Honest, timely, budget friendly, super attentative are just a few adjectives to describe Jeff and his team. They were absolute life savers in this time of COVID. I have heard horror stories of remodeling houses from all around me that I really prayed it won't happen to us with our first place we call home. OC contractors gave me cheaper quotes on a piece of paper with 10 items they will work on. Jeff sent me virtual outlook of the kitchen as well as meeting us at a park to show us the materials we can choose from. Him and his sweet team were prompt and efficient and most of all did not surpass the quote. I am forever and truly grateful for and to them. I recently purchased a condo that needed some updating. The original dark cherry wood floors were out-of-style and scuff'd up beyond repair. The DIY wallpaper was peeling off and the whole place needed a fresh coat of paint. And as always, there were little things here and there that needed patching and fixing up. I've never hired a contractor before, so I had no idea what I was getting into. The only thing I knew is that the work needed to be done right. After speaking to several friends who've all gone through their own renos, they were able to set me straight on what to expect and what it would realistically cost to get it professionally done. Buying a house is easy compared to finding the right contractor to fix it up for you! When we found Jeff, Chang and his team on Yelp they were incredible and really helped us create our dream home. The Renovation: Our renovation involved completely gutting a 1,200 sq ft condo which needed new flooring in all rooms, new kitchen, new bathrooms, paint job, baseboard, the works! For such a large undertaking, most people have horror stories when it comes to Contractors but Jeff and his team made it easy for us and in fact "saved the day" after we tried our hand with a first contractor. Flooring: From the day we met Jeff he was extremely knowledgable of his speciality product, being floors, and made us immediately feel confident that he was the right person to complete our flooring throughout the condo - which included a concrete looking microtop downstairs, waterproof vinyl upstairs, and wooden stairs. Given the age of our 1976 condo, Jeff ensured all flooring was prepped and leveled perfectly. For downstairs this included raising our kitchen area by 3 inches and also redoing the staircase which was in horrible shape when they saw what was underneath the original carpet. Cost: Jeff submitted to us very competitive bids at each stage of the renovation. He was always open regarding cost and ensured that he stayed within the amount quoted and if he was unable to would explain why and the extra work required (which in most cases was due to a plumbing or electrical issue which required speciality work). We felt his price point was perfect (and more affordable than our expectations) given the level of quality and service we got throughout the process. Timing: While Jeff may have been a little hard to lock in (he's a popular guy!), once he was working on our project he worked efficiently and made quick progress. He did not take excess time and for the most part completed the project on time and on budget. Communication: Jeff and his team were extremely communicative throughout the renovation. My husband was the primary project manager (having a design and architecture background) but Jeff ensured that I was a part of all of the decision making and always in the loop on progress. The coolest thing was that he would send us photos each day with what progress was made. Overall: Jeff and his team were phenomenal and I couldn't recommend them enough! All I know is that if we EVER have any work to be done we will definitely go to Jeff! read more

He personally comes on site for the estimate, & is there the entire process, even text you photos of the work, & does the final walk through Chang leads the installation crew. He seriously is meticulous about the work, and I felt very safe leaving my home to him & his crew. Doesn't matter if it ultimately gets covered (subfloor concrete & wood), it's all craftsmanship in the small details. I'm talking perfect circle holes to allow cables, seams & corners. Even doing extra work that was not specified on contract or our conversations, but just to ensure customer happiness. The showroom is appointment only, but totally worth a visit to pick out your actual flooring, baseboards, etcetc. So many options & they aesthetically superior, while being competitively priced. They encourage you to take samples home to really love the flooring you end up purchasing. I was probably there every Saturday! Jeffrey and his team from Floor Zone just finished up a two day installation of bamboo flooring in my condo and I couldn't be happier! Jeffrey is extremely knowledgable, and took the time to walk us through the process, answer questions, and helped us make the right choices so that we are thrilled with the final product. It's clear that everyone at Floor Zone is a professional and takes tremendous pride in their work. Chang, who leads the installation team, is a real craftsman, and took the time to insure lots of small details were done correctly and with precision. And he even did some extra work that I wasn't charged for (i.e. painting our baseboards) because he felt it was important that he left the room properly finished. The only thing I would caution, is that these guys are in high demand. It took a little bit of playing email and phone tag for Jeffrey and I to finally