It's clear that they've been part of the community for a long time and the community truly loves and supports them. They offer skating classes every Saturday morning at 9 a.m., and we've been attending regularly ever since. The classes are well structured with three skill levels, and the staff is consistently kind, welcoming, and encouraging. It's been a fantastic experience all around! Been here twice. First time I was shocked a roller rink still existed. Haven't been to one in 20yrs. It's a great place for young kids to learn how to skate. Second visit was a different experience. I'm honestly very disappointed with my experience for my daughter's birthday party. First off, we were charged an extra $120 for *non-skaters*--something that was never mentioned during the booking process or in any pre-party communications. When I asked about this charge, I was told it was mentioned to me that there would be a $10 fee for non-skaters, but there are signs and it's online so I should have seen that. That was not the case, and I was never informed about this extra fee until the day of the party. What really frustrates me is that I would never ask parents to leave if they wanted to watch their children at a birthday party, especially when we had traveled 40 minutes to be there. It's incredibly inconvenient and unfair to expect parents to leave or be charged for simply wanting to be present at an event for their child. I want to emphasize that while the skating experience itself was fine, the lack of transparency and the additional surprise charges really soured the entire experience. If you plan to book a party here, make sure you have everything in writing and double-check the charges before committing. Small rink that is overcrowded. Small seating area and they overbook birthday parties so it's even less space to sit. People use the benches to hold all their coats and stuff so it's unbearable. Had to pay just to watch my daughter skate...Don't come on a weekend. read more

had my daughters birthday party here tonight.. I wanted to start off by saying, which they DONT tell you.. if you have parents come, skating or not you are charged 10$ AUTOMATICALLY. no one disclosed this to us. SO not only did we end up paying an extra 170$ they also charged us 10 for " no skaters " they called them for MULTIPLE children that weren't able to skate because they did not have skates for beginners and only had size 9 and up for children'.. so a good chunk of the money we paid here was for our guests that just got to sit there and watch bc this place didn't even have the equipment for some of them. and we came from 45 minutes away on a damn sunday. the lady tells me she told us about the extra costs, however this is false because I wouldn't have had several children come to a party just for them to SIT THERE WATCHING ALL THE OTHER kKIDS HAVE FUN AND NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE and still pay for THEM AND THEIR PARENTS .. not to mention they added 20% for " tipping " the staff, the staff that did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for us during this party other than ask us if we needed help bringing things in. we brought everything ourselves from plates to napkins to ordering our own food.. we asked them to call them kids in for pizza. at a specific time .. they failed to do that we had to call all the kids back ourselves and then for cake we had to ask them a second time to call the kids in. thank god I brought table cloths the tables were disgusting and sticky. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless less you want to pay a lot for basically nothing. you're better off going to humdingers and spending a few extra hundred where they take great care of you and accommodate ALL OF THE CHILDREN, and don't throw HIDDEN fees at you!! never again. STEER CLEAR. so sad that this is one of the only other places like this no wonder they are all going out. this is the first 1 start review I have ever wrote that's how bad this experience was. read more

My daughter's end of year girls scout event was here. She had never skated before. The rink itself was very clean, and had everything we needed, as in skates and roller blades. I hadn't skated in years, though I had done it quite frequently in my youth. I'd really rate this place a 3.5. My biggest frustration was that they didn't provide skate mates, and most of the skaters were aged 6-10, and were inexperienced. The drive was also a little far, so I don't know how often I'd frequent this spot again. read more

Went here with family on a Saturday night. Looks like they have a few 2 hour sessions a few times a day. Great price $8 to enter if your skating or not. $4 to rent skates and if you need a locker it's 50¢. They have a snack bar and the staff was very friendly. They have limited capacity due to all that's going on in the world so get there at least a half hour before the session. They have waivers online and at the door. Very safe and friendly environment. Came here with my brother the other day on Saturday from 8-10, expect a birthday with around 60-70% high schoolers or younger but that was fine, everyone's here for a good time. I haven't skated or bladed in years so this was fun. Admission costs 10$ and it's 5$ for skate rentals. We enter and the rentals are on your right and the main rink on the left. Make sure to wear nice comfy socks above the ankles if you plan on getting the blade rentals. The line is pretty long. Pretty enjoyable music and the staff was nice. Every once in awhile I go, I forget that it is pretty busy with parties..I usually go Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The past few times I or a friend of mine have encountered rollerblades with loose buckles. The cost of admission and skates is otherwise reasonable. Attended a birthday party here. From the moment I walked in, I was transported back to 1994 at The Rink in Bergenfield. Very similar vibe. Only wish there was a little skating section to teach the littles. Overall, the place is clean, even the women's bathrooms. The party guests were the only people there (thanks COVID!) We visited here on a Friday with some other family members just for a chill, fun night out. We attended the 8 pm to 10 pm skate time. $8 to enter (for everyone) and $5 skate rental (inline or regular skates). This place is very clean and well taken care of. They only offer pizza and pretzels at the food stand (that's what my hubby told me anyway). It was a nice crowd for a Friday night, a few tween birthday parties, but plenty of room to skate. Ohhhhh my god what a nightmare this place was. Honestly, mostly because it was so insanely crowded. There must have been over 200 people in this tiny rink. I went for a later session skate, thinking there would be less children but I was wrong. Toddlers and young kids falling all over, tons of teenagers chain skating, adults dodging in and out of everyone. Absolute madness. So unsafe. Their "arcade" is a joke; a bunch of old machines that did not even work. Lockers also non functional. Not sure if they were actually serving food but their snack bar looked defunct also. Very limited seating. They way they are running this rink is incredibly unsafe. read more

