We have used MANY invisible fence products... and we HIGHLY recommend using them…read more We had our invisible fence installed quite a few years ago for our Boston terrier mix, Lu, after a teen was jogging down our street and Lu chased her. She got so scared, she started to cry. No matter how hard we tried, a door was left open and Lu would go after other dogs, bikes, squirrels, and the poor teen that was jogging was the final straw. It immediately worked great! Lu stayed in the yard and trained very easily, thanks to Sam (the trainer that is included when you install). We had to call Sam back once or twice to correct the sting of the shock, but it was included in the training. We called him back when we noticed Lu would risk the shock to chase a squirrel (very irresistible!). The second part is why I am writing such a great review. We added a chihuahua, Mia, to the family almost 2 years ago. She came with MANY more challenges. I had a fully trained 9 lb chihuahua in the past, and was told Mia would be 6-9 lbs. after 2 years, it's apparent she's a toy chihuahua & only weighs 5 lbs. Due to the addition of Mia, we now use many products, including a line around our pool, large disks at the bedroom doors, & small disks at food bowls. If it wasn't for invisible fence, I would have had to re-home Mia! The icing on the cake is my mom's stays are more enjoyable as well. She often comes for multiple days with 3 dogs. All of them are now linked to her house & my mine, too! Here is what we use from invisible fence: -Potty training: Get large disks- Being so small, Mia simply cannot hold her bladder! Her favorite spots were on our new bedroom carpets! We put large disks at the door of each carpeted room. As she approaches, it beeps just as if she was outside and approaching the invisible fence line. So she does not go into the room. If she were to push it, she'd get shocked, but they rarely need to be shocked. The beeping always works to correct the behavior. She now is forced to go to her pee pad. They are expensive, but VERY worth it. If we want her in our room, we take her collar off, just as if she was going on a walk, and put her on the bed. She acts like the floor is lava and will not jump off the bed! She waits to be taken back out of the room when we are ready, then we put her collar back on so she can't come in without us. (Another bonus, we included Lu so she could not go into rooms and lay in beds, where she would leave large wet spots from licking herself & hair in the beds. My son's allergies have improved greatly; he's not allergic to dogs, but slept in the bed where she shedded and the little hairs must've bothered him, as we've now noticed his allergies are much better. Pool line: Get a rock- it holds the electronics and the line comes out & goes around the inside of the pool- Sam was brilliant to come up with this after I casually mentioned that I was afraid Mia would fall in the pool during a training visit. He got into our pool and installed the line! Now Mia will hear beeps as she approaches the pool, and does not go near it. Bonus: Lu also liked to jump in the pool, right as I was ready to leave the house. We'd have to dry her off and put her in a tiled room, making me late to where I was going. The pool line also keeps Lu from jumping in! It was just something we dealt with before, but now we don't have to worry about it & it's nice! Dog food sharing: Get small disks - We leave the food down all day and let them graze. It was obviously fine when we only had Lu, but when we added Mia, she was eating Lu's food & vice versa. Knowing overweight pups is a huge concern for their health, we added the small disks to keep them away from eachother's food! And finally, we added dogs from other homes to our fence/ The icing on the cake - When my mother started to come over with her 3 dogs for long stays, her dogs would smell where Mia used to go on the carpets, even though I used a carpet cleaner and cleaned them well. My mom has invisible fence at her house. I called & Sam came right out & linked our invisible fence with her collars. Now we can have all 5 dogs stay in the yard, out of the carpeted rooms, and away from each other's food. Simply amazing!! My story is so long because it obviously solves huge headaches we all deal with because we love our dogs, but these solutions saved our family from finding Mia a new home, which would have been horrible! We love her so much, but couldn't live with her peeing on our new carpets...& life in general is MUCH easier, too!

