We had so much in common which made me feel like this was the place to be. The actual facility could use a facelift, but because of the people we met, we are going forward with joining. I wish there was an outdoor track and a better room for the kids to play in. I will come back to update about pricing and quality once we've been there for a bit.

I…read morecome down to Bradenton to perform every year and have had a YMCA Nationwide membership for about a decade. have never had an issue with using my membership at other YMCAs, but this time the Y let me know that I could come in for free the first time, but after that I would be charged 6.00 per visit. The front desk person was very helpful when I inquired further and she explained that since most of their clients are visitors, their equipment was getting used but they didn't receive any of the membership due money from visitors and it was really affecting them. While I appreciate this, it sounds like there needs to be more of an internal discussion within the YMCA nationwide program. We discussed some of the possible options and the easiest, though still inconvenient one, was to suspend my hometown account and then start up an account at the Bradenton Branch. However, there didn't seem to be a way to bypass the enrollment fee and so I would have to pay that and then ultimately close the membership down after my three month contract in Bradenton ends in January. It was one too many hurdles to hop over to join a gym I have already joined. While I respect that this YMCA needs to make changes so that their facility can continue to prosper, I am disappointed that a program the YMCA touts as "Nationwide" isn't really. The ability to go to YMCAs all over was one of the major reasons why my family opted to join.

It would be nice for faster carts and larger/wider track to pass slow ahh children who can't drive. A friend got whiplash after a kid who couldn't drive crashed into her. 3rd- when we went to redeem our points from our game cards in the gift shop after the employee scanned the game card multiple times he admitted that he lost the points and that he accidentally transferred them to someone else's card and so I could not receive any prices for the many 91 points that I won. Which was disappointing considering the price I paid and the employee did not seem that bothered about it 4th- after ordering a pizza it did not come out for 20 minutes and the bartender said that the waitress forgot to put in the order, poor waitress service but the food was good. 5th- after going to the go carts for the second time the employees attitudes did not improve and the safety googles did not fit all the faces. And we were screamed at for having boxed up food. The employees seem passionate about their job but also bored with the time. 6th- the Ambiance was nice but it would be more enjoyable to have a separate dining area away from the screaming loud children along with the loud noises and bright lights that come from the game area. I ended up buying one racquet and returned to NYC. After playing with it I had a problem and they were so gracious in allowing me to return the racquet to see if they could correct the problem, which they did and shipped it back to me at no charge. With the struggles small businesses are facing due to COVID it's so important to support businesses that look out for their customers. No pleasantries, no offer of coffee, no removal of dishes and about a half hour wait for payments to be processed and charge errors to be corrected. She needs to shadow another seasoned employee for a while. Because I know the business, I do allow for every kind of calamity and am not bothered, but like to give advice. My group, on the other hand, was very confused and disappointed. The food was good. The service needs cleaning up. The set up needs a redo for efficiency. On more occasions than I can count, he has quietly taken aside parents who could not afford private swim lessons for their children and told them there was no charge. It is priceless to see the little kids yelling "Hi Ken!" and reaching up for a hug. I was not there, so I cannot attest to your allegation of "sexual harassment." I find your interpretation of the term, questionable. The Ken I know is a gentleman and a gentle man whose integrity is a tribute to both the Aquatics department and the YMCA as a whole. AJD

If it's low tide you can head down to the oyster bed and pick some mud crabs and mangrove crabs for bait. 2. Waterfront playground: Super clean and padded playground area. Plenty of benches to watch the sunset. I believe some adults also try to use a section for exercise. Peaceful ambience to enjoy the outdoors and then head in to the bait shop for some ice cream for the kiddos.
