We reserved an efficiency cabin a month ago to save money. It was bare bones, adequate for our basic needs, clean and comfortable. We had two double beds. They were comfortable, but too small for the two of us. The second night was better since we each had our own bed. The bathroom was small, and clean, with fluffy towels and every thing we needed - including plenty of hot water. The plastic mat in the tub kept me from slipping, and appreciative of bath mat & fan. Medicine cabinet with two mirrors was also appreciated. The flat screen television had plenty of channels. Unfortunately we kept losing the signal for the channels we liked (NBC was stuck on a dishwasher and CBS was stuck on a weather map one night & the CarFax Fox the next day). Husband was thankful that he could watch the Yankees/Blue Jays games 10/7/25 without incident. The second night we had absolutely no problems. Nice! The loveseat was comfortable to sit in to read and watch TV. The kitchen had everything we needed - working stove, coffee maker, microwave, full size fridge with freezer, sink and cabinets & drawers with everything we needed for meal prep & eating. We loved walking down to the marina to see the sunsets and lily pads. The weather was perfect. We did see some stars, but the Super Moon was so bright that we couldn't see more. The employees were friendly and helpful. Anthony helped us check in after hours. We did not realize that we needed to arrive before 5. We arrived at 5:30. He accompanied us to our cabin to be sure our entry code worked. It did! He was wonderful!! The next day Toya gave us our hang tag for the car and receipt for our stay. She was kind and patient. When we checked out, Anthony was with Toya at the visitor center. He helped us get ice from the ice machine outside. He started our stay here on a positive note, and ended our visit here on a positive note! He is one of the reasons we really enjoyed our stay here. Next time we'll bring friends. Then we can upgrade to the two bedroom cabin! We really hope Anthony will be here! read more

I love Florence Marina. Great fishing, look out for gators though. Jug fishing is fun and the scenery is beautiful. Great pics of sunset. The campground host that used to be there were awesome. Beautiful! We stayed two nights in our motorhome and we will definitely be back to this park again in the future. You can rent John boats for $30 for four hours. It's 9 miles from Providence Canyon which is a must see! RV sites are clean, shady and level but not very private. Staff is friendly. We did not use laundry, playgrounds or mini golf. There are grills, picnic tables and fire rings on every site. They also rent cottages. Highly recommend! read more

Hubby picked this place as a close campsite to the Providence Canyon State Park. It is located at a beautiful marina with fantastic fishing. The camp grounds are well-maintained. There is a decent amount of space between sites. The sites are gravel for the trailer/rv. They are pretty leveled. There is a comfort area with washers/dryers and restrooms with showers. Each site has a grill, fire pit, and picnic table. It is a dog friendly park with pets needing to be on a six foot leash or leash. The park itself has lots of hiking trails, fishing areas, fish cleaning setups with sinks/running water, well-covered by trees, and pretty nice roads for smooth driving/parking and riding bikes. There isn't a grocery store any where near the park so if you need supplies we highly recommend you bring them with you before pulling in. There is a little store on the grounds with some camping supplies, boat rentals for the huge beautiful lake, fishing bait, and gift shop. Overall, we had a great time staying. It was beautiful, relaxing, and gave us wonderful memories. Looking forward to returning. read more

We loved our stay here! The efficiency cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was well stocked with locally sourced homemade soaps, shampoos and lotion. The kitchen had everything you needed with pots, pans, a toaster, utensils, plates and even a pitcher for lemonade! Grills, picnic benches and a fire pit were just steps right outside the door including a view of the lake and marina. A nice swing set and playground with a wide open field and beautiful trees are across from the cabins. We walked to the fishing pier for beautiful views of the sunset. The visitor store had firewood, ice and cute things to buy. This is a perfect place to stay within 8 miles from Providence Canyon. We will be back!! read more

We stayed here one night, as it was out of the way, but on our way to our destination. This park is lovely, sites were spacious. There were not many people around, so it was private for us. We had electric, water, picnic table and fire ring. If we weren't on our way to another location I would have stayed here longer and checked out all the services they provided. read more

The camp ground was nice. Lots of flooded areas. The bathrooms were clean for a couple days but became very nasty fast and was not being cleaned regular and when cleaned they were not really cleaned. She would Just sign the log. Not much to do in the area. The Omaha brewery is really nice and the canyons but other than that just come to relax. read more

Campground is clean, the spots are all open and have no privacy. The rest of the park is dirty, trash everywhere. The waters have bottles floating in them and the docks are old and falling apart. Trails are limited and the closest stores are 30 min away (which isn't a big deal to us, but others it might be). Not to be judgmental but it appeared the spot next to us has a "permanent camper" living there. The camper has so much junk around and under the camper it took away from our experience. read more

This is a great little park. Nice, large sites with picnic table, fire pit, grill, and W/S/E. Lots of people had fishing boats and most were gone fishing all day long. Not far from the park, you can hike Providence Canyon, which is pretty cool. Part of the hike had us walking through mud, but it wasn't too bad except our dog's paws turned orange, lol. We totally reco this park if you're in the area or traveling through like we did. read more