connect (I think the word is out that they do good work, and they're getting lots of requests). But if you're able to be patient, and a little flexible with your time, you'll be happy with the results. These guys are the real deal, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family or friends. What pains me to write this outstanding review is that I need Jeffrey and the team to come back for the second phase of installation later this year, and I'm afraid that he'll be so busy from new business driven by all these perfect reviews that he won't have time for me! I found Floor Zone here on Yelp after initially trying to work with very disinterested big box home improvement stores for floor installation. I went on blind faith based on the reviews here, and it's the best thing I have done in my remodeling process. With so many accurate facts about Jeffrey and Floor Zone described in the reviews below, I'll try to contribute what made a difference for me. Doing the job right: Jeffrey insisted that I'd be present to inspect the concrete floors with him once the original flooring was removed and disposed. He painstakingly pointed out the concrete issues such as cracking and unevenness, requiring crack repair and laying a self leveling layer. Did I want to spend the extra money on this? No. Did I want to have the best job possible done for a fair price? Yes. Go for it. Technology and Information: Jeffrey provides links to information so you can inform yourself about the process, materials, etc. He also uses his GPS to inform you exactly when he will be arriving (unlike the "I'll be there between 9 and 1 today" approach used by so many vendors. Flexibility, Trust and Cleanliness: Jeffrey worked with me and my travel schedule so I could have the wood installation completed while I was away on a business trip. I happily gave him a set of keys to my place, left them a case of water in the fridge to stay hydrated, and left them to do their magic. I came home to a beautifully completed job! Also exciting was that their clean up left my place in better condition than when I left (given the couple of months of dusty renovations work). Jeff and his crew are very very trustworthy. Even if i do not know the magnitude of the costs involved in the job, i felt he charged me an extremely fair price for the entire second floor. the amount of labor that they pack into each and every day is incredible. considering how large the budget was for this project (to me), i completely trusted them to finish everything on time and on the dollar. everytime home owners do a rennovation, there is this scary feeling of the unknown that something bad will happen. there were several issues that jeff and crew took care for us like cutting the doors to the right level, reinforcing walls at the subfloor with concrete and shaving down all parts of the floor after applying the plywood for the subflooring. i went into this project because i was very sensitive to movement on the floors. i was dizzy when the old subfloor wood was not level. what is a subfloor? its the plywood undernieth your visible floor. for a second level, that is bearing all the weight of all objects and accidents that happen up there. so this was the most important thing for me. they took the entire floor apart and reinforced it with sister joists with the 1x2's. lots of them! and they were all straight with lasers! while taking things apart and putting the new subfloor in and all up to nailing in the new flooring planks, they were very careful with the pipes that were very close to where they were working. they would cut test cuts out to ensure they dont hit any gas, electrical or water lines. this was very reassuring to me since i just came out of a remodeling project where the contractor had to fix something they cut into. it was so scary. i just trust these guys with my house so much. because they are so careful, i am keeping them in my "people to call" list when i need something done in the future. these guys dont just do the job, but they really explain to you what happens before, during and after the job. educating me on water damage, floor care and bounding of expenses. if they find that the building structure is not safe for them to work on, they will stop what they are doing and work with you to make it so. i was so relieved to learn i didnt have such a condition, but good to know they wont just cover things up to finish the project. they also explained to me how to keep the new flooring from warping and expanding too much with temperature and moister checks. jeff also welcomes every call i make which was very reassuring. one time i tried to compare home depot prices to his on the flooring planks and he pointed out to me why the home depot ones were inferior. he also reassured me of the natural wood rebounds was normal. even at the parking lot before handing him the first payment, i asked him about the strength of the flooring at the edges of the rooms were they stop cutting. he explained to me that it was completely safe and strong. i was so greatful for his explanations. they are also really flexible and accomodating when i called him a couple days before the work started if he could also demolish the master bed room vanity so we can do that little flooring as well he accomodated it without extra costs. incredible. he stands by his work so much that he is willing to show other work in progress to new customers. that is amazing pride and deservedly so. the end product craftsmanship is incredible. you cannot locate one nail even when