My wife went in for a hip replacement over two years ago and something life altering happened during surgery. She now spends 4-6 hours a day in either a foot brace, electrical muscle stimulation, pool or physical therapy centers for "foot drop". She was left with the inability to raise her foot naturally when she walks and has lost 50% of her calf muscle due to atrophy. She requires narcotics just to sleep, can not stand up for more than several minutes. This mishap has had a devastating affect on her life. Not only did this doctor in the photo (on left) make my 84 year old grandma come to an appt he missed 5 times in a row he then requested my sister her care giver and I couldn't be in the room with them while we talk about her care. They billed my insurance $500 for a telehealth appointment. We were supposed to go over the results of a test which they never sent me. The only reason I called in was to explain that I was never sent the test to complete and to not bill me. Instead they billed my insurance $500 and say I owe the $50 copay. . There was virtually no waiting time both times I went, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I had been looking for a team of doctors under 1 roof and this is just the place. Great experience with Dr Andrea Tordini, electrophysiologist with Florida Medical Clinic and her staff. I recommend her to anyone for treatment of symtomatic atrial fibrillation needing ablation. From the 1st phone call to get info, to making appointment, outpatient visit, procedure at the hospital, followup appointment, overall had really good experience. Really not sure what the deal is with all the other bad reviews on Yelp regarding FMC, I personally had a much different and better experience. My mom had symtomatic atrial fibrillation, diagnosed while she was inpatient at TGH, the cardiology group (USF) that treated her in the hospital gave me a very difficult time scheduling her an outpatient appointment. After getting some recommends, I called up Florida Medical Clinic to schedule with Dr Tordini. The best thing about FMC is that the 1 person picking up the phone can provide you all the info you need, like do they take your insurance, and will tell you when the doctor's next appointment will be and which location is available (since she works a several different locations depending on the day of the week), and which hospital she has privileges at. They use texts to send you an appointment reminder the day before. At the appointment, the doctor was able to review my mom's records from TGH, she recommended a procedure called ablation for cure of the atrial fibrillation, she explained it and went over how it works, the risks, the benefits. We agreed to do it asap. We received a call from her scheduler and got it setup at TGH the following week. Procedure got done successfully and without complication. My mom is now over 3 months out from the procedure and still doing great. Overall very happy with the outcome which is the most important thing. Dr. Sarquis is extremely inconsistent. Unfortunately, there's been at least 3 occasions when I've had issues refilling prescription and would like to see me in person although the information of my health issues have been documented in my chart. She doesn't return phone calls and also failed to alert me about lab results in the past. Healthcare is too expensive to have an inconsistent doctor that only responds when you have an office visit especially when you've already been diagnosed. Not to mention the office staff incompetencies. I have called at least 5x this week and still haven't heard from Dr. Sarquis or the nurse. As a patient, healthcare is a full circle. Dr. Sarquis is an alright doctor, but if I have to go through rude, nosy, and incompetent office staff and the inconsistent and delayed follow-through with the doctor, it makes me question if this is the best for my care. I will be calling the administrative office of Florida Clinic to file my second formal complaint in 12 months. Healthcare is a big deal and I would like for my healthcare to be taken seriously. read more

My physician is GREAT. He is very attentive and extremely professional. The staff, however, are like children. They have to be called and reminded to do simple things like following through with calling a prescription into the pharmacy - something like that is surely on their normal list of duties, yet I've had to call to remind them nearly every time. I've actually gone from having my insurance pay for one of my medications to self-pay... it is more expensive, but I am sick and tired of this staff and my insurance company playing point-the-finger with each other, and me on the sidelines with no medication. This is ONLY for the cardiology department. We had an appointment with Sameer Nagamia for my mother who is 77 years old. She has 2 broken shoulders and can't walk but needed a stress test before surgery. We had to go for a consult. From the moment we walked in till the moment we left it was HORRIBLE! While I was in line to check in (for 15 minutes) nobody - NOBODY - acknowledged that I was there. Not even eye contact. Instead they complained about a doctor not calling them regarding appointments and complained about a patient (who was in the waiting room and could hear) about how he spoke English perfectly fine and today he didn't understand anything! Oh - and how one girl couldn't wait to get out for lunch and the other kept going in her book bag! Finally I sit and wait... and wait... and wait. Constantly watching people go ahead of us. After an HOUR of this I finally asked what was going on and the lady who was hell bent on going to lunch didn't even turn our paperwork in. Finally we get back to a room where my mom had to do an EKG. We had no idea we were going to do that - she can't move her shoulders. Then we are in a room where a nurse is on a screen (Selena). We were