As a recent(ish) north Orlando transplant, I've spent a good amount of time this year trying to find new doctors, grocery stores, etc to replace my favorites from South Florida. Frutchey Eye Care has been one of my best finds this year. The entire office staff, from the front desk, to the optician to the optometrist were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I was able to get in quickly for an appointment (no waiting for weeks!), and I saw Dr. Mark. He was very thorough in his explanations, and I didn't spend too much time waiting for him. The whole process was pretty easy, and he made sure to demonstrate why I might benefit from new glasses (I knew it was long past time though, he didn't need to convince me- I was having a hard time reading street signs at night and knew I needed to get that taken care of ASAP). The selection of glasses is a tad pricy but there are loads of them, and my coverage is decent. The co-pay for the actual office visit wasn't much at all, and they answered all my questions happily. I would definitely recommend them. The day my glasses came in, I got a call late in the evening, and rushed to get there before they closed at 7. I made it at about 6:58 and they were happy to take care of me regardless of the time, which was greatly appreciated. Just to note, the optician isn't available on Wednesdays. Dr is nice and explains things well, but we weren't even seen by the Dr until 70 min after the scheduled time. I have work to do. My time is valuable. There are 2 doctors in here and at least 7-8 patients in the office at once. They overbook. I wasn't asked if the appointment was for contacts or eye glasses. I was told it would be an additional $94 and another appointment which would cost me another 2 hours (probably more with these wait times) for a contact lens exam. No. Just no. read more

I have been going to the Frutcheys since their days at VW. I started with Mark Frutchey in Altamonte and have been with Sandra Frutchey probably the last 20-25 years at her VW days. They treat you like family as well as their staff. They are very welcoming and on top of their game. The Drs are both very thorough and take their time with every single patient. I have gone to Dr. Sandra Frutchey at Frutchey Eye Care in Sanford for eye exams and vision correction for several years. I have always appreciated her friendly and caring approach as well as her skill as an optometrist. Lately I have been especially grateful for her knowledge and advice regarding cataract surgery. She has taken the time to explain numerous aspects of the surgery to me and to give me advice regarding some of the intraocular lens options. Without her help, I would have been completely overwhelmed by the choices and the results of each, including the need or lack thereof of glasses following surgery. I've been going to Dr. Mark for 15+ years. He is awesome! During that time he and his wife opened a practice together at this location, which is a good hour from where I live, but it is so worth the trip! People have asked why I travel so far, I tell them because he really is THAT great. He listens, answers any questions you have, and NEVER rushes you. He has a very cool personality and makes patients feel very comfortable. I have had a few visits with Dr. Sandra and she is as wonderful as he. The office is clean and organized, and their staff is friendly. It's nice to have a doctor I truly trust. They conveniently have Saturday hours but, be understanding, they get really busy during that time. If you need an eye doctor, look no further. I promise you won't be disappointed! read more

The staff is great and both the doctors Frutchey are so knowledgable. I've gone here for several years and everyone is so helpful and caring. I've even gotten my family to get their eye exams here now. My husband used to just go wherever there was an advertised sale and ended up coming here after an incorrect prescription. They have a pretty great selections of glasses and work with your budget. I see Dr. Sandra and she explains everything so well and is very personable. My family I have been patients for several years. We have always seen Dr. Sandra but I'm sure her husband Dr. Mark Frutchey is just as competent. She is professional yet easy to talk to. Is not overly assertive for extras but will refer you to a specialist if needed. The office staff is very friendly. Several of the staff have been there many years which is hard to find these days. They offer fashionable eyewear but are not pushy if you do not like the selection and choose to buy elsewhere. I highly recommend them. read more

Very disappointed in the way my spouse was greeted at the front door/reception area. Patty greeted him with the "Office is Closed" and not taking anyone due to doctors have COVID and shut the door. Very unprofessional in the manner to greet a potential client, would not recommend even in the best of situations with staff who can not conduct themselves properly. COVID is no joke, but the manner was not necessary either to which he was handled. Will not go back nor recommend to any other federal employees. read more

I've been to several eye doctors for chronic dry eye and Dr Frutchey definitely had the best understanding of the condition and what could realistically be done to keep it under control (in my case, warm compresses or Bruder mask several times a day) instead of just telling me to use more eye drops. read more

I received my glasses here in Kuwait .I notice the little dots on the lenses tint, but it was hardly noticeable. I didn't call or complain, I was just happy to have received the glasses here in Kuwait. The staff showed great work ethic's by correcting the flaw on their own and sent me a new pair of lenses unbeknown to my knowledge. I've never had an extensive eye exam and wasn't sure I'd be able to afford one. I've been having migraines daily and wanted to make sure they weren't caused by my vision. My insurance plan covered a visit for my eye exam. I called and scheduled an appointment, the phone staff was very friendly. Once at the appointment, I didn't have to wait very long to be seen. Front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Everyone in the office was awesome! The Doctor himself really made this a wonderful experience. He was helpful, patient, and very informative. He discussed my eye vision results thoroughly and explained what that meant, and why I need glasses. Very cool guy! (Sidenote: Classic Rock fan- he has a Jimmy Page room and a Slash room). I've known Dr Sandra Frutchey for many years. Many years ago in a routine exam, she diagnosed a group of abnormal cells that turned out to be a tumor that required immediate removal. She helped me to locate the best surgeon and the operation was successful. II still depend on her and her husband, Dr. Mark Frutchey, to continue to give me the best care possible. My Mom and Dad moved in with me following Dad's stroke, and Drs. Sandra and Mark have continued their outstanding care. Mom recently started having problems with reading and intermittent blurriness. Dr. Sandra diagnosed the problem, made immediate Arrangements to get her into a retinal specialist and by the close of business the next day, Mom was treated and on the way back to good vision. Drs. Sandra and Mark are very knowledgeable about trends in eye care and their diagnostic capabilities and equipment are outstanding. Their staff is professional, friendly and relaxed. If you're looking for top flight vision professionals who know their field inside and out, and have the contacts to quickly refer you to specialists on the off chance they're needed, Drs. Sandra and Mark should be your choice. I can count the number of referrals I've EVER taken the time to write on one hand with fingers left over.