What should have been a straightforward fence installation turned into weeks of stress, frustration, and constant follow-up on our end. I want to be clear: our sales representative, Harold Dumas, was the only positive part of this experience in the beginning. He was friendly, professional, and communicative up until the project was ready to begin. After that point, communication completely fell apart. My husband would receive early morning calls saying, "We're ready to start," with no prior scheduling confirmation and no reasonable timeframe given. We have neighbors with children and pets who require notice for safety reasons. Instead, crews were ready to show up before we had even been given the opportunity to inform anyone around us. It was inconsiderate and completely unprofessional. Not only that, but because the initial work was not done correctly, the crew had to come back out and redo sections of the fence. That meant coordinating schedules, notifying neighbors, securing pets, and rearranging our own work obligations all over again. This entire process had to happen twice because the job wasn't done properly the first time. When issues arose and we were trying to get things scheduled and confirm days, my husband called and texted Harold and received no response. When I called the office, I was told I needed to speak with Harold -- the same person who was not responding. We were sent in circles trying to get answers about a project we had already paid thousands of dollars for. As for the workmanship itself: I will be posting photos. Corners were literally cut. Nails were sticking out of the fence. Some boards were missed entirely and never nailed down. This is basic installation work and there is absolutely no excuse for that level of carelessness. The "cleanup" was just as alarming. Trash was left on both our property and our neighbor's property. A stack of nails was left sitting on top of our A/C unit where they could have fallen in and caused damage. Nails that were ground off because they were protruding were left scattered on the ground. Children play in these yards. Dogs run freely. The fact that we even have to worry about someone getting injured because of leftover debris is outrageous. At this point, the biggest issue is trust. After everything we've experienced, I am already questioning the integrity of the work behind what we can't see. When visible details are this sloppy, it is hard to feel confident in the structural quality of the rest. I regret convincing my husband to use this company. We expected professionalism, quality, and accountability. Instead, we got poor communication, substandard workmanship, and a drawn-out process that never should have happened.

The gate has had constant issues for the last seven months following install. Finally, it broke altogether and I cannot get anyone to come help me fix it. I would not recommend using them.

After contacting Bullard (Jan 26, 2020 - prior to any pandemic lock down) I was told a crew would be out to fix both gates and a 4x4 post that was attached to the side of our house with three small inadequate wood screws. I waited a few weeks and contacted Bullard again and received the same response. Finally after two more months of waiting I sent pictures to Bullard and was assured the pictures were being printed and given to a crew who would repair our gates. I finally gave up on Bullard to stand behind their work and honor their warranty and fixed the gates myself. I replaced hard ware with correct lag bolts and adjusted hardware placement to ensure the gates closed easily and properly. Bullard Fence completely quit corresponding with me, never returned a phone call, and ignored multiple repair requests. After doing a little digging I've found several other complaints about Bullard's lack of customer support. They also have 7 complaints filed agains them on bbb.org so please do your research and avoid using Bullard Fence. I'm amending my initial review of Bullard due to poor customer service.

I have contacted an attorney and If anyone would like to join in the lawsuit let me know. I've been waiting since June 2022 and still today December, they have not installed, communicated nor refunded my money. I've asked them many times, and the last communication I was told that I was #6 in the refund list; two months ago. I've spoken with Karla (liar), Timothy (another liar), Mandy (Incredible liar). As you can see, they are all liars and just want to steal your money. It's a SCAM Company! Karla "The Liar" told me that they were so blessed that they had so much work and were very busy. However, when I spoke with Timothy "The Owner", he said that they only had $18 in the bank, they have no money and short staffed, So I said, Ok, so I gave you $1,998 I gave you to start my fence, his response was; "Well I have to pay my employees, and your are not a priority right now". So they used "MY" money to pay their employees and have not even placed a single nail in my house and six months later, still no fence and no money. You can email me just your name and email so we can communicate at: fencescam@gmail.com Lets make sure these people pay what they have stolen. If everyone gets together we can have them arrested because it will be considered fraud. I'm not gonna rest until these people pay-up!

I spoke with a person named Daniel, and I informed him that the installation of a fence that Fence Direct, Inc installed (less than a year ago) was horrible-boards bowing away from the fence frame, fence frame coming loose, a little hole drilled in a piece of rock was that was used for the drop bolt, the gate did not close properly (have to force it closed). Although, I know the warranty ends when there is a change of ownership; however, regardless of a change of ownership, the installation was subpar, and since the fence was installed less that a year ago, in the vein of integrity, responsibility and company reputation, I feel they should repair the problems. Nonetheless, Daniel informed me that he can send someone out to give me a quote to repair the fence (more money to fix problems that, in my opinion, resulted from subpar work and should not be occurring). Daniel went on to say that nothing is free, which I thought was very rude, unprofessional, condescending and totally unnecessary as the nature of my call was to inform him of the terrible installation job and to see if they would take ownership of the supar work they performed. I feel that this company, as in this case, does not stand by the work they do, so use this company at your own risk. Buyer beware!!
