Came here during Porch Fest craving a good pastry and desperately needing a pick me up after brunch. The inside is very small with just 3 tables lining the wall for 2ppl each. We were serviced very fast considering the heavy foot traffic so that was a plus. I ordered a chocolate croissant and a caramel flavored coffee. The coffee was easily one of the best cups I've ever had but the croissant left much to be desired. The coffee was rich without being overly bitter or sweet but the croissant lacked the amount of chocolate I feel it needed to be considered a chocolate croissant. I've also been spoiled by ninos bakery so there's that :(. I'd definitely come back for a coffee if I was in the area. read more

Ok SO Ive been here twice and it is DAMN GOOD! There is something to be said about a buttery and flakey croissant and they bake theirs well. So far Ive had the toffee bread pudding, yuca pao de quiejo, everything, dulce de leche pastries as well as the almond croissant- SO good. I also love that they have fresh OJ and really good coffee with homemade syrups available. This spot is small but filled with love. This is the spot for amazing coffee and pastries! Don't be deterred by a long line outside, they're staffed to the gills and move quickly. I was behind 10+ people outside, and couldn't even see inside the shop when I got in line. Less than 10 minutes later, I was outside with two hot beverages and two pastries baked right in their shop. Totally worth it and far better than quickly scooping up substandard facsimiles at a major chain nearby. So, enjoy, sit outside, live the European-style of casually sipping and letting time slip past with the leisure of someone who isn't in a terrible rush and has no interest in conversation with amazing coffee. read more

Across the street from another popular coffee shop, Soleluna still had a line that went outdoors which definitely showcases as a strong coffee shop contender. There isn't much seating at all inside but there are a couple tables outside on a small patio of the restaurant. Everything here is made from scratch daily and looks extremely appetizing with a wide selection of pastries and huge stuffed croissants. Despite there being a line the service was really fast, I was able to try one of their croissants as well as their cookie butter latte which was really rich and you could taste the cookie butter from the beginning to the end holding its flavor the entire drink which is unusual for an iced drink as they tend to lose flavor. read more

I stopped by Soleluna this past weekend for a coffee and found it very charming. It's a small coffeeshop and bakery with some seating outdoors and just a high top and 2-4 chairs inside. I stopped by around 8:00 a.m. on a Sunday morning and walked right in. I ordered an iced americano and drooled over their favorite beautiful pastries (I don't even have much of a sweet tooth, but their pastries looked gorgeous). The service was fast and friendly, and my iced americano was great. I enjoyed my coffee on a walk to Meridian Hill Park. Around 11:00 a.m., I was in front of Soleluna again (just passing by) and noticed there was now quite a line. I imagine it moves quite fast (there's really nowhere to go inside which might make the line look a little longer than it really is). So, Soleluna is great, and it's no secret! If you stop by earlier in the morning, it won't take long at all to get a coffee and a treat, but you should expect a bit of a wait if you go later in the morning on a weekend. OMG! Soleluna has been on my list for quite some time but I haven't had the time to make the trek up to admo but I am glad I could today!! I went with two friends that have been urging me to go, so of course I did! Smaller cafe but has some seating indoor and outdoor (would probably have to come early in the day if you want to wfh here, but that wasn't my objective for today. The inside was soooo cute though! First entered in, the staff was unbelievably so kind and welcomed us in with huge smiles. We did come during the last hour before closing, so I am so gracious they were all kind especially at the end of the day. I got the cookie butter latte iced 9/10 and the mango cheese danish 10/10! This is a sweet little pastry and coffee shop right near the main intersection in ADMO. Blink and you could miss it, but don't miss it because the pastries are on point and they have all kinds of lovely coffee drinks as well. I would also highlight that the monkey bread is a very well priced pastry for this area and they have different flavors, including savory. Some of the savory croissants can also be a full lunch or breakfast and they also have personal quiches. There are only two small tables inside so plan accordingly during winter. The area itself is not great (not necessarily the fault of the establishment). But there was a pretty aggressive homeless person going inside the cafe and harassing people for money. Then the place was a little dirty and smelled weird. This bakery really feeds the Sole! We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a coffee and a treat- I have an oat cappuccino and a plain croissant($3) and both were delicious! The prices were super reasonable- the croissant was classic, buttery, flaky and fresh despite it being late in the day. And the coffee was good, beans weren't too acidic. They don't have too much room inside but have a few covered tables outside. There are no stairs to the cafe! Overall, would definitely recommend trying this place out- the staff was super nice and the pastries were great! read more

I've been going to this little cafe at least once a month for about a year now, and I just want to sing its praises a little bit more! The cinnamon rolls they sometimes have on the weekend have to be my favorite in DC (so soft, so gooey, never skimping on the cinnamon) and the quiches are spot-on. Every time I start my day with a pastry from Soleluna it just brightens my morning, and it's so great to see staff making everything from scratch and pulling warm pastries from the oven when you get there early in the day. Glad to have a cozy little cafe like this in the neighborhood and that their prices have stayed reasonable. If there's something specific you want, I recommend coming early because they do sell out. read more

The coffee isn't exceptional and I think they were having an off day when I went because they had messed up a couple of drink orders while I waited in line. I was there on a Sunday afternoon and there was a small line out the door, but they moved fast. I ordered an iced latte with chai syrup and I couldn't taste the chai, so either their syrups are weak or they forgot it. Despite this, I would come back over and over again for their pastries. My favorite place for viennoiserie sadly closed its doors and so I began the pursuit of finding an acceptable replacement. Solely a focused on traditional French items with a twist.i indulged in their pistachio and almond croissant. Their pistachio croissant surprised me by not having a filling and only have pistachios on the top (2/5). The almond croissant also wasn't the standard as instead of a frangipane filling it was filled with a sweet almond extract cream (1/5). They also have a fun selection of pastries, including fruity, tropical options like their guava or passionfruit croissant, or their mango danish. If something savory is a bit more your speed, they also have a classic ham and cheese croissant, everything bagel danish, and outstanding leek quiche. I usually go for something classic, like their standard croissant or pain au chocolat, but everything -- from the basics to the specialty -- are perfectly executed, phenomenally flaky, and 100% delicious. The shop is quite small, so, while there's a couple of small tables available outside, you're most likely going to have to take your order to go. Soleluna is an adorable cafe in Adams Morgan that is perfect for catching up with friends or as a work from home spot. Came here with a friend on Saturday morning and were excited to try their signature iced coffees. For $3, you get a generous sized latte and flavorings for no extra cost. I absolutely loved this coffee shop and bakery! I'm so glad I decided to try it out while waiting around for some errands with my kids. Everything about it was great. Starting out with the drinks. I had a cappuccino with oat milk and it was perfect. It didn't need any sugar, since the coffee wasn't burnt at all. My daughter had a Chai which was delicious, she didn't even want to share it with anyone. It had the perfect sweetness and spicyness. To eat, I had a chocolate almond croissant. It's pretty large, so you could even share it if you're not too hungry. It was spongy on the inside and flaky on the outside. The filling was great and not overpowering at all. We also had a chocolate croissant, which had a whole lot of filling and was also large. Baked to perfection! and a guava croissant which was smaller than the other two, but super great quality and flavorful. I fully recommend all three! Now, the place itself is really cute and the staff is super friendly! Despite the long wait line that day, the staff did not look stressed, they were really nice and helpful, and handed the orders so quickly! The shop is small but it's got some chairs and tables set outside, which were really nice because you get to enjoy your coffee and baked goods in a busy but not overwhelming street.
