I hired Keepers of the Green a little over two years ago. At that time, they were locally owned and…read moreoperated and had almost 5 stars across the board. I was dissatisfied with the company I had been using and when Keepers of the Green came out to take a look at my lawn, they identified deficiencies from the previous service provider and assured me the problems would be addressed. For the longest time my lawn looked great and I had no problems. Then suddenly they changed my technician. The new technician didn't seem to know anything he was doing and didn't care about providing good service. He was just about finishing as quickly as possible. He showed up one day, put the lawn sign indicating treatment on my yard, and drove off without providing any service. Fortunately, I have cameras throughout the property and was able to see exactly what happened. I called the company immediately to complain and instead of management getting back to me they told the technician who had done the misdeed and he was the one who got in touch with me to tell me that I had made some type of mistake, that he had in fact treated my lawn, and offered to come out the next day to retreat it. Obviously, that would be a big mistake if he had treated it originally because when you treat a lawn twice within a short period of time you are going to burn the grass. When he came out the next morning, I went outside to speak with him before he began anything in the hopes that he would admit his mistake and offer an explanation, but he doubled down and claimed he had performed the service. It wasn't until I challenged him with the video evidence and told him I would go down to the company that day and show management the video that he admitted he hadn't done the service at all. The next time he came out, he didn't do half of my backyard and then when I called to complain about that, he told me he had not pulled enough hose off the truck to get that far. A completely lame and unacceptable excuse!! I then started to notice brown patches throughout my yard that were starting to get worse I called the company to have them send somebody out to address it and a gentleman came out the following Monday. He said he would be out each Monday for a few weeks to treat those areas and to place grass plugs to kick start regrowth. He only came out once and never again. I called to ask about the lack of follow up and no one called me back. I have come to find out that the company is no longer locally owned and operated, but was sold to a large conglomerate. I guess that probably explains the poor service and the lack of proper and timely responses to customer concerns. Their webpage still says "family owned" as it did when I hired them years ago but they are not unless they mean owned by whatever family owns the conglomerate. Disingenuous for sure. I canceled the service today and I've hired another company who I hope does a much better job Unfortunately, I was told that the damage to my lawn would take almost a year to recover from. This company is not the company they were when they were locally owned, and I don't think anyone should hire them to do their lawns as I have seen many reviews recently with customers complaining about the same exact lawn issues that I have experienced. My lawn went from looking beautiful to being one of the worst in the neighborhood despite the fact that this company charged me $91 to come out each month and treat it. Money down the train at this point, but no more. No stars from me if that was an option.