i hear nail guns going off every few seconds while i was downstairs one morning. they also did my stairs and the transition from the stairs to the rest of the second level was seemless! they were very attentive to support and load bearing areas and to make sure those areas were reinforced. small corner areas where plywood was not be enough would be covered with stronger material. cost bounding was very important to me. i was so scared that it would overrun my budget , but it turns out only a few hundred dollars was added to make the staircase stronger and more presentable. they stand by their work and it shows, he explained to me that in a couple instances the contrast on wood planks was too great in a prominent walking area and they had to rip it out and redo it. the cost was absorbed by them. incredible. you see the quality. now i must explain to you the difference between a 17-18k floor job vs a 5-6k floor job. the 5-6 is really just about flooring material and removing carpeting. the 17-18 k is about full structure stability and leveling and then the flooring goes on top. i tell you, my subflooring is so beautiful that i could live with it without the wood flooring LOL. so straight, so sturdy, so well layed out in a staggered pattern with expansion gaps so straight. sorry for the long review, but this is coming from the heart, i was so scared of second floor falling apart, they came to the rescue with incredible care, precision and cost. these guys are really nice and really clean on top of the other incredible things they do. read more

I had been searching in vain for a specific pattern of cork flooring before I found the very helpful and knowledgeable Jeffrey Cha at Floor Zone. He took the time to track down enough of an affordable imported cork for two rooms from two locations in the US. Our house is a century old and the sub-floors would have ideally been replaced; an unaffordable option for us. Rather than demo and rebuild, the crew found ways to repair and add to the existing sub-floor. Jeffrey, his father, and the two gentlemen that work with them did a wonderful job of leveling one of the floors that needed to be shored up, at a price that was remarkable. All four men were incredibly hard working, thoughtful, considerate, and great with each other which made them a pleasure to do business with. They went above and beyond to make everything look wonderful with small detail work on the floor and trim- I even caught Mr. Cha Senior caulking gaps between the trim and my ceiling- so thoughtful! I was really dreading doing the floors in the kitchen and bathroom in the future but now that I know about these fellows all my fears have been dispersed and I can't wait to save up the money and hire them again! An overzealous "water mitigation specialist" left with a partially ripped out floor and a sticky mess. I found Jeffrey on yelp. We were impressed at the very first meeting. This review is long overdue as I discovered Floor Zone on Yelp over a year ago, however, because of such an amazing job that Jeffrey and his team have done, I have had them continue to do work for us as recent as a few weeks ago. Jeffrey and his team started off as not the cheapest bid, however, they were not off by far and I could tell that they would do a good job and provide us the quality that we were looking for and we were right! From the initial contact he promptly returned my calls, to picking out the right flooring for our lifestyle and to the completion of the job it was 5 stars across the board!!! Since our building was older Jeffrey determined that we would need to have our subfloor replaced and then discovered there had been some shifting in the floor which they had to make level. This was a huge project alone and the guys were meticulous and did an exceptional job! In addition to the flooring we had new base board installed, sheetrock repair and painting done. All done exceptionally well! Jeffrey and his crew worked hard, came on time and committed to our project until it was finished! This was important especially since we were coordinating movers. They take pride in their work, are very detailed, are prompt and show up when they say and dedicated to make the customer happy! Floor Zone did a great job with my condo. I live in a condo that was built in the 1960s, and the floors needed replacement. Beyond the aesthetic improvement, my primary goal in the renovation was soundproofing. I selected a bamboo flooring with a layer of rubber soundproofing underneath, and the Floor Zone guys completed the renovation while I was on a trip. They did a great job, finished on time and even went above and beyond to paint one of my walls. I am impressed by their workmanship. This review is long overdue but I can judge the long-term value of Jeff and Chang's work! I spoke to Jeff about changing out the carpet to hardwood for the new home we bought. The owners had a rent back agreement for a few months while they found their new house so I contacted Jeff early in the process. I'm glad I did too because he is a busy guy in high demand. Jeff set up an appt with me at his showroom and he patiently discussed all the aspects of the hardwood installation including leveling, moisture testing, and the pros and cons of different hardwood options. I was impressed by how much detail and time he took in explaining these aspects since he was getting a lot of call on his cell from customers. Once Jeff and his team started on the job, it was very professional and I could see the quality in their work right away. I