It has a welcoming and efficient staff lead by a dynamo manager name Kelsey who is like a whirlwind, but always has the time to cheerfully help the customer with whatever they need. She sets the tone and environment and makes it a pleasant shopping experience. The store is neat, clean, orderly, and inviting. Not glitzy or campy at all. Five stars all the way! Tourist trap with rip off prices. The worst of the worst. Not worth the stop. Don't expect to find $1 bags of citrus. They sell crappy juice oranges for $1 apiece. We also got boiled peanuts. This is a retro roadside Florida orange vendor. It reminds me of driving through Florida when I was a child and stopping to pick up some fresh citrus products. I sampled the sweet juicy oranges and they tasted just as good as they looked. I wish I had more time to spend here, but I'm sure I'll be back again! read more

I have to first and foremost thank the king gentleman that worked there. He stocks the oranges and he also helped direct me to the different varieties of oranges to try. I learned so much about oranges and the variety they have, navel oranges and ruby red grapefruits. The best part of stopping by is sampling the 5 choices of citrus fruits. They are so sweet and I wasn't going to pass up buying one. I also bought this orange juice contraption used to drink the orange juice directly from the orange itself. They had rum cake and many selections to choice from. I got the lime rum cake. The lady who worked the register was so friendly and hospitable. Her name is Helen, she is such a sweet lady. Happy we got to pass by and grab some oranges for the roads. read more

This place is the worst. It's a big scam and a ripoff. They charge 20 cents a gallon more than any of the other gas stations. Pumps are broken. Extra charges to use credit cards. I will avoid this place like the plague in the future. read more

It was really disappointed from the billboard advertisement on the highway. Elections aren't great and prices on their item is just ridiculously high. They advertised indian river fruits $1 a bag. Funny how 2 oranges in the bag and its a $1. And the biggest packaged fruits were way too expensive. And the souvenirs are not significant but priced high market. Anyways, I just thought that they had tricky was of doing business and I wished that they would advertise appropriately. read more

What's with these low ratings? I had a blast at this little tourist shop. I saw the billboards and stopped in hoping to pick up some good souvenirs before we hit Georgia. They also advertised baby alligators, so where can you go wrong? I got exactly what I was promised: baby alligators and a HUUUGE stock of every kind of tourist souvenir I could have hoped for. Specifically, my friends from up north requested a Florida snowglobe and this place has rows and rows FULL of them! You want shot glasses? You got it! Disney T-shirts? You betcha! What about a bag gift for grandma? Check! They even had an entire barrel full of really cute $1 keychains for those on a tighter budget. Now I will say, however, that I did not use the restrooms here. My fiance did and he said they were less than amazing, but nothing to complain about. I will definitely return again when driving through the state for souvenirs. read more

Don't bother. This does not live up to my fantasy of stopping at a roadside place and pick up a bag of Florida oranges. Every Florida Citrus Center is also a gas station, and your low quality oranges come with a thin film of gas fumes. Baby alligators in the tank were cute. Bathrooms were disgusting. The small convenience store is jam packed with cheap souvenirs. We left without oranges, and smelly like gas fumes. read more

Don't believe the negative reviews. This is a classic roadside Florida Citrus stand. If Florida orange crops are bad you can't expect miracles. For the last few years they have had to deal with blight, mold, freezes and hurricanes that have had devastating effects. This year the crops are bouncing back... Don't believe me, Google it for your self... We just stopped by on our way from Miami to NY. The staff was helpful in helping us pick oranges and grapefruits... Before we left the lot we sampled one out of each sack. They were every bit as good as ww ever had. read more

My husband and I were returning from a trip to Orlando and stopped to get oranges after seeing the many, many signs along the highway. We anticipated sharing these with our neighbors. We'll, all of the oranges in the 8lb bag were rotten. We paid $14.95 and had to put the in the trash. Yuck. Don't waste your time. What a nice tourist trap. I am so happy I was able to stop here. The store also has a gas station, so you can hit two birds with one stone. The store has many many different Florida novelties, from magnets to salt water taffy, tshirts, little jewelry boxes, and tshirts. Most of the items are reasonably priced. They also have bags of oranges and little orange trees for sale. The trees were a little temping, but I had to remember where I live!;) Definitely a good stop to make when heading out of the state on 95. read more

Great stop convenient right off 75, so glad we chose to go as employee outside was very helpful answering questions about lemon tree purchase. Cold fresh fruit samples are offered too! Inside there's huge selection of souvenirs in all price ranges. Kids items are plentiful & priced fair, & employees were so kind. Highly recommend for families w/children to shop. read more

