000-plus square foot home and it was worth every cent! In fact, the new flooring has probably increased our home value by at least $100k. Ours was a very complicated job with lots of tile, grout and carpet that had to be removed and tricky angles where the new flooring had to be installed. However, in the end, we are very happy with the results and have received many compliments on how the new flooring brightens up our house and makes it look much more contemporary. We are grateful to the staff at Precision Flooring for their high quality work and customer service. We looked at S & G Carpets and The Floor Store, so why did we choose and now recommend Precision Flooring? Ratings: Yelp and Next Door ratings were consistently high. Wanted to add our two cents today with our high rating. Estimator: Our sales person Tim was a former installer so when he came to our house to do the estimate, he got down on the floor and pointed out some of the concerns the competitors missed. He also showed us where we could save money with the installation. Price: Their estimate was a couple thousands less then the competitors, who couldn't match the price. Crew: Chino and Oscar did a meticulous job installing the floors. They worked hard to make sure the angles, cuts and transitions were done beautifully. Aneas was very passionate about using the correct color and types of paint on the trims and touch-ups. His attention to detail really paid off as he didn't miss a spot! And Ricardo did a nice job installing the carpet Hollywood style on our stairs. Customer Service: Chris was helpful with the billing and Erica professionally managed all the phases of the installation, which took about three weeks. I was referred by a construction engineer to Precision Flooring and I can't thank him enough for the referral. Don Gupton, the owner, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The installation crew ~ Anthony, Mario and Rick did an amazing job!! This is the 3rd floor I've had installed (it's a long story complete with water damage, etc.). Anyhow, I was never able to have the baseboard lay flush with the flooring before...always had to have quarter round installed to cover up the gaps. These guys hit it out of the park! Perfection is their standard. I also love my flooring ~ Hallmark Floors ORGANIC 567, color Gunpowder. We are mid-job as I write this so I will be sure to update afterward. While the quality of the work appears to be excellent, the management/process has not been very smooth. After days of work were completed, it was determined that the wood put in would not match the rest of the house!! So they basically had to start from scratch, tearing out the wood again, replacing it again. Super frustrating but mistakes happen I guess. What is more frustrating is the challenge to reach our sales contact and get a clear schedule of what will be done, and when. Not sure why that has been an issue. That makes things challenging as we have hired them during quarantine and need to share the space or make plans to work from home somewhere else, especially during the noisiest parts. Let's just say one of us stayed in a hotel for a few days but the schedule changes due to the wood error meant no actual work was done during that time. Quality of the work was fantastic, transparency in the process and cost was not. All in, they came in ~$2300 over what was quoted (about a 20% increase). One issue was flagged to me mid project (floor needed to be floated with plywood) and I asked for the quote before they continued (I was at work). No quote given, finished the work before I had a chance to approve. This added $1300 to my overall bill. When I contacted them to provide feedback about not having the chance to make a decision, their response is that they don't have time to get every change order approved. If you don't want to be surprised with significant additional costs, I'd steer clear. 5 stars for the subcontractors who refinished my floors. Wish I had their contact info as I would happily use them again. read more

Three years ago, Precision installed an engineered hardwood oak flooring throughout our home. We have been very pleased with it. Then came a big surprise: at one end of the living room the oak flooring had turned black! It was a water leak from a faulty drain in the bathroom behind the living room. Frantically, we called Precision to see what could be done. The owner, Don Gupton (sp?) came over and told us he has an employee named Anthony who could remove and repair the flooring. We were skeptical about how a repaired floor would look, but we had to do it. Anthony was amazing! What a craftsman! He fitted the new flooring so well you could never tell there had ever been a problem. Plus he restored the sheet rock of the wall that had been removed to repair the leak. He taped, textured and painted the wall. Again, you could never tell there had been an issue. All this in one day. Thank you, Anthony and Don. read more