ended up doing a lot more remodeling than I planned and basically repainted the whole place, remodeled the kitchen, changed out all the toilets and ceiling fans, and changing out the fixtures. Jeff's team handled all of it, including things like removing the old satellite dish and intercom system. He gave me great advice on which improvements would hold value and I was very pleased by his recommendations (e.g. painting the cabinets and staircase white, previously maple). He also took care to do countless things to avoid problems like: * fixing all the minor issues on the home inspection report * fixing a leak in a bedroom closet * fixing cracks in the concrete for free * giving us great pricing and design suggestions for the quartz countertops, backsplash * Changing out the plumbing hoses and drains * Adding joists between the floor beams to make it more stable * My personal favorite: he got us 6" wide Brazilian engineered wood flooring at a great price and in longer lengths than they usually offer. Jeffrey and his team did an amazing job in our house! Our old flooring throughout the house was a mishmash of different styles / eras / materials--and to make things worse our 100 year old subfloor was starting to cave in. Honestly we were a little overwhelmed by how much work had to be done, but Jeffrey was super reassuring and explained the entire process from start to finish. After we chose our materials his team quickly got to work tearing out the floor and the subfloor. Straight down to the studs. His team installed sister joints to get things perfectly level, then laid down the the new improved subfloor, and finally the new floors & moulding. TLDR: if you want it done right the first time, go to jeff. jeff, chang, and the rest of the crew are skilled craftsmen and artists that take pride in their work AND IT SHOWS (check out the pics i uploaded). others will quote you cheaper prices, but what's hidden is the $$$ that you'll need to pay afterwards to fix up hastier jobs/cheaper materials/etc. knowing next to nothing about renovations, my wife and i decided to upgrade our floors, kitchen, master bathroom, powder room, and paint the entirety of our newly purchased 2100 sq ft condo. we received quotes from 4 different contractors. it was tempting to try to compare the quotes apples to apples on price alone, but we appreciated the extra detail that jeff went into in describing the work required. for example, one of our most important requirements was to replace the carpet/laminate/tile on both floors of our home and replace it with engineered hardwood floors. most of the vendors we spoke to said that replacing the floors would be cheap, just tear out the laminate/carpet, lay down some cork, and glue the hardwood floors on top. during his on site quote, jeff actually took the time to look at the floors and found they weren't level, warning us about the schedule/budget impacts for different degrees of (potentially required) remediations. on a temporary lapse in judgement (contractors can use high pressure sales tactics when they are in your house at 10PM), i actually went with another contractor who dismissed the need for the leveling. not quite feeling right at 2AM, i actually dug up the manual for the engineered hardwood online and it the manufacturer EXPLICITLY STATES their warranty requires EXACTLY what jeff was saying. upon further digging, turns out that other contractor i was talking to HAD NEVER EVEN INSTALLED ENGINEERED HARDWOOD BEFORE, so 10 hour after that debacle, i cancelled with that guy and went with floorzone. to be fair, our job did go over budget and past the initial schedule estimate. this was a combination of known unknowns (degree of floor non-levelness can only be fully assessed after demo, but for which we were made aware of before) and unknown unknowns (mold discovered in the kitchen, scope creep from additional work we requested including electrical, plumbing, and a kitchen peninsula and quartz countertop waterfall work) which, if you've ever seen any renovation show on tv, are to be expected. the hardest schedule deadline though was that my wife was 5 months pregnant when we started the renovations. the crew finished well before that hard deadline, as my wife and i are still waiting for our baby to be born... after hearing some horror stories from my coworkers on renovations (lies about licensing, lawsuits, a year over schedule, required reworks, having to brush teeth from a garden hose due to nonworking bathrooms), i feel almost spoiled at our renovation having gone so smoothly. we had ~50 people for a housewarming/baby shower a couple weeks ago and we received numerous compliments on the magazine-quality-work. we can't more highly recommend jeff and the floorzone crew. read more