Camped 1 night here. If you have a camper, you might enjoy this place as it is primarily level, good paved roads, with water, sewer, and electricity outlets galore. Picnic table and fire ring at each site too. There is no foliage to breakup the views between campsites so it almost like a spaced out grassy parking lot of RVs. There were 3 tent campers when I was there. A little pricey for $30 a night. The rest were RVs. Also of note, the website showed they were full but they actually had a lot of spaces available. So if you are in the area and want to camp there do not go strictly by what the website tells you. The ranger was unaware of this, but the camp host was aware there was plenty of spaces. If you call, it will go to the ranger station. But this place is kinda remote, so if you are in the area (like you are at Providence Canyon) then a drive by is warranted. It has a clean laundry facility, clean bath/showers, and a Coke machine that takes $1 bills. Camp host sells ice and wood. There is a marina there with what looks like primarily pontoon boats. The checkin station is staffed by rangers and they sell souvenirs and bait, along with a few snacks/drinks. No fishing is allowed at the marina itself and there are signs warning that alligators are present in this lake. Lots of spanish moss hang from trees giving the place a real southern feel. There is a really nice miniature golf set up in between the campground and the lake. A couple of wooden swings and a gazebo are perched on the bank of the lake and make a great place to watch the sunset. read more

This was the last stop on our summer trip. I was surprised how nice this place was! Spacious, pull through camp sites. It may have been lacking some vegetation to create a little privacy between spots, but that's easy to overlook. The guy at the check in station was awesome! There is plenty to do here for the family. We enjoyed taking our little boy to play putt putt for the first time. And because we went during a slow time, we didn't have to worry about him holding other players up. And the bath and shower house. WOW! so much better than all the other places we stayed this summer. We can't wait to return for more than one nights and get out on the lake and spend some more time at providence canyon! read more

We just got back from spending 5 days and 4 nights here and we loved it! This is a place to boat, fish and just relax. My family stayed in one of the two bedroom cottages and when we walked in, you could still smell the cleaning products. The cabin was immaculate and spotless! The kitchen was tiny but had everything you could need; coffee pot, toaster, microwave, oven safe dishes, Pyrex, measuring cups, cork screw, and more. They give you plenty of towels and soap, no shampoo. The beds in our cabin were very comfortable. There is a bathroom in each bedroom with endless hot water. Cell phone calls went through, but there is no internet. The living room was comfy with a wood burning fireplace. There is a table for 6, and 3 stools at the counter. The screened in porch was our favorite and we spent a lot of time out there playing games and just hanging in the rocking chairs (no table). The AC system was AWESOME!!!!! The grill is charcoal, but we brought a propane grill, as well as some soccer chairs and another small folding table. My only complaint was the mini golf course that was in need of an upgrade and update, but we still had fun playing.When I mentioned the golf course, the young lady told me that it was on the plans for refurbishment this year and then COVID hit.You rent the clubs for $4.00 a person and can hold onto them and play as many games as you want during your stay. we had another couple with us who stayed in the efficiency cabins, but they were not as nice or as comfortable. We would definitely stay here again if we returned to go to Providence Canyon Park. It is only 8 miles away and one of the coolest things to hike. The nearest grocery store is about 20 miles, and there is a Walmart and Publix about the same distance. We brought all of our food in coolers. The small store at the marina carries odds and ends but you can't shop there to stock up. Definitely recommend. read more

My dad and I were going to go hiking and camping on Appalachian Trail, but Hurricane Nate had other plans! We went to Florence Marina State Park on a whim (last minute). It's about 2.5-3 hours from ATL, which isn't a bad drive. The park itself is pretty close to Providence Canyon (about 8 miles away), which is a fun day trip for hiking! We stayed in one of the efficiency cottages and it is cozy and comfy and only about 75 bucks a night, which is very reasonable for what you get. Not the newest place, but it's clean and comfy- that's all I need. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, pots,pans, and cookie sheets. The bathroom includes towels and bar soap, so you need to bring your own shampoo. The pictures online don't really do this place justice. It looks much better in person! There are grills and tables outside if you want to grill out. If you are looking to swim in the lake, this isn't your place. There were Beware of Alligators signs down by the water. I don't really swim in lakes too often, so this didn't bother me. It's also about 35 mins from Columbus, Ga and 25 mins to Eufaula, Ala. would I go back? Definitely! You can't beat the price and it's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. read more

We have stayed a few days in the cabins on three different occasions. Each time was quiet, with clean amenities, well furnished - dishes, linens, and appliances. All employees are friendly and helpful. The boat ramp and docks are nice and convenient. Restrooms at the lodge (store), and boat trailer parking area are always clean. Just got back from a three day camping trip at Florence Marina State Park. There were several major distractions that really made for a miserable trip. First, there was some kind of generator, pumping station or similar type machinery somewhere near the camp site. Couldn't see it, but the thing ran 24/7. It would cut on, run for an hour or so, then cut out for about 30 minutes and it was loud. The noise kept us up all night long. Not fun at all. Second, were the gnats. Even though it was mid Oct. the gnats were horrible. We tried spray, citronella candles and deep woods off w/deet but nothing helped. They were there buzzing around our faces all day long. Third were the crowds. We went camping mid week with the hopes of finding a less crowded place to spend a few relaxing days. That didn't happen. Florence Marina has become a haven for snowbirds. Most of the campsites were taken by RV's w/retirees from Indiana, Illinois and other colder states. There were few campsites available and the ones that were not taken were the less desirable spots. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and helpful, as were the camp hosts. The park is right on Lake Eufaula, so the fishing is great all year round and there's a dock/boat ramp. Those with a boat can dock almost next to the campsite.The bathhouse stayed clean and was in good repair. There's even a laundry room with plenty of washers and dryers. While the park did have a few things going for it, overall, the experience was decidedly negative. My wife and I both agreed, that would be our last visit to Florence Marina State Park. read more