Florham Park Roller Skating Rink is a wonderful, clean place. They run an amazing Private Party for 1.5 hours. Last night, 1/14/2024 we hosted another Girl Scout Event there. It was another success for the girls and families. They are great with communication, their website spells out all of the information and being able to rent out the rink is a great option to avoid a crowded rink. The place is awesome, and man was I in pain the next day, using all those muscles I have not used since I was 12. I miss places like this and I hope any that are left don't ever go away. The price for a group party was extremely reasonable & my friends and I had such a blast we've kept coming back ever since! Nothing to write home about. It's a roller skating rink, has decent roller skates and blades for rental, and relatively cheap to get in and rent skates. Floors are pretty well maintained and the older lady who I assume is part of the family that owns this place skates around and helps little kids learn how to skate--she's very good on her roller skates and dances around the floor too. Couple of criticisms. (1) Don't come here on weekend during the day, especially when the weather outside is bad. I went this past weekend and with 3 birthday parties going on at the same time, it was way overcrowded and impossible to skate. (2) Their soda fountain is way overpriced at $2 for a very tiny cup. C'mon, soda syrup costs nothing! (3) Their lockers are always jamming and eats your quarter like crazy--leave your valuables in the car so you can just stick your jacket and shoes under one of the benches. read more

Due to the 25% capacity Covid rules I wasn't able to get in the first time I went but got there early for the next session and was one of the lucky ones to get in, Looks like they do a great job cleaning and sanitizing. Im not coming back here. I would like to say i would but with an attitude like this place i suggest you highly reconsider. This was never like this a few years ago. The attitude was better and people actually picked up the phone and actually cared about their business. I don't want to hear I'm writing a bad review because i don't care about the Business, no. Im angry that you treat people like garbage and expect them to come here. You have kids parties which are fine but pick up the phone during the week or before the hours posted. Brought my daughter and her friend to skate for the 3:30-5:30pm time slot. People were waiting outside. Had to pay $8 per person even though I was not skating. Now you would think with the COVID numbers going up they would have limited capacity inside. Not a chance. It was packed and you couldn't skate at a normal pace sometimes. Too many slow skaters. Plus the line to rent skates was ridiculous. We ended up leaving at 4:30pm only after an hour. Very disappointed. They really need to offer online tickets for the preferred time slots so that it's not over packed with people. I normally skate at the Woodbridge community center but with the numbers being so high down there I decided to come here instead and boy was it a mistake. They don't offer enough seating for people who want to sit down and eat their food there is more seating for parties. read more

Took the kids for the afternoon skate from 3:30-5:30pm. The place was packed and has a very small parking lot. I had to drop the family off and go park in the bank parking lot next to the roller lot. I noticed tow signs around the lot but since it was a holiday and two other families just parked there, I took a chance. Even though never feeling certain the truck would still be there. Glad I took the chance. The whole family had a blast. Very chaotic as more experienced people want to zoom around the rink. Not the time to teach your child. The rink is big but filled to the people max. A couple of changing benches available and lockers you can ask for. Choose of roller skates or blades are available. Even training skates for the kids. Very inexpensive, fun thing to do. With some practice can be even better. Solid 3.5 star, just not a 4 because of the parking and it's over crowded ness. Family Fun at a reasonable price. At $7.50 for adult night admission and a $4.00 skate rental, the roller rink is affordably priced for family fun. Afternoon price is $6.50. The skates were in good condition and E2 skates with a wide wheel base were available for the young ones. Safety helmets, wrist and knee pad protection are worn by many. Like all rinks you could bring your own. The rink is not that big and often crowded at peak nights like Fri/Sat. So if you like to speed skate with unimpeded space, that probably won't happen. It's got a retro fell with glitzy lighting and 80's Disco Ball. The music was mostly contemporary pop artists, think Tayloe Swift played on a good sound system. The floor is well maintained which is a big plus in my opinion. For kids that want to take a break from skating, they offer arcade games, old school photo booth and a concession stand loaded with carnival fast foods and candies. She was aware that most of my guests were grown and gave us plenty of table space. We ordered food from Nonnas a local pizza place that was recommended to us. One of the last of its ilk. An old school roller rink, complete with all of the old school touches and charm. Reasonably priced skate rentals. (The skates are actually in good condition) Concession stand with all the affordably priced junk foods you'd expect. Decent sound system. Fun lighting. The skating surface was smooth and well maintained. For parties they'll let you bring in your own food/snacks/pizza/cake, etc. Just good fun for all ages. read more

If you're useless and need ten people to cater to you at all times look elsewhere but if you want to run your party your way with only friendly staff to hand out skates and watch for safety this is the place.