We recently got our flooring done in our house. We have done some research and got quotes from other licensed contractors and Jeffrey gave us great pricing and also worked really hard to make sure that we were satisfied with the work. My first encounter with Jeffrey was over the phone months ago when I was getting pricing from different contractors and out of all the contractors that I talked to, he was really patient and explained the differences between materials and gave us helpful tips to make the right decisions. He did not sound rushed or frustrated with my questions at all and was very professional and kind. The workers who come to work on your flooring are extremely professional. I am expecting twins, so they went out of their way to limit dust in our house by covering our appliances and big furniture. I found Floor Zone through Yelp to enlist for a commercial floor job. From my first contact with Jeff of Floor Zone he was professional and well versed in all things "floor". Unlike many other companies I contacted; Jeff came in for a free estimate and proposal the day after I contacted him. I received 4-bids to add hardwood floors to my master bedroom to match the existing floors in the rest my house and finally decided to go with Jeffrey at Floor Zone. Most of the other bids I received didn't include all the finishing extras (new base boards, caulking, door swing adjustment, high quality exotic wood, etc.) and none of the others seemed as knowledgable about the process. I went with Jeffrey because he was willing to go through all the options with me and made very helpful recommendations that included removing the cement fireplace base, changing the direction of the floor layout and width of the wood to make the room feel bigger. Most importantly, he identified that my floor would need some leveling work to remove some of the high/low areas before installation to get the best result. I could tell that the floor wasn't completely level, but none of the other flooring contractors even noticed it or included it in their bids. Jeffrey knew that I wouldn't be happy if it wasn't perfect and quoted a very reasonable fee for the extra work. We purchased a home in Nov 2012 that had gorgeous exotic (and expensive!) hardwood floors. Unfortunately they were installed incorrectly and had a great deal of water damage from poor care and an indoor flood. I went to Yelp to figure out who was out there that could give us an estimate and also guide us through the process. I had several companies come to the house and give me estimates. Jeffrey was the most thorough and explained his process in a very detailed manner. He was also very patient with all my questions (and there were a lot). After our initial meeting, he sent me an estimate which was very detailed. He did explain that there were several factors on the estimate and those could only be decide upon after the old floors were removed. My husband and I went to his shop and took a look at flooring options. Jeffrey was very helpful and patient with us even though it was at the end of the day. It was the first time my husband met Jeffrey and he is a pretty suspicious person when it comes to dealing with contractors (we've been burned before). Fortunately my husband was actually quite impressed with his knowledge and detailed information. He felt that Jeffrey was very genuine and sincere in the meticulous steps he takes and his preparations. This included a "calcium chloride test" that Jeffrey insisted on and we didn't understand why until we saw the results. We found out that there was a great deal of moisture coming from our floors which then also affected the type of glue that we would need for the glue down. And that was part of the reason why our old floors were installed incorrectly and had "buckled". Interesting enough, not one other company even mentioned the importance of understand the moisture in our area and also the moisture from the concrete slab which our home is built on. Unfortunately the results of the test also meant that our estimate was now going to be increased by almost 50% (eeek!) as it needed special waterproofing material and different products but we decided that we wanted everything done correctly this time around. Jeffrey's crew was led by Chang who was on the job every day. They were very thorough in trying to help minimize the dust and keeping their materials organized after each day's work. We then also decided to demolish a little more area (front entry and fireplace) which Jeffrey did without charging us. He explained that it really wasn't that much more work so his guys did it for free. We just had to pay more for the extra wood/ materials. I did also have a price quote on materials from another contractor and Jeffrey matched the prices. I did a lot of research on product pricing and Jeffrey's prices were extremely competitive and/or way below. Jeffrey worked with us in many ways and gave us many "free" extras and upgrades that even though the flooring job cost was increased by so much, we got WAY more than we paid for. He worked really hard in helping us with certain issues (we had uneven tile and he ordered a special molding which he ordered for us and installed for free). And then he also ordered the Professional Bona Home Care system and showed us how to use it. Then he also gave us a "Deep Clean Service Credit" for a future service. There was a slight issue with some touch-up paint that Chang had applied on some scratches/marks on our walls (probably from the demolition). Apparently he tried to color match the product, but it was slightly different from the original color. Jeffrey offered to fix it if we could find the exact color but we had some difficulty in finding the color at first so we just told him not to worry about it as we would take care of it ourselves. With everything that he had already done to go over and beyond amazing service it was the least of our worries as we will probably just paint our walls a completely different color. Even so, he still took some money off the final payment as he stated that Chang had felt really bad about it. I am a very frugal person and do a lot of research on the services and companies that I do business with. Even so, I firmly believe in being fair when paying for great service and quality product. I almost feel bad for