My husband and I had signed what was a too-good-to-be-true contract with one of the giant National flooring companies. They canceled our installation without even telling us, after we had already removed everything out of our kitchen and dining room. Floors and Kitchens Today was the only company that we could find that could do the hardwood floors that we wanted and do it fast. And it was always easy to communicate with them. Unlike other companies. I really can't believe how quickly they got it done. Mark and his team were life savers. They had to rip up thick old tile, hardwood and linoleum and they still got it done in less than 2 days. We will definitely use them again. read more

If I could give lower than a single star, I would. Sales guy talked us in to a great 3/4" oak hardwood which was better than we were looking for but still in our budget. Wait time to install date was good. Then the nightmare started. Installed took weeks for a 2-3 day job. Workmanship was poor at best. When we complained, our sales guy...when we could reach him...told us that it was just how those types of wood floors are done. Install manager came our and promised to fix everything. He even admitted that some of it should be torn up and re-done. He did come back and fix some stuff but over all, it's still not been done correctly. The last thing I would say is "Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it." read more

This company has been an absolute nightmare. The quality of the product was terrible, and the installation was even worse. It took 6 months to complete. They agreed to a very small refund ($784) of my $12k+ job to paint damaged walls, but now they won't respond to my calls, and I still haven't received payment. There is a reason they have an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. Please learn from my mistake and stay far away from this company! I am including just a few photos of the scratches, gouges, and gaps in my "new" engineered hardwood floor taken just after. I have many more. Note: I finally got a return call from Vinnie Virga when I posted a negative review on Google, where he promised to get back to me, but over a week later I have heard nothing. This is another nothing up my sleeve review. My opinions expressed here are based on my experience as a savvy consumer and interaction with this sad excuse for a merchant, your experience may vary...but I would bet not by much. This place is in my opinion a RIP OFF and whats more disturbing is that they know it but yet feel they are doing you a favor. We have redone all bathrooms and our kitchen and each time we priced them against brick and mortar as well as online and they have been AT LEAST 2x or more expensive than our lowest quote. Recently needed several boxes of flooring to finish up a project, have had difficulties with damage due to shipping from other OL supplier and wanted a local resource just so we could wrap up and have a local throat to choke if there was any damage. I called to get a quote and no surprise they were more than double what we paid online. Now the gouging was to be expected, like I said we have priced these jokers before, but when I told them that they were double my original online cost (mind you we got free shipping and no tax) they laughed and acknowledged their awareness of their outrageous pricing at which point I just hung up. As I said I would have eaten the additional cost for the time and aggravation it would have saved but I will be damned if I will sit by and purchase material from a supplier who knows they are ripping off customers and has the balls to laugh about it to your face. AGAIN IT IS MY OPINION THAT YOU SHOULD AVOID THESE CHARLATANS AT ALL COSTS EVEN IF IT MEANS ADDITIONAL TIME AND LEG WORK. Give Hurst Hardwoods a try, they are OL and have decent pricing and best of all you will have the satisfaction of not spending your hard earned dollars on these sad excuses for life forms. Also if you go through the reviews you will see a pattern and you will also see that this retailer likes to respond to negative reviews with their own negativity (not surprising to this reviewer) rather than apologize for their obvious and many failings which also says a great deal about their character or lack thereof. Again if I were you I would drop these fools like a rod of uranium and seek out a retailer who has a deep desire to make every customers purchase a pleasant experience. Now nothing is 100% except the likelihood of your having a severe case of buyers remorse should you choose to do business with these sad excuses. But again its my opinion. read more

I couldn't give a higher recommendation to the products, service and workmanship of the staff and subcontractors at Floors and Kitchens Today in Auburn, MA. They were awesome. I had a complete kitchen remodel done from the walls out. The work was done quickly and efficiently. All the various work crews were well coordinated, cordial and showed up on schedule. I asked the gentleman who installed the extremely intricate backsplash to autograph it because it was a work of art! Sam and Jesse in the store kept me well informed of progress throughout the project and were amazing in helping my daughter and me select great tile, cabinets etc. Will certainly go back for my next remodel (and maybe just to say , "Hi" and thanks again)! read more

My concern is that my bathroom shower tile installation would be rescheduled as well. We had purchased a $20,000 tile job for our master bathroom on March 2nd, 2019 AND WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR OUR PROJECT TO BE EVEN STARTED APRIL 30TH 2019!!! We have $10,000 worth of tile sitting in our foyer and no installer to install the tile...this company had five different types of discontinued tile on the floor and we had to choose five different times...they never called us to inform us, we had to continuously go down to the store in order to speak with someone. We have nothing but lies about why the installers have not started our tile bathroom again. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!!! read more

