Extremely disappointing Veterinary experience- "MISDIAGNOSIS" followed by significant expenses-…read more I strongly recommend that pet owners carefully consider other Veterinary options before bringing their animals here. My dog was seen by Dr. Debby Butler at this clinic for a serious problem involving his paws. I was extremely concerned with the evaluation and diagnosis because, in my experience, there was No adequate Hands-On examination of his paws, and no thorough diagnostic workup; such as Cytology, Skin Scraping, Culture, or other testing that I believe was warranted based on his symptoms. I was told the problem was caused by fire ants. When my dogs condition worsened, I was forced to seek treatment from an Animal Hospital Emergency room, and subsequently from other Veterinarians. My dog required additional treatment, and my total Veterinary expenses ultimately exceeded $1,400. I contacted Ark and bark and requested a refund / reimbursement because I believe the original diagnosis and treatment had failed to appropriately identify and address my dog's condition. However Dr. Butler / the clinic refused to provide the reimbursement I requested. This experience was extremely upsetting- not only because of the financial burden, but because when someone's Beloved animal is sick, they need a Veterinarian who will take the situation seriously, perform an appropriate examination, investigate the cause, and provide Competent follow-up care. I would encourage every pet owner to ask questions, obtain a thorough examination, and seek a 2nd opinion if something doesn't seem right. In my case, the consequences of having to seek additional care were substantial both financially and emotionally. It is Heartbreaking and deeply ironic that a Veterinarian would not take an animal's suffering seriously. A SICK AND SUFFERING DOG DESERVES COMPASSION,THOROUGHNESS,& COMPETENT MEDICAL CARE- NOT DISMISSAL. OUR ANIMALS TRUST US TO PROTECT THEM, & WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO TRUST THEIR VETERINARIAN TO DO THE SAME.

When we picked her up she was so emaciated and she has a severe respiratory infection. I called the Palm Bay animal hospital on a referral. Even though they didnt have an appointment time for her on a Saturday, they fit us in first thing. Dr. Jason and his staff are so wonderful with our kitty. We found out that she has hyperthyroidism and rotten teeth to go with the infection. Dr. Jason has prescribed medication for her that's transdermal, this allows us to give her her medication without to much stress. The office calls us everyday to check in with her development. Unfortunately the prognosis is not good at this time for our kitty but the attention, care and concern they show her is tremendous. We will absolutely bring our other furries to see Dr. Jason and his staff.

She was very professional, kind, and understanding. She took the time to explain the veterinarian's recommendations for our pet in a much more positive and understandable manner. I truly appreciated her willingness to listen to my concerns and address them. She also agreed that I had been overcharged for the heartworm test and offered to refund me the difference. She further explained that they would be reviewing their pricing to make it more consistent with other veterinary practices in the area. Although I have decided to switch to a different veterinarian at this time, I appreciate the manager's professionalism and the way she handled my concerns. Because of her response and willingness to make things right, I would still consider VCA Animal Hospital as an option for my pets in the future. Thank you to the manager for taking the time to listen and make a difficult situation much more positive.

She is patient and listens to my concerns and really cares about the wellbeing of my pets. This is exactly the kind of doctor I want treating my family. Yes their pricing is on the higher side. But I am happy to pay whatever the amount because I know that my dogs are getting exceptional care from life until the time that they must cross the rainbow bridge. I trust them implicitly. Unlike emergency places or other pet doctors. They aren't over selling me or at least I feel that way. My pup needed a surgey. The estimated was hard for me to swallo in one go. I was so scared my pup would die because I don't work hard enough at work. I told them my budget and ask how they could help with payment if possible. The Mangement or owner helped me out! That's not common and very respectful to pet owners and unbelievably trusting of their customers. Thank you! While, yes the neg reveiws are correct. It can be difficult to get them on the phone. Having said that, ALL my calls have been called back. Sometimes outside of regular business hours. They help me get vax records by phone. My experience has been great, I will be returning. I met Dr. Columbo while she was working at Patrick AFB Vet Clinic, and then I started using her office which is located right off of the 192 Causeway as you enter into Indialantic. Dr. Columbo is the sweetest and most caring Vet I have used in years. She helped my basset hound and our terrier mix for over 4 years. The first incident I had with my basset hound was his skin allergies. She gave me a topical lotion (which a previous Vet wouldn't offer him) and meds to help Boomer. My second major visit was when my basset hound had a serious eye issue that was misdiagnosed with another vet. Dr. Columbo immediately tested him for glaucoma...she was right! She gave me the good and bad news and gave him the best care. She even went above and beyond to call around to other local vets to see if someone could perform the eye surgery cheaper for me than the specialty doctor. As a vet I would recommend her to each and every person I could. I spoke highly of her to friends, coworkers, etc. Her office staff is very sweet as well to my family. They always recognized me by my first name and offered my dogs treats after each of their visits. I will admit that they could be hard to get ahold of in the office, but my best timing was around 9 in the morning. I was always able to call my heart worm meds in ahead of time, and she would have every thing ready for me when I came to pick it up that afternoon of the same day. The ladies even went above and beyond and gave me a baby gift (puppy onesie outfit with pants and stuffed dog) when I was pregnant with my second child. You cannot ask for a sweeter gesture of kindness than that I think! The office is very small but welcoming to everyone as soon as you drive up. She has it decorated very nicely outside and inside. She offers local pet decor, natural pet foods, pet supplies, and pet gifts. They even offer a 10% Military Discount towards office visits and pet supplies!