Jeffrey with all the questions, negotiations, and "nit-pickiness" but I will say I've learned a lot through this process and am very confident in recommending him to my friends and fellow Yelpers. Jeffrey and his crew definitely believe in providing the best service to their customers and they make it clear why they have so many loyal customers. Recently, my wife and I had some unfortunate water damage to our condo and particularly our hardwood floors as a result of a careless upstairs tenant who left their sink running overnight. We found Jeffrey via Yelp and were impressed with the reviews and previous clients' satisfaction with the quality of work. As we own our condo and likely plan to sell in the long term, our main concern was to ensure that our flooring look just as good as it had prior to the water damage and weren't going for the cheap, quick fix. Due to having a particular variety of exotic hardwood flooring very reddish in color (the original flooring of the condo we purchased) and difficult to match, we opted to replace all of the hardwood flooring in our unit (dining/living room and 2 bedrooms). Given that we were submitting through insurance, Jeffrey was extremely helpful in working within our budget and getting us every detail we needed to our insurance agent for them to approve the work. Jeffrey was very thorough throughout the consultation process and helped us settle on a great Armstrong Hickory deep brown and rustic in tone. As we moved into installation, Jeffrey and his crew had some difficulty in removing the existing hardwood flooring from our unit due to a very strong glue used previously. Though the job took a few days longer than planned, his team was adamant about doing the job thoroughly and up to their standards of quality and even pushed back a job they had lined up after ours to make sure they could allot enough time for the completion of our unit. Upon removing the existing flooring, Jeffrey and team sanded down the existing sub floor concrete and then applied a self-leveling concrete substance to even out some areas of our condo. Seeing the process firsthand, we realized there were many corners cut in the original installation of our previous hardwood flooring. Although the job took a few days longer than expected, my wife and I (and our dog) were ecstatic with the end result as our flooring looks significantly better than before the water damage. Everything from how tightly the floor boards were laid down, to how strategically the grains of the board were laid so as not to create any patterns, and how cleanly the baseboards were installed, it all looked amazing! We couldn't be happier with the work that Jeffrey did and for his help in turning such a stressful situation for new home owners into an improvement from our previous floors. What I thought would be another 5 minute phone call to get an estimate turned into an hour long lesson in flooring. You can immediately tell how not only transparent and detail oriented he is about quality work but also passionate. PERFECTION. From quote to consultation to install to follow up: Jeffrey and his team are the best to work with. We own a condo in an older building. Nothing had been redone or even kept in good order since the original build, so we wanted to not only update the style, but ensure the place was structurally sound and done right. We got quotes from some of the corporate chains along with Floor Zone. From the first visit to the Floor Zone showroom, Jeffrey was consultative, professional, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable creating a sense of confidence and trust. This in addition to the very competitive materials and install quote led to us choosing Floor Zone hands down. We have a 1,300+ sq. ft. condo with 2 bedrooms and a very large main living area with galley kitchen. We moved in to vinyl and carpet throughout and wanted to replace the main living area with hardwood floors (or a cost effective equivalent) and new carpet in the bedrooms. After speaking with Jeffrey about our budget, intentions, and desire, we ended up doing a high end laminate with a wood finish in the main living area, micro-finished concrete in the bar and kitchen, new carpets in the hallway and bedrooms, and new baseboards throughout. Second only to the great consultation and quote process that started it all was the install. The Floor Zone team did amazing sub-floor prep by diamond grinding existing concrete substrate, repairing cracks they found at no additional cost (!!!), & pouring self-leveling concrete. Again, this was all done with extreme care and professionalism at an extremely competitive price. Very high quality. Next, the kitchen micro-finish concrete was poured and cured for the appropriate amount of time (a couple of days). Once that was complete, the laminate was installed. The Floor Zone crew custom cut some of our wall paneling to fit the baseboards and cleaned our place to remove dust and left it in very good order. Because we were living in the condo already, all of our furniture remained stored in the condo, so they patiently worked with our timelines to work in stages but still efficiently and respected our needs. His team even hooked our appliances back up at no additional charge and did follow ups on any items that we had questions or concerns about right away. We were well informed the entire time, and any hiccups were handled and smoothed over immediately by Jeffrey. No bit of this process was difficult or stressful and we are left with beautiful, high quality floors. We