My 89-year-old father purchased a new unit from this company and also bought their "maintenance upkeep" plan at a monthly cost. The unit has been nothing but problematic and every time they come out, they tell him whatever part needs repair is under warranty, however they never leave without charging an outrageous labor fee for the repair! One. I do not like that this company may be conducting negligent business practices against an older population. Two. If new equipment needs constant repairs that is a sign of a larger problem. I am reaching out to the manufacturer of the product today to request an install inspection followed by a call to the Florida AG office to ask them to look into this company. RUN...no Sprint!!! I am extremely disappointed with the service my parents received from Florida Home and Air (FHA). In July 2024, FHA installed a YORK AC system for my father--a dedicated 30-year veteran--after he inquired about our positive experience with a previous install 19 years ago. Sadly, I now regret that recommendation. By December(6mo later), the blower motor failed. Despite the system being under warranty, my father was charged $1,500 because FHA didn't have a certified YORK technician to perform the repair. To make matters worse, the blower part took 3 to 4 weeks to arrive. My parents are 79 and 84 years old--living without heat during that time was unacceptable and potentially dangerous. Fast forward to July 17, 2025--I received a quote from FHA for $28,000 for a RHEEM system. It was dropped to $18,000 with the promise of a $2,000 tax credit, which I later found out was completely false after doing my own research. The "top-of-the-line" RHEEM they offered was mediocre at best and didn't qualify for any tax credit. FHA didn't even know what specks were needed for the credit. (I realized that when I met w the other AC companies.) Even worse, FHA requires you to sign a waiver stating that if they damage your floors, drywall, or carpet, the homeowner is responsible for the repairs. That alone should be a major red flag for anyone considering their services. Needless to say, I cancelled my contract and walked away. I've since received honest, professional quotes from both Thigpen and A&W, and their service and transparency were night and day compared to FHA. Bottom line: RUN! Don't trust them. SHADY COMPANY If you are in need of a new AC system or just a repair, I strongly suggest that you steer clear of FLORIDA HOME AC. They are shady and do not stand behind what the customer is being told. I had my system installed in September of last year. The sales rep made it sound like he was giving me a reduced price (which it still ended up being over 14k). I agreed to the price thinking that I would get the state tax credit for installing an high energy efficient system. After the installation JEA told me to contact the company that installed the unit to find out about the credit. Long and short of it was that the sales rep used my tax credit to reduce the price of the system without my knowledge. Not such a great deal anymore. Most recently I had them come and do the first tune up to make sure all was well. My roof had been replaced and I was concerned about what may had fallen inside the condenser. The technician said there were some nails and leaves in the bottom burn the nails were not touching anything. He never said anything about what it would take if he cleaned the inside out. The very next day a young man with the lawn service blew leaves and such out of my back yard. In doing so he blew a ton of dirt and leaves directly into the condenser. I was concerned and called Florida Hone AC, explained what happened and told them it needed to be cleaned out. I was told that it was an easy fix and there would be no additional charge for the service. When the technician arrived, he looked inside the unit and told me that he could not clean the unit out for free as he would not get paid. He advised me that it would cost $200 to clean the unit out. We bantered back and forth for a few minutes and he said he would find out what he could do. He sat in his van for some time and when I walked out into my garage, he backed out of my driveway and left without saying a word. This outfit is nothing but bait and switch. I know it is not their fault that the lawn guy made the mess, but the point is I was told one thing by the company and another by the technician. Had I been told it would cost me $200 to do the cleaning I would not have scheduled the service call. I've called five times, left multiple messages for supervisors, and even tried canceling online -- there's no way to do it. Despite my immediate attempt to cancel, they still charged my credit card. Predatory and obvious scam company. Used Lowe's to have my HVAC tuned and got cancelled on three times before a tech came out. The guy says the refrigerant is low and quotes me above 500/lb. Check anywhere in the states and you won't find pricing above $150/lb. Then tries to say i need a chemical treatment for the line, I ask him to check with a shop vac first and low and behold the line is completely clear and doesn't need the $175 chemical tab which costs $20 bucks as a store. