My husband and I stumbled across this hidden gem in Georgetown and we are so glad we did! It is a book store/coffee shop and they have the cutest little reading nook upstairs. My husband got a coffee and BLT, I got a peach tea (delicious) and a steak empanada, which I will 100% be going back for. The empanada was amazing! We decided to check out the place and went upstairs to the library/reading nook. They had a ton of books for sale. Most, or all, I noticed, were in Spanish. Super cute up there to get work done or read a book. Then we went to check out the patio, which we ended up eating at! It had lots of tables and most were taken but we found one! Cute little cafe in Georgetown. There is an indoor area where you order your food and an outdoor area with tables that's outside. I believe they have another upstairs area but I didn't visit. I wouldn't advise being in a rush if you were to visit because it does take a little bit to get your food. I ordered the steak empanada which was good and the chai latte which was ok- not a strong masala flavor. read more

great addition to dc and georgetown. very cute coffee shop, very good coffee. but very popular and they run on their own time - an espresso and drip coffee took 20+ minutes before 9am on the weekend. empanadas are delicious, try as many as you can. the other argentinian pastries were also tasty. but skip the canelé, it's a sweeter version that does not have the proper outside crust. one other gripe is they won't make an iced cortado, but will gladly charge for an iced latte and just put in less milk to get the cortado ratio - never understand why shops do this read more

Finally visited this beautiful Buenos Aires-inspired cafe & bookstore! It is the perfect spot to grab a bite, check out a new book, and relax with friends. Their warm and community driven space focuses on delicious Argentinian flavors and nourishing seasonal dishes with a Latin flair. I especially loved their seasonal Dulce de Latte (perfectly sweet and balanced) and their beef ragu bowl. They have outdoor and indoor seating, complete with a bookstore upstairs with books and gifts in Spanish & English. They even host community events, which I am excited to check out. read more

I was SO excited to try the draft matcha at Flor--unfortunately when I came the machine wasn't working. No worries..I tried the regular iced matcha with vanilla anyways and it was delicious!! The staff are hipsters with Gen-Z vibes and music taste to match... completely opposite of the physical vibe of Flor in the best way. It's the coziest place that I'd love to spend all-day in. On the bottom floor there is a counter where you order your food, on the second floor there is a shared courtyard patio with a few other businesses, and on the 3rd floor is a stylish space with indoor seating that also doubles as a bookstore. The 3rd floor looked to be a great place to get some work done, but they did have policies limiting computer usage (which is fair since the space was fairly small) My fiance and I each tried a coffee, split an almond croissant, and I got a breakfast platter while she opted for a breakfast bowl. When you walk in, you immediately see the cafe. There's plenty of food and drink options to choose from. I came here for the matcha latte, and was satisfied with my drink. I don't think it's a Top 10 cafe in DC according to Beli, but I enjoyed the vibes of this place. When you walk upstairs, you see the book selection and more indoor seating. All of our drinks were incorrect. They were made hot instead of iced, the wrong syrup was used also. The staff was kind enough to remake everything but it did take a long time (the original drinks not the remake) the decor is cute. The wait was definitely long and the line situation was a bit chaotic. I think it would be rly beneficial to have some kind of system to have people weave outside and onto the street instead of clustered inside. It was hard to tell who was in line and who wasn't. A great addition to DC's coffee scene. I'll get the one negative out of the way up front - it is extremely popular, which means on a Sunday after, there was a very long line, the place was totally packed shoulder to shoulder, and it took about 25 minutes (!) just to get a coffee. I'm not sure I have ever waited so long in a coffee place. To their credit, the place is well staffed, and they were working hard to get the orders out quick. That said, the space is bright and lovely, they are very welcoming, and it really feels like a third place rather than a soulless corporate coffee spot. Up the stairs there is a nice outdoor seating area in back that was very quiet and laptop friendly. Up another level you'll find the upstairs space, which doubles as a bookstore and seating area. It has a nice mix of tables, couches, and arm chairs. Perfect for reading. They have a no-laptop policy during the lunch rush and all day weekends, so keep that in mind, but as long as you don't need to do work, this is a perfect setting. The coffee is good - the oatmilk macchiato is my fave, but they also have complex seasonal creations if that's your thing, plus an ice cream machine to make affogatos. Cool touch. There is a large selection of pastries and savory dishes on the menu, too. I had a trio of empanadas, which come $5 apiece, and they are very nice. Fresh, served hot, and filling. The BBQ pork is a standout. I will be back for sure. read more

Found this cute coffe shop/book store while exploring Georgetown and decided to grab a matcha and see how the vibe is there. There was a line nearly out of the door but I stood in it and was not disappointed at all! The service was so kind. The nitro matcha machine was down but my "normal" matcha was still delish! I checked out upstairs and there are books you can buy and plenty of seating available. There is even a kiosk to place your order upstairs. I can see myself returning to relax upstairs with a nice meal (all of their food looked amazing) and enjoy the peacefulness there. Im not sure if there was a way to get upstairs for people with mobility setbacks. I would call beforehand. Came here on a Saturday morning and let me just say it was packed. Be prepared to wait in really long lines to order and also to get your food/drink. The wait is definitely worth it and this is a new café so you need to be patient. The food was really good specifically the empanadas were amazing. Does not live up to the hype- super disappointing visits. The first time I went I ordered the vanilla draft matcha. He started to charge me for vanilla and oat milk, when I asked why he's charging me for a draft latte he said "Oh the draft latte is out of stock, we're making them by hand". Would've been nice to know this before ordering! I just tried it again and was charged 99 cents to add vanilla to my espresso latte, which I couldn't taste. So if you are more focused on work, I'd go upstairs and if you are in a more chatty mood or just want some fresh air, I'd recommend the outdoor patio. The owner was also so kind. Great coffee shop in Georgetown! The chai was delicious and so was the breakfast sandwich I got. The baristas were friendly and helpful with my questions. The order was done pretty quickly and then I was able to take my food out to a nice courtyard seating area. There were mosquitos out that day so eventually we moved inside to the reading room which was really nice! If it's not during quiet hours, I recommend sitting in there if you can find a seat. I would absolutely try this place again. They have a few floors, including a courtyard and upstairs, where you can find books to buy and some water. I was so excited to try this place after seeing how popular it is and the food and matcha looked amazing but I had a terrible experience. :( the food was really mediocre and you can get much better food for the price elsewhere. Additionally the staff was so rude. A staff member (very short, black hair, female) accidentally overcharged me and I heard a member of the staff tell her that she overcharged me and that she should refund me, and she immediately went no no no i don't need to do that. It was so rude and I was right in front of them. She did not apologize to me and neither did anyone else on the staff. To spend so much there and be treated so poorly is crazy. read more
