I personally love their gift wrapping station and balloon bar, which can add some fun flair to any occasion. If you've never gotten a giant billy balloon with metallic tassels, you're missing out! They have a beautiful array of colors to choose from, and you can even customize you balloons with personalized calligraphy. PGP just recently launched "The Pantry" which is a perfectly curated corner of their shop that is filled with grab & go provisions, party supplies, sweet treats by Morgan Hunter Desserts, fresh flowers, and more. You can swing by and grab these items at any time (picnic on Lake Ivanhoe, anyone??) or you can pre-order everything you need for your next gathering. They also offer custom design services for invitations, stationery, and all your paper needs! And if you haven't seen The Party Room event space in the back of their shop, well then you're welcome... I just found your next party location. You can rent out this adorable space by the hour, and it's perfect for a bridal shower, dinner party, or even a private workshop. Megan & Cedar are the talented duo (and twin sisters) behind Paper Goat Post. They are going to be celebrating their 6th PGP birthday this year and have become a community staple in Ivanhoe Row. Let's continue to support this small local biz!

Today I decided to take a quick visit to Paper Goat Post! I've been enjoying stationary lately and…read morewanted to see what this shop was all about. They had a nice selection of gifts, cards, and party supplies here. Cards are about in the ~$6 range, which compared to some of the cheesy cards you can get at target for the same price isn't too bad. Most of the selection is catered towards gifts, cards, and party supplies but they do have some stationary stuff too. Not sure I'd drive out of my way to come here again, but if I find myself in the Lake Baldwin area I'd definitely swing by to see what's new! If you're a fan of cute cards, or are looking for some easy gifts, definitely give this shop a go!

Their setup is…read moresimilar to another bigger name card design company located in Winter Park...their small storefront houses their merchandise that is available for purchase to the public. From the front I could see that heading towards the back was their space where they work their printing magic. They didn't have anyone really working up in the front area. A guy greeted me and just mentioned that he would check on me occasionally (they seemed to be occupied in the back). I perused the wall of greeting cards ($4.25/piece) , cool journals and notebooks that were on hand. What really catches your eye about their items are the catchy, clever phrases and nice graphics with great pops of color. I don't think their cards are for everyone(Hallmark they are not) but they do definitely get your attention. I ended up stocking up on a nice amount of cards to have on hand for those last minute birthdays that always escape you. I do wish they offered some sort of deal for multiple card purchases as I am sure it would encourage me to buy more. I did end up leaving with 6 great cards either way. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a unique greeting card or some fun writing journals /notebooks you won't find anywhere else give this place a whirl.

I bought my very first Il Papiro diary ("agenda" as they call it) in Siena, Italy, in 1985, then…read morewas overjoyed when I discovered another Il Papiro (though called Oggetti) in San Francisco on another vacation the following year. Then, by a great stroke of luck, one opened in Los Angeles (where I live) the year after that. For the following decade plus, I would religiously buy their absolutely gorgeous, unique, one-of-a-kind florentine marbled paper creations. Their beauty and singularity inspired me to fill up their pages and write every day. When the Oggetti in LA closed and I could no longer locate any of these fabulous diaries, I stopped writing regularly, for several decades. But I never stopped searching and hoping. It wasn't just the diaries I had purchased there, I also purchased many other objects of beauty in the marbled paper that they sold in their magical shops. But the diaries were so important to me, they chronicled the story of my life, every year a different color scheme. Those gorgeous colors would burst off the front and back covers, and the spine, and were mesmerizingly kaleidoscopic. I absolutely treasured them and they occupied a special shelf on my bookcase. Once Google made its debut, I periodically would look to see if there was an Il Papiro or Oggetti still in existence, but I never had any luck. Until last year. There to my wondering eyes appeared an Il Papiro in NY and Palm Beach!!! I got right on it and requested to be notified as soon as the agendas for the new year came in. The very kind lady I spoke with did just that, and, with great joy and anticipation, I ordered my very first Il Papiro agenda since 1999! Because the dyes are so individual, not every book looks as it appears on the website, so when I received my agenda, although it was beautiful, it wasn't as perfect for my own personal taste. When I called to ask whether I could exchange it, it was no problem. However, like an idiot, I didn't wrap it carefully enough, and it got damaged on the way back. Despite my negligence, they still provided exemplary, above-and-beyond customer service and took the return and sent me my stunning new agenda which I have been so very happy writing in every night, filling it up with all things great and small, wise and wonderful...and some not...I just finished my latest entry, and although it is very late, I thought, "I have to let the world know how very, very much I am absolutely loving being reunited with the most gorgeous diaries in the world after a too-long absence. Especially after how kind they were to me!" Il Papiro's products are always one-of-a-kind. Although I am particularly besotted with the agendas, I would gladly fill my home with many other of their beautiful objects...if I could afford them! Maybe one day...a girl can dream. Thank you Il Papiro for bringing a smile to my face every single day. I can't wait to fill up many more agendas, hopefully with many more magical moments.
