We absolutely love them and trust them completely for our annual skin checks. The medical care itself has always been top-notch. That said, the front office and overall customer service are a completely different story--and it's becoming a serious problem. Trying to get someone on the phone is beyond frustrating. Calls go unanswered, messages don't get returned in a timely manner (if at all), and billing questions are incredibly difficult to resolve. The lack of communication and responsiveness is honestly shocking for an otherwise reputable practice. It's disappointing because the quality of the doctors deserves better support. But at some point, great medical care alone isn't enough when the administrative side is this difficult to deal with. If this doesn't get addressed, I can see patients--including us--starting to look elsewhere. We want to stay, but the experience outside the exam room needs major improvement. Fix the phones. Fix the customer service. Your patients deserve that

The stitch that she left in there caused pain and swelling for two months. When I went back to have it checked, another women tried to get it out, she did not. The person that left the stitch in there probably doesn't see that well. They have two doctors there and neither one of them checks the end result. I called the other day and said I need to have this checked by the DOCTOR. Oh, we can give you an appointment for May. Because of their screw up I spent 3 hours in a walkin clinic and they were able to make a small incision and remove a good size stitch. No I would not recommend this place, it's a production line. However, I was billed $638, with a provider adjustment of $444.17, leaving me with $193.83 out of pocket. The claim included a "skin procedure (destruction of skin lesions)" in addition to an office visit, even though no procedure was performed. A routine preventive skin exam should be covered under my plan, but the billing was not corrected. My insurance company even called the office with me on a three-way call, and I followed up again a week later, but the issue was never resolved or acknowledged. I have since paid the balance, but I will not be returning.

Upon returning to North Port a few years ago and learning that Dr. Spencer is now associated with Advanced Dermatology, we checked in to become patients here. I previously saw APRN Devonne Collins-Ligon but for the past couple years I now see APRN AnnMarie Bolduc who also does a good close inspection with reassuring diagnosis, one of which a couple months ago, referred me to Dr. Spencer for a Mohs surgery on my face. He quickly performed the service with the same satisfactory results my wife experienced twenty years ago. We are both, still obviously pleased with the service here.