not told we could remove our masks and speak with her. Then she comes into the office. We have questions and she refuses to answer them! One was just asking if the tendons on the pacemaker would hold up for shoulder surgery. That's a typical question that a cardiologist should be able to answer!!! I asked 3 questions and she said it wasn't her department. One question was just wanting to know if she can switch from extra strength Tylenol to Tylenol PM or if that's bad for the heart. She said that was up to my mom's primary. Finally I got upset and just asked if it was bad for her heart and Selena finally replied she didn't care if she took it and didn't see anything wrong with it. I got up to get my mom out of there. Of course my mom is talking (making conversations) and Selena asked very rudely THREE TIMES... "do you have any more questions". My mom would say something and she just kept saying that. After all this we needed a CTA Coronary scan for another place. Selena didn't even turn in the paperwork! We waited over an hour and she went to lunch. She didn't turn in this form till almost 5:00!!! And this office knew we had surgery scheduled already. This was the absolute worst place. They were ALL rude, disrespectful and paid no attention the the patients and their needs! HOWEVER - I walked down the hall to radiology and they were a DREAM!!! Jennifer was amazing and took care of everything the others should have done. UPDATE - 9/10 THANK YOU EDDIE LOUDERBACK!! You have restored my faith in Florida Medical Clinic. It's too bad, really. Dr. Sameer Nagamia seemed to me to be a good, caring cardiologist, but his front staff ruined everything for me. They are the most rude and unprofessional medical staff I have ever encountered at Florida Medical Clinic. I never get treated like this on Dr. Zacarri's side of the clinic. Dr. Nagamia's staff will cancel appointments without notice and lie about having left you a voicemail message. I had an appointment that was requested by the Dr. himself based on symptoms I was having. He ordered blood work and everything prior to the appointment and when I showed up (still having symptoms), I was told that my appointment was canceled. I took a day of leave to make the appointment. I will finding a new cardiologist and I will be sending an invoice to Florida Medical Clinic for the time I wasted. read more

I had an appointment with FL Medical Clinch which was 3 towns from your home. When I arrived, they took my temperature as they do with all appointments. They said my temperature was 102 degrees and I would have to leave! Well, if I had that temperature I would be feeling "hot" wouldn't I. We left and drove to another town close to where we live and asked a doctors' office employee to take my temperature. She obliged and read the 98.6 temperature reading to me. Don't go here unless you have all day to sit and wait to see the doctor. Every time my husband has an appoint it's usually 2 hours past the appointment time until we're seen. There was one time it was only an hour. I spoke with Cecelia when I mad my first appointment with Dr. Tordini. I explained where I had been a patient in the past and that I had a problem handling one of the prescribed medications. She assured me she could get my medical records for Dr. Tordinis review. Walking in to the appointment, Dr. Tordini reviewed my (lack of) records and admitted she did not have my history so she ordered an EKG (something that would have been in my history) and suggested an expensive invasive procedure. We agreed I should come back after the EKG in 2 weeks to review (when she had my history). When I came to my next appointment she still did not have my history. We made another appointment. I came back. Still no history. We made another appointment. Still no history. This time as I left, I offered to drive to the past doctors to retrieve my history for her. She promised that after reviewing my previous medications that she could offer me a prescription over the phone. I dropped off the records the following week. After about a month and a half I followed up with her office. I was promised on a Thursday that someone would get back to me the next day. I called on Tuesday to say I would no longer be a patient. I feel that my condition was not treated at all, over the course of 4 in person visits. I am not sure why I had to pay anything. No history reviewed. No solutions offered. There was no service rendered. Just a monumental waste of my time. And then there was the reception desk. I was asked the day before my 1:30pm appointment to come in at 1 pm. No problem. I arrived at 12:45. At 12:50, pizza was delivered to the receptionists. They ALL left the desk until 1:25. When one receptionist finally came back I asked if I misunderstood my appointment time and was told the nurse was finishing with a patient. Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Sean Lannon was excellent, as was everyone I encountered at FMC Orthopaedics. I especially appreciate that Dr. Lannon was able to see me within the narrow window of time I had to work with between when I realized that I may have broken my toe and when I had to leave the next day on a business trip that I couldn't postpone without major ramifications. Despite that situation, Dr. Lannon was very nice, thorough, and showed no signs of displeasure with having to squeeze someone into his schedule at the last minute (as would be the case with many physicians). All of the other staff were also excellent and, when I arrived a few minutes early for my appointment, the wait was still so short that I didn't even finish the one check-in form that was left after doing 99% of the registration online (the info for that last form was still taken down by one of the assistants). By the way, the online registration is another huge, time-saving benefit to how efficiently this practice is run. read more