have the feeling that we will be treated as clients for life and not just "one and done". Jeffrey has already spoken about follow up to assist in maintaining the gorgeous micro-finish concrete and even assist in some other, non-flooring related projects. Bottom line: Floor Zone is the best choice, hands down. Jeffrey and his team work with you as if you are their friends and family and can be trusted similarly. Jeff and his crew including his father Chang did an amazing job!! It was a big job replacing tile and old carpet from the 70s with LVT. They were very efficient and honest and explained everything they were doing. The sub floor also had to be replaced in order to get the best possible result. My husband and I were on a time crunch as our little girl was due at the end of April and we hired Jeffrey and his team to do a few big projects on our new house we bought. Floorzone was AWESOME and they kept on track with their completion date. They completely repainted the inside of the house, removed popcorn ceiling from a couple of rooms, redid our floors with amazing engineered hardwood and even redid our bathroom floor free of charge. Again, Chang and the guys were always right on time each morning, extremely punctual, very courteous, pleasant to work with, professional and hard working. They always cleaned up the work space at the end of each day. Jeffrey and Chang are very knowledgeable about how to provide clients with the best options for best results. Sometimes it adds cost, but they don't like to cut corners that sacrifice quality. They strive to make sure work is done in a quality manner that will last. When they accept a job they want to make sure it's done right the first time. They make customer satisfaction a top priority, and are very easy to reach and communicative. During the project, they quickly addressed our questions, provided answers and made adjustments if requested. Team did a wonderful job with installing new hardwood flooring in my bedroom. 90+ year old house with major settling, the height of the floor varied 3-4" depending on where you were standing in the room, including having a closet that wasn't level! Team did a complete removal of the old floor and sub-floor, re-leveled the entire room, added additional bracing and joisting to get the floor up to code, and then did a fantastic job laying down new flooring. Being a first time homebuyer is not easy. Especially when you are soooooooo busy with long hours at work and raising a toddler all at the same time. When we found our house, we knew that we wanted to do floors and get rid of the carpets, and do something about the kitchen, especially with the outdated countertop and appliances. We did not know where to start. Before hubby found the rave reviews of Floor Zone and made an appointment to see Jeff, we did go to another floor place nearby in our hood, They were rather unhelpful, and the prices seemed way too steep, and did not really give us any guidance on where to start. Feeling helpless, we did not expect much walking into that very first meeting with Jeff. Instead, we walked into Floors 101. Professor Jeff was so knowledgeable, informative and the best of all, very passionate about the topic=Floors. He explained so well how realistically our price would look like with the costs other contractors typically do not explain. We wanted to paint the house too, and we were happy to hear that he does painting. He also explained how certain types of glue used for laminate floors contain formaldehyde. I wanted a darker floor with more earthy, reddish tones. I fell in love with Santos Mahogany. Hubby wanted wide plank floors (7 inch). Fastforward a bit, we ended up with 6 inch Santos Mahogany engineered hardwood floors (still wide enough) that were environmentally friendly and still did not break our bank. Now, installation and the actual work, that's where Fantastic Chang comes in. Actually Jeff's whole crew was very professional and their attention to detail was just incredible. We had maple floors with maple banisters on the stairs. He sanded them down and spray-painted them to white perfection and now our whole house looks like a completely different house than before. The maple cabinets in our kitchen were spray-painted white too, and they also installed new countertops and backsplash and also installed some recessed lighting for us. It is a totally new kitchen now, even though we did not get new cabinets. Chang made sure to swap out the gold colored hardware (hinges and all)and changed them to chrome colored ones that fit the new white color and our new stainless steel appliances.The installation of our kitchen backsplash alone shows their craftsmanship. They made sure that all the edges look just perfect. Our kitchen is very white with white countertops, but the backsplash is where the color pops, with a mix of horizontal metallic, glass and stone tiles. Jeff has such a great eye with these sorts of design elements, and he had a great input in our choices and we do not regret any of those choices. Our kitchen was transformed from 90s maple kitchen to 21st century hip and modern kitchen. Looks like a kitchen that you would see on HGTV! Ok ok I do not want to drag this review too long. All I want to say is, let Jeff explore with you. Take him on the remodeling journey and let him help you see the things that he sees. We also did a lot of design search to find the type of style we truly wanted, and you do need to have some basic wants and needs, but Jeff will help you. You will not be disappointed.