We just had our floors done by Precision, and they exceeded our expectations! There are sooo many flooring companies out there, not to mention stores that sell the materials for you to install yourself. It was overwhelming to us at first with the materials and options. We also recieved quite a few quotes from different companies. We were at our wit's end until we found Precision. They have so many flooring options in their showroom, but they are really cool and let you borrow samples so you can see how they look in your house before you commit. SO glad we did because the colors we originally liked did NOT look good in our house! Once we decided what we wanted and made the decision to go forward, we were on a huge time crunch as my baby was due soon and we wanted the work to be completed before then. Precision was able to schedule us right away, AND completed the job in the time frame they gave us in the beginning. With that being said, the work wasn't rushed, nor sloppy. They did a thorough job and every detail was taken into consideration, including painting of the baseboards. The floors turned out even better than we expected and we have already received numerous compliments! HUGE thanks to Tim, as well as the installers Rick and Mario! I'm not normally a guy who does bad ratings, but this time I'm pulling back my previous rating and giving them a 1-star rating this time round, since I have a 2nd house, were Precision Floors installed a new redwood oak floor and the quality is terrible, I've given them the opportunity to fix the issues, but they wouldn't commit to any timeline for fix these. When I pressed "Glenn" on the timing, he actually got really aggressive with me, and started quoting, "So What", "So What!", we don't do this date then ..."So What!".... Wow, are these guys kidding me? They screw-up not only the scheduling of my job, but do a lousy job of finishing it, with unfilled holes in the floor everywhere the nails went in, and the stair thread under moulding they put installed backwards ... and their attitude to fixing this and the floor is "So What"? As an existing customer I'm very disappointed! ... so whatever you do, do not do a repeat business install with these jokers, they treat their existing customers like garbage. If they keep this up, they'll be out of business in a year or two. read more

I wanted flooring installed in my condo and Don came out for the quote. I listened to his suggestions and he was passionate about what he was recommending and although I wasn't I decided to go ahead. I couldn't be happier with the results. What a difference this makes. Evi and Rick came out and did the job and the workmanship is just incredible. The precision of the cuts and angles of the flooring that was laid was superior. Evi certainly has a skill that left me standing in ah. Everyday the guys cleaned up the work area, carried out the waste, and left no traces of debris anywhere on the premises. I was totally please with everything including the fact the material ordered was exact. The second time I needed flooring less than a year later i went with another company's because the bid was $1K more than I anticipated. I pointed that out and was told by Don that his labor costs went up a lot. Well Don's attitude wasn't very pleasant this time and I decided to go with the other company who did a great job matching everything up with the first job. read more

In cases like this one, it is hard to give you a review... but here is how I broke it down: 1. How did my floors come out? (Four Stars) 2. Customer Service (One Star) 3. Office Staff (One Star) 4.Communication: Responsiveness to e-mails and phone calls (One Star) 5. Met timeline (One Star) 6. Stayed within budget (One Star) The average of what I thought was important is 1.5 stars out of 5. See the reasons below. When they were hired, we had a hard date of when we wanted to project completed. They promised that it would be done by a certain date and for a certain amount of money. As of yesterday, it was completed a month later than expected and cost more than original estimates. I am o.k. with missed expectation when there is good communication but it was not the case in this situation. When we came upon our move in date, the floor was not complete. The reason I think it wasn't completed in the time it was requested was because the workers were constantly taking cell phone breaks and chatting with each other. There was no one to supervise them so everything took longer than expected. So then came the second, "must be finished by" date. That day they arrived late and still didn't complete the job as they should. I finally had to ask them to leave so I could have dinner with my parents who came in for Christmas. So then came the "follow up" day. They didn't show up. They said they made a mistake and went the wrong house. This was upsetting in that I was waiting for two and a half hours for them to show up. Next was the final "please please please finish the floors" day. They showed up 40 minutes late, and made excuses of why the floor boards were not flush against the walls. When I said, "can you at least try," they went to work on putting extra nails in the walls. This fixed the problem as I expected. There was one corner where the base didn't touch the floor. The worker later said "Oh.. it's because no one nailed the board in." (Sigh) As for the office staff, the receptionist was never helpful when I called. When I called to say no one came to my house, she told me "call this number." I said "Can I have the area code?" She sighed and gave it to me. Then I said, "Who am I calling?" She gave out another sigh... and said "my boss." This made me wonder.. why isn't she calling her boss and why is an area code and a name an annoyance? When I called for a final invoice, I was transferred again to her boss. I think it's strange she can't do basic job functions. Through out the job, I was requested to pay my invoice even thought the job was not completed. This annoyed me. Here is my compliment. There was one man on the job who I really respected. He came to my house to hand scrap and hand stain the wood for my living room steps. He was in his late 50's, and took so much care in what he was doing that I really saw the beauty of the project. Thank you. Overall the floors looks great now but I would not recommend or use this company again. read more

