My visit with the eye Dr Ananthan-Nair was excellent. I have floaters in one of my eyes and I felt that he was thorough and answered all of my questions. I didn't feel rushed and am happy to have come here. The technician, Greg, was also a pleasure to work with. He is a great part of the eye team. The front desk staff that checked me in, however, were underwhelming and I hope they were just having a too busy day to make me feel like I was in a 5 star encounter. Before booking a consultation, I specifically called and explained in detail why I wanted to come in. When I arrived for my appt., they had me pay my office visit fee up front, then a staff member took me back where they began administrating a number of eye exam tests in several different rooms. Once they were completed, the doctor came in and asked me a few questions then left. His assistant then advised that they did not perform the services I needed and would give me a referral to another doctor. They mailed me a bill for $215, even though I did not come in for an eye sight issue but for an eye lid matter which I clearly stated before I came in and also on the initial intake forms they had me fill out. They should have informed me up front that they do not perform that type of surgery. They wasted my time and money and I dont appreciate it. read more

I got a quote for eye glasses. Frames were Ann Taylor. My payment quoted was $446 after insurance. I went across the street to Total Vision on Enterprise Rd and got a quote for no brand name frames. My payment was $50 after insurance. How can Florida Eye Clinic justify charging almost $400 more? read more

The two star rating is for the doctor who was very nice. The rest of the staff not so great. Especially the guy at the eyeglass area. It has been two months since my eye exam. I am in need of new lenses. I have left multiple messages and never received a call back. I enlisted the help of my insurance to try to get through. They had no luck either. My insurance co. Tells me Florida Eye clinic has not even attempted to obtain authorization on my lenses for this year. So this begs the question, does anyone work there anymore? What is going on? At least a call back on the status of my lenses would be appreciated. read more

I grew up going to the discount places in the malls and then the strip plazas but everybody knows by name, but for the past three years I've been going to Florida eye clinic and Orange City and I would never change that. I truly understand what it means to avoid the "walk-in clinics" now. I always thought, "almost perfect is about as good as it could get.". Dr. James Jochum and his staff are the best, my husband just had cateract surgery and it was so easy and successful; he is looking forward to having the other one done soon. Dr. Jochum did both my eyes several years ago and I have been very happy, no need for glasses. I would definitely recommend Dr. Jochum. read more

Not very pleased with the efficiency of their operation here. I had a 10:45 appt and by 12:30 the only thing that has been done is that the tech dilated my eyes. Another woman here loudly announced she had a 10:00 appt so she walked out at noon after having never been seen. The couple next to me has been sitting here for 2 hours. GET A CLUE FLORIDA EYE CLINIC!!!! Schedule accordingly. I'm pretty sure no one minds a short wait but when you get up on a 2+ hour wait it begins to appear like the doc is more interested in overbooking for the sake of filling his wallet!! Not the best interest of his patients. In addition, the patient restrooms are vastly under par and need a good cleaning/restocking. On a more positive note, dr. Jochum seems to know what he's doing and appears to be competent in his trade. read more

I have gone to Florida Eye Clinic for over 20 years to Dr. Caan. He has retired and I really like the new Eye Doctor, but, getting past the front desk and contact person is beyond ridiculous. I called on Tuesday and spoke to her in person and she was busy said she would call me back that afternoon. Now 2 days later still no return. I need contacts. This is no the first time, last time I left a message and she pretty much called me a liar and said I did not leave one. Can't believe that they can still have that kind of office staff. The service at this location is terrible. The person I had to call about getting a replacement set of trial lenses didn't call back. I had to call her and was told it would be two days for another pair to arrive and they would call me. She acted as if it was troubling her to even do her job. I waited for over a week. When I called today to speak with a manager I got Debbie who also had an attitude and informed me that they had called and left a voice mail. I have never received any message from them. I called to speak with Sue who is the office manager and she acted like a snot as well. It was too much of an effort for any of them the just do their job. Although they got my money for the eye exam, I am taking my $400 contact order elsewhere. In reading other reviews I am not alone. read more

I had a very unsatisfactory experience at the orange City location. I purchased glasses in 11/2012. within 6 months, the lenses were smudgy and the frames snapped as I was cleaning them. They replaced my frames, and they snapped again. When I went back, they told me that the one year warranty had expired. This was the most expensive pair of glasses I had ever purchased, and the lenses that are recommended were sub par, and as I have stated, the frames snapped twice. I would not recommend going there, and i told them I would never return. read more

My youngest son was seen and everything went great. The appointment was long, but it was expected. My second son's appointment was delayed to the point of needing to be rescheduled. We missed the follow up appointment and got a no-show bill in the mail. After calling the office, and explaining why we needed a second appointment, the fee was removed. Expect to wait a looooonnnngggg time!!! Dr Jochum's office schedules over 20 injections per day. 3 or 4 hours waiting to get an eye injection, is not uncommon. My husband and I had a great experience at Florida Eye Clinic. It was my husbands first eye exam and they were great at explaining everything they were doing. Dr. Wang was very informative with my vision and the options available to me. The lab where you can order glasses has a good selection. The turn around time for our glasses was 10-12 days which isn't too bad. I will be using this same office in a year for my next exam! read more

Dr. Wang is the best! She found an issue with my retina that other Opthamologists had missed. Dr. Wang helped improve my vision with more modern exams and products than my previous doctor. I can see so much better and my new contacts are way more comfortable than any I have previously worn. They keep switching doctors, and the last time my daughter and I went there we both came out with eyewear we cannot use. I got glasses that give me headaches and she got contacts which keep clouding over and she has to change pairs every week. We have tried to get the problems corrected but are told we have to pay for it because we already used our insurance for the first ones. So take my advise and go somewhere else and get eyewear you can actually use without having to pay for it twice. read more

After the exam, I was quoted a price of over $100 for their most basic frame and lens. That is after the $100 insurance payment, bringing the total to over $200. I took my prescription to Wal mart and received an excellent pair of glasses for $37, without insurance. Two years ago, I was told by them I had cataracts that needed to be removed. Seeing them inflate the cost at every possible turn, I refused. Last month I used a different ophthalmologist, who told me my cataracts were minor, but may need attention in another year or two. read more
