    Breakfast fried rice
    Evelyn M.

Florida Room is the exact vibe you want for a breakfast/brunch spot. It feels like a cozy diner, but elevated by the cohesive decor. The staff is so friendly and helpful; however, the food did take forever to come out. It looked like that happened only to our table, so it might not be the rule, but it did make the experience slightly less good. That said, the food when it did come out was amazing! It was so tasty. The breakfast fried rice was incredible. It tasted fantastic I was so excited.

I left my visit with expectations exceeded. The location is great centrally located in downtown. The staff was super friendly. I order the biscuits and gravy that comes with fried chicken tenders on top. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was fried perfectly, juicy, and well seasoned. The biscuit were soft and buttery. The gravy was seasoned great although I wish it had more sausage but overall delicious. The home fries were nice and crispy. This is such a great location to come grab breakfast

Perfecto vibe for this lovely Friday morning. Super cute diner with a little modern take. Food was good but wish there were more budget friendly options, also I would've loved a pancake but there weren't any. Service was great our server let me swap out my sides for a biscuit which was litty. Perfect brekky option come give it a try!!!

this place is pretty good! our service was quick and it was super fun to sit outside. i got the mushroom and spinach omelette with side salad and sourdough bread. which was DELICIOUS! the food here is great. however, the only thing was that there were lots of bugs outside, so it made me freak out a bit haha. but went inside and then it was all better!

The ambiance of the restaurant was amazing! Our server was incredibly nice. The food was good, but unfortunately it did not sit right with me, and I was sick for the rest of the day. I would give it a second chance, but I didn't have the best first experience

    Cheesy grits tots

The food was fresh and delicious, and the menu items were unique and varied. I had the smoked turkey sandwich, which came with kettle chips. We also ordered these fried cheesy grits, and they were so good!

I loved everything about this place. The food! The decor! The service! Amazing choices for breakfast and lunch. Cheese grits were heavenly. So many great looking baked treats in the display case I wish I had picked up. Only bad thing is that its 2 1/2 hours away from where I live.

This place was NOT it. Beautiful decor wasn't enough to save the experience thanks to the poor service. Food was fine. We got served cold chewy pastries, food was slow to come out, refill for a water was non-existent. The person that sat us had the warmth and welcome of my chewy pastry. But hey decor is definitely on point and food was fine. Not rushing to come back.

Amazing food and experience! The Florida Room is truly a hidden gym. I can't tell you how many times I've driven past this place and thought "hm, I wonder what that is." After 3 years of living in GNV I finally checked it out and I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere is great with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. On top of that, the food is incredible. Highly recommend the omelette. Will be coming back!

Elevated casual dining experience with prices that reflected that. Interior was aesthetically pleasing and cute for dressing up and taking photos. Background music was a little louder than my group and I preferred and felt overly stimulating at times. Food was delicious, and the menu had a lot of options for those who favor savory brunch foods such as myself. I saw a variety of pastries like scones and brownies displayed at the counter but didn't get a chance to try them out--looked enticing, though! Loco moco was good but could've come with more gravy and flavor. The fried grits tots were a yummy appetizer but reminded me more of mac and cheese bites in texture and consistency and less like a tot and I was hoping for a better balance if not more tot-focused. Good to try once but don't feel a need to order again. I'd introduce this spot to family and friends visiting town or if I had an occasion to celebrate and wanted to do so with/at brunch.

The ambiance in here is very cute! Definitely a great brunch vibe and cute decorations. The food, however, was subpar and very overpriced. It was tasty, but could have been much better especially for how expensive everything is. The service was good and our waitress was pretty helpful, though the food did take a long time to come out.

    Rachel K.

I got the Shakshuka Rancheros. It was pretty good -- eggs were perfect and everything was delicious! The wait time was about 35 minutes when we got there, but we just grabbed coffee elsewhere and came back! The service wasn't quite as welcoming as we expected, but they were busy.

Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. It actually IS crazy, but that's a review for another app entirely. Have you ever been to a place where you can just tell the people there all care about their jobs? A place that operates smoothly without a bunch of flash? That's how I felt about 43rd Street. Very clean and uncluttered, with a definite retro feel. Kinda like stepping back in time a decade or three, but in a nostalgic way. The place was fairly busy but quiet, which I appreciated after 30+ hours of road noise and loud music. We were greeted as soon as we entered and shown to a table with no wait. The hostess (I didn't catch her name) took our drink orders as we were seated--OJ for her and coffee for me--and promptly bustled away to take care of us. Our server, Crystal, was a delight. Efficient, friendly, attentive, all the things one needs to be an all-star server. Our drinks came out quickly, freshly squeezed OJ and fresh coffee, both lovely. I ordered the Firecracker omelette and my partner got French toast with strawberries. We shared a large side of cheesy grits, which I was super excited for. Love me some grits! Comforting, plentiful, and well prepared. Also delicious! I enjoyed every part of my visit to 43rd Street and will definitely return next time I'm in the neighborhood. As an art major, I absolutely appreciated all the little details and decor. The entire place had such a cozy, welcoming vibe. We went on Mother's Day for a late brunch, so naturally every restaurant in town was packed. We did wait a little while to be seated, but once we sat down, Judy, our waitress, was very upfront and let us know the food would likely take about 30 minutes. Honestly, we didn't mind at all because she immediately got us drinks and caffeine, which was much needed while battling a couple-day migraine. I ordered The Clock Two-Egg Breakfast, and wow, it was absolutely delicious. This was honestly some of the best breakfast food I've had since living in the state of Florida. The chunky hash browns were cooked perfectly. Bacon, perfectly cooked, a well balance of soft and crunchy. Judy was also one of the nicest waitresses we've met during all of our travels. She constantly checked on us and made sure we never went without anything during our visit. We were chatting with her about feeding pets, and she even drew a little dog on our doggy box, which was such a sweet personal touch. This place truly screams family atmosphere, and I love supporting places like this because the little family-owned spots deserve support too. We will absolutely be back, and I already know our teenager is going to love this place. Thank you again to Judy and the entire staff for giving us such a fantastic Mother's Day away from our family. The menu is basically unchanged, which is fine. I went for the fish and chips special, and honestly... it was just okay. Nothing wrong with it exactly, but for what they're charging, I didn't feel like I was getting good value. I can think of a few other places in town that'll do a better fish and chips for less money, and that's tough to ignore. Located in midtown, this appears to a fast casual place that caters towards college students. They serve "Greek" street food, salads, quesadillas, burgers, and more. The food is relatively inexpensive. Service is fine, actually the people working there are friendly. Food is made to order and comes out quickly. There is some seating available inside (it's limited) but there are plenty of tables in the hall. I ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki which included grilled chicken with tomato, onion, fries inside a pita, topped with ketchup and mustard. This was a very large portion. The pita was good, but pretty much fell apart the second I picked it up. While I liked the chicken, it was over seasoned and I didn't care for the "sauced" quality of it. I'm not sure if they marinated it or tossed it in some sauce, but it was too much. The fries were decent, but not super crispy. I felt that they were not necessarily and a little over-the-top. The tomato was fresh and but the red onion slices were very thick. The mustard and ketchup didn't work with the seasonings on the chicken. The dish was just all over the place and I couldn't even finish half of it before I started feeling sick. I ordered a side of onion rings as well. This was a large order and the size was great. But these onion rings were over-battered and were fresh, but not crispy at all. I bit into one and ended up pulling out the whole onion rings. Not good. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience. The food was so heavy and overly salted I couldn't even eat half of it. I ended up giving it to a homeless person on the way out. The food left my stomach in shambles the rest of the day. Service is fine. But the food is not desirable. It is safe to say I will not be returning, which is unfortunate.