Not sure whose idea it was to make a gas station or a fruit stand into a tourist trap, but that person definitely had a business mind. Anyway, this isn't a place you could miss. Giant neon signs all over the highway will direct you here saying Indian River fruit, or pecan rolls, or fireworks, etc. immediately off of I95. Fairly convenient location. There are a couple buildings. There are gas pumps at both locations. They advertise a price on the billboard but when you get to the pump, you will realize that it's for cash price. Card prices are up to $0.10 higher per gallon. How deceiving. The do have fresh fruit samples for free in front of the store. The gift shop is filled with nicknacks, t shirts, decorations, and candies. Crappy quality things for higher prices. Restrooms are decent in terms of cleanliness. Overall, convenient place to get gas and grab some fruit for the road. I'm not really into the gift shops so this just looks like a big tourist trap to me. The deceiving prices are annoying too. I'm hesitant to rate this with 1.5 stars but I really am not a fan. read more

I had to give them one star. Bill boards advertise One pound of pecans shelled $5.99 when you go in and ask for them as they are advertised they tell you that that's the one pound bag that's ground up in fine crumbs for baking and breading. I fussed with him telling him that was false advertisement!!! Said well that's what we have for $5.99 This is not good business. They push there items on you trying to get you to buy more than you need. We did buy some oranges. Very dark skinned like they are diseased fruit. But they still taste good. But way overpriced items for sale. We left and went over to the place opposite this store. It's more than likely owned by same family. Same deal. No we don't have any, only shelled ones for $5.99 is the bag there used for baking. I told him to it was false advertisement. If we had time I would have called cops and got him to sell me the one pound bag of shelled pecans like it was advertised. Shady people there. Buyer beware. Don't stop here. Too pricey and false advertisement schemes just to get you in the store. read more

She purchased me a bag of oranges to bring back as I was born and raised in Florida. The oranges these people sell were bruised, old, and on the verge of being rotten. Dont waate your time at this tourist trap. Billboards promise a 13 foot aligator and orange juice. The gator is stuffed. The oj was fresh from the same bottles you buy from the supermarket. Fresh, my ass. Indian river fruit, like the supermarket. Water downed trash. I tried to buy a glassfull, they didn't even have any to sell. Baby gators were cute. Gift Shop offered the typical florida themed imported trash and treats. Nothing unique. Rude staff. Tourist trap, and a bit on the expensive side I thought, but by this point we were ready to get the hell out of Florida so we paid the extra for convenience. Toilets were awful also, very gross. But again, by this point on the trip we were ready to head home so we sucked it up to continue on the 15+hr drive from here quicker. Be cautious when buying fruit from FCC . What a disappointment They even bagged the rotten oranges ! They bag on the site I assume they think they can pass off the rotten ones to tourist. 1/2 the bag was rotten & moldy all moldy was facing inside so to the eye it looked beautiful. I stopped by this citrus center due to the promises of the billboards: fresh fruit & pecans. I was told one price and then charged another at the register. Don't buy the bagged fruit as it is the old stuff. Dry & discolored. Also double check the size of you pecan bags. I purchased the 5 lb and found the 2 lb in my bag. The nuts were a mixture of fresh and dried up nuts. This is not a good place to do business. I reached home and I'm still pissed that people could be so dishonest. read more

Do not stop here! Bought bags of oranges, grapefruit and tangerines. The tangerines were fine. The grapefruit and oranges were cull fruit that I am sure could not be shipped out of Florida. This is in my humble opinion, a tourist trap. Advertises $4.99 a pound for fresh shelled pecans, leaving out the detail that the pecans are actually pecan dust from the sheller and pecan halves are $10.99 for 10 oz. The 'bags of fruit for $1' are 2 oranges in a plastic bag. You can do better at the grocery store. But if you're looking for a stop on the highway, you can be entertained. Buyer beware. An amazing story: On our way home from Orlando, our family stopped at this roadside citrus store to use the facilities and buy some oranges and souvenirs. We were happy with our purchases and continued up the road. An hour or so later, our 7 year old daughter started crying. She realized that she had lost her prized toy dinosaur. (Parents and readers of Knuffle Bunny books will know this feeling.) After some thought, we figured that she most likely left it at the Florida Citrus Center while she was checking out the cool conch shells. On a whim, I called them and asked if they had found a plastic dinosaur. At first, they didn't find anything, but hours later, lo and behold! They called back and the Dino was found! I begged the lady on the phone to send it to us and asked how I could send her some money for the shipping. She said not to worry. She would pay for the shipping herself!! I was stunned at her kindness, and thanked her profusely, knowing that once she found out the shipping would be a huge pain, she'd most likely let it slip her mind. But I was wrong!!! The precious dinosaur arrived in the mail today!! I can't wait to see the look on my daughter's face when she comes home from school!! Thank you, kind lady from the Florida Citrus Center!!!! After trying the free orange samples I purhased 7 half bushel bags and 1 quarter bushel bags of oranges to give as gifts back home - my bad I purchased without closely checking the bags. The day after buying the oranges and packing them in the car my thumb poked a hole in one. That night I took the bag out of the car and opened it finding several mouldy oranges and many less appealing oranges. After opening all bags we ended up throwing away 5 bags and giving 2 1/2 bags to a local food bank. The oranges were not fit for gifts. Upon closer inspection I see the bag said #2 or better and when I went on line I saw what this meant - the oranges looked great in the bag but !! Suggest you really check out what you buy. read more