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. Equipment is OK. Customer service is a complete failure. Sales team is 'misleading' to the customer, promising services that are not honored, honesty is not their way. Was told a service period was included in the sale and installation of a $11,000 dollar unit. Installation was in August; we had freezing temps, and we called for an inspection of the new, expensive equipment, as notifications were being sent through our newly installed 'smart thermostat' only to be told the salesman mislead us and there were no services included in the $11,000 price tag. Bait and Switch. They had a technician arrive to do the inspection a check to make sure winter icing had not done and damage to the new equipment. He introduced himself and proceeded to ask me to sign an invoice and a $159 charge to check it all out. Got his supervisor on the phone and she said the salesman wasn't honest and there was no warranty, two-year service plan (the lie told to close the sale) or any kind of maintenance on a new system. Second phone encounter had the same results. A promise made, that there was indeed a service plan with the new system. Broke that promise and customer ghosted. They called just to BS us some more. Florida Home installed a new system in December 2024. The city inspector failed the permit because the circuit breaker was the incorrect one for the system. I was told in Dec they would be out to fix it. It is now May and I have had several appoints where no one showed up and the one time they did they did not have the correct breaker on the truck. The system froze up in Jan with the extreme cold and hasn't been right since. Again it May and I've had a series of no show appts. Additional Florida Home charged me for a new pad even though they used the existing one. I wish I had gone somewhere for my new AC system. I've paid alot of money for the system and now I am going to have pay an electrician and another company to service the unit. Also I am going to have to contact the city Inspector myself and schedule another inspection. read more

We were not aware of the scam until the "professional" showed up and quoted $2234 for the project, then offered us a discount of $234. A year and a half later, the AOSmith hot water heater is rusting due to dripping water and we learned from AOSmith the wrong materials were used for install. It's not installed correctly. They do not have good people and do not care about their customers. I want to write this review to share the terrible situation we are having now. My AC broke down on Monday (Aug 5) perhaps due to power surge from the storm. I have this package unit installed by Florida Home AC a couple years ago. So, I called them and requested a repair service. On Tuesday, a technician came around 3:30pm, claimed that it must be the thermostat. After proving himself wrong, he left without further diagnosis. On Wednesday, a different technician came and discovered that the compressor is bad. The total cost is roughly 3.2K including a surge protector. My wife paid half of the cost. On Thursday, the technician try to install the wrong compressor, luckily my wife stopped him and he went back to pick up the right compressor and installed it. But he said, I need a new valve to finish the repair. Anyway they insisted me to pay the remaining balance on that evening. I paid. On Friday, I have a text message saying that the technician is on the way. After waiting for the whole day, the technician did not show up. I called the office 4 times, they finally told me they ordered the wrong part. I have to wait until Monday. If they called to let us know, my wife and I could be going to a bookstore to cool off. Instead my wife and I are waiting in the steamy hot house. The first technician is not good, and the office ordered the wrong compressor and then ordered wrong parts. The office showed no courtesy to call. The temperature has been in high 90s in these days. My wife and I retired. Luckily, we are still healthy, people can die under such heat. It is my hope they will show up on Monday and finish the repair. Update: On Monday, I got a text message that I have been scheduled for 12-4PM. No one showed up, no one called. I called the office, no one is able to give me an answer. I called the quality manager, no one picked up the phone. This starts Memorial Day weekend 2022 when our HVAC totally failed. We bought an entirely new system from Florida Home AC for more than $10,000. Then began the phone calls for system maintenance and buy this scrubber and this product when they come for "maintenance". Our HVAC was serviced 2X a year, even though I got very irritated by the constant calls saying we needed to have our unit serviced literally weeks after they had just been here. But what happened this week is totally unacceptable. I called for getting service because the unit seemed off. A tech came and asked if I wanted the "tune-up" for $69, which I accepted because I needed it looked after. He said everything looked good. I asked if the freon level was okay since it wasn't cooling to the temp set on the gauge. He said he didn't take the pressure since that would bleed off some of the freon. He tried to sell me some filters but I said I had some on the way. Anyway, 3 days later the temp is still not coming down to the commanded temp. I called another company that re-did all our ducting. In 15 minutes he found the issue, the motor was failing. I called Florida Home AC for an explanation. They said that our service on Tuesday was a "tune up" and not anything other than filter change and pressure check. This wasn't even done at that service and I told the service line that it hadn't been done. Florida Home AC wasn't apologetic for charging me for services not completed and told me their technicians that come for a tune up don't troubleshoot. She asked if I wanted someone to come out to troubleshoot, but I don't ever want to deal with this company again. Hired through Home Depot. Sales rep (Ricky) gave us a fair price to replace and upgrade our 4ton heat pump and furnace. Techs (ZaZa and Gilbert) came out same day and replaced our system. They arrived on time and prepared with everything needed to complete the job. Everything installed within 6 hours. We are very impressed with the entire team (scheduling, sales, technicians) and the work that was done. