In all fairness, I waited a while to see how things would settle, but my opinion hasn't changed:…read morethis is a horrible company that did more damage than good. They were supposed to trim a laurel hedge, but decided to only trim it as far up as they could reach without bothering to do the upper couple of feet. It is a horrible mess. They were supposed to re-gravel the driveway, but, brought such a fine-grade gravel that it was more dust than stones. I spoke about that and Sam Hill, the owner, said "It'll be fine once it rains." NO it's not. Most of the "gravel" blew away. It's a lumpy mess. I had also specified that I wanted the gravel to go all the way out to the edges of the current drive. I even said "I want it wide." Wasn't done. I complained and Sam said, "It looks like a nice, strip up the middle." He said if I wanted it out to the edges, he could write up another bid!!!! I had gone out the day before and weeded and made the edges of the drive very clear. These lazy people didn't even bother to move a trash can that was at the side: they just left it un-graveled. They didn't spread gravel over the entire area that is the turn-around either. You can see where they just put their gravel around in patches when they thought they could get away with leaving the old gravel. They cut a 50-year old lilac down to the ground for no reason at all. Apparently, Sam's parents own a nursery, so he "made it right" by putting 2 inch tall cuttings in its place. I objected because lilacs are very slow growing. Sam said "Oh, no...they grow really fast." NOT TRUE. I then went to a nursery and picked out a 4 foot tall lilac that would still not make up for the towering one that had been destroyed, but would be better than cuttings. Sam said he'd go get it. Well, he must have gone back to mom and dad again. They planted a one foot tall weakling that is now dead. I wanted them to plant something to mask my neighbors fence from view. I said something flowering, like a dogwood or cherry. I expected someone who calls himself a landscaper to know plants; to know what would grow in the space indicated. I babied that tree for months, but...it's now dead, too. So, thousands of dollars went for damage and ignorance and laziness and refusal to repair what they ruined. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

I also asked him to rototill and amend the soil with top quality amendments. We had talked about the 4 cu yards I would need. He arrived with his crew and they started clearing while Calmo went to pick up the plants I had purchased along with the amendments. He returned and we laid out the plants. I noticed he had not brought the rototiller or the soil amendment and asked. He skipped my question. He asked if I had planned on landscape fabric or bark chips. He said he had bark chips. I had not intended on it, but had 8 bags in the garage. He said we needed 20 more. I was getting frustrated that our visions were not meshing. We bought more mulch. Skipping to the end, my yard looks nicer, but I did not get what I wanted. He tried to push me towards getting sod and also having him put in a sprinkler system. I appreciate the work he did but feel like the communication was not great.

In a total of 3 days, Reggie and his crew came and did, among so many other things, the following: -ivy removal -bamboo removal from root -select tree removal safety permitting -weed removal -bush and tree trimming and shaping When they finished the job, we were left amazed. Reggie and his team have gained my complete trust and confidence. Reggie is clearly experienced and has excellent judgment in terms of what needs to get done to achieve the look you're going for while addressing your concerns. For us, we were extremely focused on protecting our old growth trees so everything was done my hand to protect the root systems. We also wanted to maximize privacy and prep an area for more fencing--Reggie achieved both. He is extremely knowledgeable and gives advice any ISA arborist would as well. New poured walkway did not have control joints and isn't sloped downhill away from my house. Instead of concrete steps they used retaining wall blocks without caps and left an awkward 3/4 step. Jorge did work with me on some corrections I wanted but I never saw him on site. Issues might have resulted in loss of communication to his team. I've already spent 6 hours cleaning up and leveling what they left me.
