Dr. Smith actually studied under the doctor that created the surgical procedure I had as a toddler. Way Cool! We went in for a consultation. We didn't end up using him for the surgery (hospital privileges & other things were hard to coordinate), but I did schedule a few appointments to come in for a glycolic peel. Mom was willing to pay, I was willing to go. Super friendly staff from the front desk to the nurses. Very courteous & helpful with providing as much information as you need. If I ever consider doing anything cosmetically - doubtful, but never say never - I would definitely have Dr. Smith's office on my list as one of the first places to check out.

I paid $20,000 for a chin lift, brow lift and laser around the eyes and mouth. It's two years later and I'm still trying to get things right, as my lips are full of wrinkles and my forehead is wavy. I also still have numbness in my throat and neck. Dr. Snyder did try fillers in my forehead (which I found out later that fillers should not be injected into the forehead) and my lips but they didn't work. At this point I am beyond tired of going back to have him fix things because it's now been two years, and I think he thinks he's done his job. Instead of filling my forehead and lips full of fillers that won't last, he should have REDONE my forehead and lips. But no, that was never an option even though I asked. He gave me some talk-speak about having to go through general anesthetic again, blah blah blah. I REMEMBER HIS WORDS BEFORE SURGERY WHEN I PRAISED HIS REPUTATION. "YOU'RE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR LAST SURGERY." Well if I'm his best, look out folks! So I went back in today, one last time to see what he was willing/able to do. I showed him a picture of my lips that I took in the mirror at home and his response: "they don't look that way in here, you were puckering." PUCKERING!!!! SO insulting. I was not puckering. Then I asked him if the numbness/neuropathy was every going to go away (it's been 2 years). His response: I don't know because no one has ever asked me that two years out. What????? He doesn't know because no one ever asked him? What kind of answer is that. And of course he deflected by correcting me that it was numbness, not neuropathy. This guy is all about keeping power of the discussion through deflection and spewing medical terms at lightening speed. He was clearly fed up with me, and me with him. He gave me very leveled "doctor respect," which is just a cover up for whatever it was he was really feeling. So, my chin looks very good. I will go elsewhere for filler, especially if altering failing to get rid of the wrinkles and leaving me with a wavy forehead (which he no longer sees -- how convenient). $20K Cha Ching! One last thing that I never reviewed, but shared with them, was the comfortable, dirty environment where they keep people overnight. I'm told that my feed back caused them to fix this situation, but now that it has all turned to a steaming mess I'll share. They have you spend the night, but don't offer any food. I think now they are telling people to bring good. I was in a horribly uncomfortable recliner with dirty cup holders and floors, plaster coming off the walls. I was post surgical and bottoming out, and needed food. She found me something in the refrigerator that probably belonged to an employee. So beautiful and lush where the public can see, dirty and horrible the part that the public cannot see. Both physically and interactively. I'm done with these guys who think they are the greatest, who mostly want to hawk producers and expensive surgeries. He does help third world children by mending cleft pallets, so that's one positive thing I can say about him. He is fake polite and friendly in an oh-so-doctorish way. I find him intimidating because he knows the medicine and can argue anything he likes in medical-ese, and it's pretty hard to go up against him. When he went through the records though, he didn't remember a lot of things, and said things were not done that showed up in the records as being done. FOLLOW UP: Since I wrote this review 6 weeks ago or so, a woman named Jennifer who represented Ponte Vedra Plastic Risk Management called me. I couldn't talk to her at the time, but was heartened, whether right or wrong, that someone was actually following up on my reviews and the things I said. We agreed to talk the next day but I never heard from her, so I called her and got her voice mail. She called again once more but I missed the call. I HAVE NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN.

Favorite quality of Contoura.. It's trustworthy. No one has ever tried to "sell me" anything here…read more By that I mean, no one is telling me I need to have certain work done, or pushing me to get fillers because I am of a certain age, or suggesting procedures I've never thought about before. I genuinely keep coming back because of the friendly staff, and trust. Now if or when that day ever comes where surgically I'd like to have something done, I'd choose Contoura. But for now, I'm happy coming here every few months for things like skin care, sun damage repair, advice (that's a big one) etc. Living in Florida, you Need a good skin care plan & regimen to keep the sun damage away. With skin cancer running in my family, I try to stay ahead of the matter as much as I can. A few years back I did a series of IPL laser treatments that really helped reverse some of the sun damage I did in my teens & early 20's by laying out on the beach entirely too much. Contoura's also helped me with embarrassing things like hormonal adult acne. I never thought I'd have to go through a mild phase of my teenage years all over again in my thirties but, there I was a year ago, trying everything under the sun on my own to get rid of it and nothing was working. I booked an appointment at Contoura to express my concern and the remedy was way easier than I expected. Tretinoin. That cleared everything up real quick plus helps with fine lines &/or wrinkles. A two for one? I'm in! (If there are any women out there reading this wondering why you are breaking out when choosing to discontinue birth control, try tretinoin. This should help the issue in less than a week's time) Ok now that I've way overshared in this review, I need to give a huge thankful shout out to Becky! Over the past couple of years, I've booked appointments with Becky at Contoura and her advice and company while visiting Contoura is always a real pleasure. I genuinely look forward to seeing her and catching up with what's going on in her life. I've raved about Brookes in my 5 star google review a few years back and I definitely stand by that statement. Brookes is wonderful to book appointments with and a pleasure to see, always. Now it's time I rave about Becky here on Yelp, and Destin! Both women will tell you the best advice for keeping a youthful glow that's catered to your skin, and help you achieve that goal. I honestly can't rave about all of the staff enough. I would not keep coming back year after year if I didn't swear by the results myself.