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable. They hauled our old rusty system away and left the area spotless. They even repaired the duct at the ceiling that had been sagging. The new system works great, my wife's hot flashes thank you. I received a quote from them that included the water heater and told I had to purchase it from them. The amount was $1800. They gave me another quote for an upgraded model as well that costs about $800 for $2750. Their predatory business practices are appalling. On June 16,2024 Redi Zisi Florida Home Air Conditioning tech (invoice# 17565586) came out to assess why my newly installed {01/2024) HVAC system was not cooling the house. He found the system working properly but that the air flow from the fans were not and said I needed all my ducts replaced. He talked to his manager who stated he could give me a "deal" at $450 per vent and not to worry about price because Florida Home had programs to help. He left assuring me I would get a copy of report and someone would come out to talk about duct work and the company's financial programs. Let me say Mr. Zisi like all of Florida Home techs that I have worked with was professional, courteous, and responsive. My beef, my despair is a result of Florida Home sales and policies. My system needs were assessed in January. When system assessed and new system installed in January why did we not know about airflow problem? Had they diagnose airflow, duct work issues in January it could have been dealt with in January. This is a BIG DEAL!!! Because HVAC professionals in Florida do not do duct work in summer due to our heat. So despite new system I am living in a 2200 sq ft home in the midst of a heatwave with no or minimal air. I have yet to receive a call about duct work from Florida Home. I believe it is because no duct work is done in summer. I am getting in line with other disappointed Florida Home AC customers. 5 days ago I called to request a service call on my malfunctioning residential system they installed 3 years ago. Tech opened panel to garage unit, eyeballs it, and diagnosed it as bad blower fan motor and module. I do not recall seeing him use voltmeter or any other meter to come this diagnosis. He went to his van and told me he was ordering the parts and when I said "so maybe this can be replaced tomorrow?" His response was "well good luck on that!" How true he was. For days I have heard no response on status of my parts ordered or when repair might be scheduled for completion. Each of the last 5 days I have made the walk to them and the response has been the same "I will move your concern on to our parts department and they will contact you " No such contacts have been made. They have been pretty speedy on one item......debiting my check account on the very first day for $485. And I will say they were next day on installing my $11,000 system 3 years ago. I would guess that $11,000 got to their account pretty quickly as well. read more

Absolutely terrible. DO NOT USE! We had a very expensive high efficiency heat pump installed. In 3 years it has failed 3 times. The first time they blamed it on the lack of a surge suppressor on the unit. We had one put on. The second time it failed they blamed it on the fact that there was only a surge suppressor on the compressor and not the air handler! WE HAD PAID THEM TO PUT ONE ON BOTH! The third time they discovered that the the unit was failing was because they hadn't attached the power supply to the unit properly so every time there was a power spike it would fry a circuit board INSIDE the unit, past the circut breakers. They didn't reimburse us for the previous $1600 worth of repairs, but did cover the cost of repairs for that one failure. Now check out the "icing on the cake"-- we're being dropped by Farmer's Insurance as they're pulling out of our zip code, so a new insurance inspector came by to check out everything. He found that they had gone up 1 size on the a/c but hadn't upgraded the gauge of the aluminum wiring to code, creating a FIRE HAZARD from the overheating of the aluminum. In addition, they didn't join the aluminum wire to the new copper wire properly. Aluminum and copper expand and contract at different amounts in the heat, so there was a junction created between the two wires. This junction was BARE!! AND AGAINST THE WOOD IN MY ATTIC! Not even twisted together-- just partially covered by a non-code plastic cap. This was an EXTREME fire hazard as every time the unit kicks on there is the potential for a spark. When I informed them of this finding, they sent someone out who looked at it and said he couldn't fix it. They now refuse to return my calls. It's going to cost $800 to fix this (the problem has been confirmed by both the insurance adjuster and my own master electrician). I am being forced to take them to court for the cost of all of the repairs and for creating a hazard. I'm also unable to get insurance from a new company until the repairs are completed. As if this all isn't enough, they spam call you up to 3 times a day for services. I recorded over 50 spam calls in a month from them. They keep promising to remove me, but it doesn't seem to happen. read more