I must begin with the fact that I am always concerned when purchasing and using sub contractors for work in our home. We've all heard the horror stories of sub standard work or unreliable contractors. Well, I must say that was not the case with this experience. We purchased new carpeting for our home from Kitchens and Floors Today in Auburn. We dealt with Sam who took several hours to help us with our selection and work within our budget. We were on a tight time frame to have the carpeting installed. After a brief glitch with several of his installers who were unable to work within our need for a quick installation, Sam called installers from another Kitchens and Floors location out of state who were able to accommodate our need. He called me daily with updates which kept my anxiety level low. Sam came through with all our requests and the promises he made. What more can a customer ask for. The installers were prompt, professional and completed the job on time and as promised and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. They also thanked us for the opportunity to work with us. I had them install hardwood floors 5 years ago and the subcontractors were great so when I needed vinyl floors for my bathrooms I went back. They were installed July 12th 2019. A month later, they were bubbling from humidity just one of the door jam. I stopped in and was told that someone would contact me. Fast forward to end of 2020, after numerous times going into the store, having the current store manager and a past manager come to my house to look at them 2 different times, texting her pictures nothing has been done. Actually had the regional manager tell me he had been around since August 2020 and hadn't seen me in the store. I wasn't in the store that summer because I was going through some serious medical treatments. Even though the store manager was right there and admitted to seeing the pictures and dropping the ball, he said to call when they bubbled again. This is something that should have been fixed the FIRST TIME I WENT IN. It will be 2 years this summer since I had them put in. Don't use this company. If everything goes okay, like my floors great, but the first time you call for customer service, they don't do a thing. I have spent more than $25,000 and they can't be bothered to come to my house which is literally 3 minutes up the road. read more

I sent my mother in to select carpeting for two rooms upstairs in our home we are converting to somewhat of an in law suite area. Brian took the time to educate her in selecting something that would benefit what she was looking for long term as far as durability and quality. I went in a few days later to complete the order and talk about installation scheduling. I chose the Monday after the holiday to make sure we were ready. Jose from American Pro was our installer and he was amazing. I know the installers are all sub contracted but if I wanted someone to make a positive impression for my business I couldn't think of a better person to do just that. He cleaned up everything after installation probably better than when he arrived. I went upstairs to inspect and it was absolutely flawless, and I looked everywhere. My son (he's 5) asked to go upstairs every day for a week to see the new rug. He would just roll around on the floor smiling. My mother is extremely pleased and so am I. The store manager (Sam) followed up with a phone call after installation to ensure we were completely satisfied. The staff is very friendly, patient and helpful. This was a very good experience over all and I will certainly purchase here again. read more

My bad I shouild have put it away but Bob's was not at all interested in helping me and just said they asked them and they said they didn't take it. BUYER BEWARE! (I don't normally go out of my way to write reviews, but I would hate to have this happen to other people.) Let me start off by saying if you are looking to purchase anything from here...expect to be swindled out of your money. We finished our basement and purchased flooring from this "business". They have someone we had to pay $50 to come to our house and measure the basement so that they could order the right amount of flooring. We could have easily done it ourselves...however...they were pretty adamant about their "professional services". This is where their shady business strategy comes in. We PAID them to measure the rooms (Big mistake.) We PAID them for the flooring they determined was needed to cover the rooms after they "professionally" measured it (What a joke.). We went with a vinyl flooring so it comes in a massive roll. The guy who installed our floor told us straight out before he even began the project that they ordered TOO MUCH of one flooring and TOO LITTLE of the other. We were left with over $300 worth of one flooring that they will not refund us for, nor take back. And we are left with a bathroom that has a patch of flooring because there wasn't enough to cover it. My husband went to tell them what happened and they basically shrugged their shoulders at him and sent him on his way. So, now we have the inconvenience of figuring out what to do with the roll of flooring (which is about 15ft long if not longer). Did we get any help? Nope. Were they worried about their customer's satisfaction? Nope. Were we swindled out of our money? Yes. Zero effort was made to help make this situation any better. We recently purchased carpets for three bedrooms and a hallway. I already knew that I wanted a good pad but picking out a carpet was not an easy task. I had difficulty in deciding upon what color but this place let me take my time. They even ordered a larger sample for me to help pick which one. Tyler and Dave were both great to work with. The two carpet installers did a great job laying the carpet. We did run into an issue with the carpet being short (not enough to do the hallway) but it was rectified. Area where water damage occurred still not repaired due to very poor communication between shop and installers. Sanding marks visible through final finish. I would be happy to make this a negative one star. They say you pay more because of their superb products and incredible customer service. My daughter and I worked a long time and spent The last weekend before she delivered her baby in order to find the right floor for our kitchen and hallway. While we were at the hospital a week later, they called to tell me that they needed some further information before they could order the floor. This was very disconcerting since I needed the material as soon as possible, something they already knew. The last straw was when I was called today and told I needed to pay in full ahead of time before they would put the order through. This call came just as we were leaving the hospital with an infant. Last but not least, when I said to forget the order and that I would get it somewhere else, I was informed that I would have to come down to the store to cancel. I would suggest to anyone reading this that you do not even think twice about the possibility of doing business with this company. I am now in a position where I need to start again two weeks later. The difficulty in all these situations is that the company does not feel any responsibility toward the customer for the delay. If time is money, and it is, this company has cost me money without ever considering that they did anything wrong. Hopefully this post will cost them money. It is the least I can do to return the favor. read more
