Lots of items with names on them but not unusual names or spellings like the kiddies. When we pulled in I thought we were going to get some kind of Florida orange slushie or the fruit itself but we didn't. Lots of shells, Disney t shirts and shelves of items you'd probably buy for someone and it'll end up in some 2 nd hand shelf. I did buy a rubber chameleon for Bud to scare his mom, a small orange bouncy ball, violets candy, tin of mints that says alligator poop. If you want an entertaining Florida experience stop at a Florida Citrus Center if you're able. Not only do they have souvenirs galore (and I mean GALORE), but usually they have a gator hanging out inside too- yes, a live one. When they say "citrus" center they ain't kidding. Upon pulling up there are several booths full of fruit and small citrus trees you can take home to plant. Inside, there are bags and bags of oranges, dozens of different jams, jellies and chutneys, and every citrus themed souvenir you could think of. They also have these hilarious carved coconut guys that also function as piggy banks that were so neat and odd I couldn't pass up claiming one. We saw the baby gator inside the store, and he seemed really angry and unhappy to be cooped up in a tank. As soon as we walked up he was acting aggressive and I kind of felt bad for the little guy. But overall it's a clean shop, there's a bathroom and you can gas up the car if needed. Jennifer that was working at the counter was really nice and helped me discover the piggy bank feature of the coconut man. It's definitely an adventure stopping at one of these, but worth the memory. read more

This place has many signs lining the outside claiming to have baby gators etc- we did not see any gators alive They offer juice samples and fruit samples but that was the highlight- otherwise this is just like a normal gas station with souvenirs (and not really nice ones ). Conveniently located right off the interstate but the clerk was a sour person who was a bit rude. She made an off handed remark to a patron who asked a question she said, "The item is over there like I just told your wife". I asked what flavor salt water taffy was out for sampling and she said "I have no idea I didn't put it out". I like to buy gifts for all my comrades, homeboys and those that catch my peculiar drifts, wether they deserve it or not. I need the highway going in my direction sometimes more than not as my zodiac sign and stars say. A little trinket can be just the ticket. There's no more orange groves like I remember of old Florida, new Florida got attacked by some rogue bug that laid waste to the fields of beautiful citrus . I think some were called Valencias, they were present next to the Sweet Navels at this Citrus Center stop. Along with some bright yellow grapefruits were the boiled peanuts, they didn't tell me that on their big roadside sign. But the baby gators for sale really caught my attention to veer off to the death zone of money spending. To not leave Florida without a tourist trap push is boarder line impossible. But it's not really a trap, nobody is pointing a gun to your head demanding you buy the swamp ass scented candles or the12 foot flamingo you need a sunroof to stick his big pink head out of. I bought coconuts and googly eyed crabs, plus a 50 dollar alligator head, a bad purchase that made total sense at the time and some crustation shells that looked a bit suspicious. And if you don't like that stuff, well, they have some real junk. Such as spiny shells with fang like extensions that cracked off and I can not identify this species of shell to anything of this underwater planet barring something scientifically engineered and -- now that I think that's probably it, but they were pretty so I took five. Back on the road with miles to go thinking about wrapping paper and the cold northeast winter ahead. I'll look fondly upon these items knowing that they are telling me "spring isn't too far away". read more

I've been to Florida many times so I had most of the souvenir items but they have a huge assortment of candies, toys, clothing, magnets, jams jellies, hot sauce, seasonal fruits and let's not forget the alligator heads. Typical souvenir type place.. every little odds and ends you can think of. The staff are very nice and friendly. Customers are dirty leaving the bathrooms a mess. The woman's bathroom was in better shape than the men's. Family restroom was a wreck since a customer decided to throw paper towels in the toilet. They have bagged citrus and you bag citrus in front of the store and bagged citrus inside the store. They have free samples of fresh orange juice. This wasn't from concentrate like the welcome center, it was much better. They do have all sorts of jams and jellies. I picked up red navels and orange navels that they had pre bagged. The clerk took the one back that was marked 14.95 and noticed it wasn't full so she weighed it and only charged us 12.00. She went beyond what she needed and I appreciate that. read more

This is a good stop for gas, gators and citrus. I bought an eight pound of honey bell oranges which should last through the Carolina winter. They are one of the best varieties of sweet oranges and are shaped like a bell hence the name. Nothing like an orange to brighten up a wintery day:) read more

We always would stop here on our way home from the beach. This year the 2 female workers were so rude, and absolutely no help at all. Bathrooms were disgusting, flys coming from peach baskets, and out of almost everything. Wanted to buy some of the orange juice and was told no by the workers. Probably too lazy to make it. Florida Citrus Centers are throughout the portions of the state of Florida and they're mostly fun places to stop in while traveling. My honey likened it to Stuckey's and she's not wrong. But to be fair they don't have adult abd baby alligators at Stuckey's LOL So as it is like a Stuckey's with gators you know I had to overrule her reluctance to make a stop and besides I just had to bring some more FL produce home with me :-) I pull in and there's also gas here and once inside, you guessed it, it's a FL Stuckey's LOL Hey they even sell pecan rolls ROFLMAO Okay if I can stop laughing here's what to expect. Of course there's citrus, oranges and oranges mostly, but there's the expected souvenirs and your tourist stuff but there's also jellies, honey, refreshments, etc. so it's not a bad pitstop. I can't find proper information about the companies origins or history so I can't have a lot of confidence in the Florida Citrus Center, Inc. but it is what it is and it's a good place to stop for fruit, but their bathrooms are lacking to say the least. Bottom line: I'm enjoying the white and pink grapefruit I purchased and it's not a bad place to stretch your legs either. read more