I contacted Precision Flooring after we had a different contractor completely mess up our floor install and cause damage to our subfloor. Tim met with to assess the damage and give me an estimate on installing LVP (vinyl that looks like plank hardwood) in a large basement playroom and a flight of stairs. He gave me an estimate that included repair of the subfloor and installation. He brought in a materials expert that could give us a better idea of the proper way to level and repair the subfloor, and we determined that a demolition crew to remove the improperly poured cement on top of the subfloor was necessary first. Tim helped me find a company to do that portion of the job - he went above his job responsibilities to help us get our project back on track. After we had the cement removed, Evi of Precision Flooring and his crew came and spent days grinding down and leveling our subfloor. He worked tirelessly for several days to help us achieve a near-perfect result. He communicated clearly with me daily and was professional and courteous. More than this, it was clear he wanted to make sure that I was satisfied with the work at every step of the way. The pictures of our floor installation speak for themselves. The work is seamless. I know this wasn't easy to achieve, because I saw his attention to detail as he worked. It is clear that this is Evi's craft and that he takes pride in his work. I got to see more of his hard work when he completed some tricky installation issues that came up on the stairs. We ended up needing new baseboards and added them to our contract last minute (our previous contractor was supposed to provide them, but didn't). Tim worked with me to select ones that fit the style of our basement, and Evi and Oscar installed them promptly. Finally, Aeneas, Precision's painter, came to touch up the baseboards and the area around the stairs. He was pretty cool, too, and gave our project the finishing touches. Overall, we are grateful to the whole team for making this process as smooth as possible for us and delivering a beautiful product that our family hopes to enjoy for years to come. Precision Flooring just finished a carpeting project for us (completed yesterday). The entire team was a pleasure to deal with, starting with Don. Don came out to assess the project, helped us navigate the various carpet choices and provided a very reasonable estimate. When I expressed concern over what it would take to make the floor stop squeaking, Don explained what they've experienced (and it wouldn't be as much of an issue as I thought it might be). The team that did the tear-out, floor prep and baseboard work were great to work with. Don was right (of course) - resetting the nails holding the subfloor to the joists took care of the squeaking. The carpet installation team (Fred and Rich) did a great job. They know their stuff. Fred shared details of what he was doing and why he was doing it (like the kind of seam tape he used). The carpet is beautiful. After they finished the installation, I noticed Fred was working on the carpeting on our stairs (which we had installed by another company many years ago). I guess the carpeting was a little loose in spots, so he decided to fix it because "it was bothering him". Great service and a great experience. Beyond the call of duty! Great job on laying out new hardwood for my house remodel. A special shout out to Everardo and Bennet who performed the task in the most professional way. Incredibly pleasant and warm, and came in every day with a smile. They were so patient as we went back and forth with our architects as to what direction to lay the planks--and never had a problem readjusting the layout. The ultimate result is awesome! But more than that, I had a nasty fall in another part of the house while they were here. They came running when they heard the thud, lifted me and carried me to a safe place, called the paramedics and stayed with me till we got help.
