Brad told me that when we decided on the roof, the company would come out and take down the solar panels and then replace them once the roof was completed and it would be free of charge. He said they do that as a one time courtesy and that any subsequent roofs we would have to pay. I remember chuckling at that because who replaces their roof every few years? We signed the contract and had the solar panels installed with Everything Solar. The solar panels did not pass inspection by the city and Everything Solar had to come out and put more screws down to secure everything and on the second inspection, it passed. The solar panels worked as expected for the past 9 years. Several months ago, we noticed some water damage on the ceiling of our upstairs bedrooms. We got several roofing companies to come out and assess the problem. The consensus was that it was finally time to replace our 17 year old roof. It lasted longer than I projected back in 2013 so I'm not upset about that. What I am upset about is that the water damage on our ceiling, the roofers and our insurance company concluded was caused by the solar panels coming loose and water getting in through the holes that no longer had screws securing them. The solar panels were not all secured to the trusses as they should have been in the first place. Today we called Everything Solar to talk to them about the one time courtesy removal that Brad promised (apparently just to make the sale) back in 2013. We were fortunate enough to actually get Brad himself on the phone. He claimed that they offer no such thing and he had no idea who would have promised that to us originally. It was you, Brad. You promised that and it was the reason we decided to sign with your company instead of one of the others we received estimates from. We weren't even complaining about the holes in our roof from improper installation, we were only asking for the removal and reinstallation before and after the roof replacement. The way a company treats it's customers after the sale is far more important than the pie-in-the-sky promises they make before the sale. I'm sorry I gave them my business and now that we are looking for additional solar panels once our roof is completed, Everything Solar will not be a consideration. Buyers beware.

I interviewed many roofing companies and decided on Revolution for several reasons. First and foremost, Andrew and his team discovered issues with my roof that other roofing companies had failed to point out. I had a drainage issue with an almost completely flat portion of the roof. Andrew and his team came up with a solution that will prevent pooling and drainage issues in the future. Second, Andrew was quick to respond to questions and gather answers and information necessary for me to make an informed decision. Other companies failed to respond in a timely manner, if at all. Third, Andrew and the team took time to come out and visit the house several times prior to replacement, take pictures, have meetings formulating a plan, and developing a solution for a roof that will last for decades. Once the replacement began, the team started early and worked late, to ensure the process moved quickly. Each night the roof was secured to protect from any possible rain that might occur through the evening. He sold us a seriously underpowered and inefficient unit. So I started interviewing AC companies. WILDLY different prices, units, and sizes quoted. However, a couple of the contractors were straightforward and honest in their assessments, going above and beyond in describing the units, actually using brand and model names, admitting that there are really only three AC manufacturers in the US, and all the varied brands come off of the same factory assembly lines (Carrier and Bryan, for example. Carrier is about a grand more). But this review is about 1st Choice (Now Performance Heating and Cooling? Need to make sure Ricky Mena is still running this show...may re-edit this review to note this). and Richard, one of the people I talked to who was straight with me from the start. They (actually, Richard Mena, the owner) came out to do the inspection and quote. He explained everything they would (and might) need to do, what the cost would be, all inclusive, and provided me with something that NO other contractor did: An estimate with actual brand and part numbers on it so I could research them myself and decide if I was OK with what was being proposed. That, in and of itself, showed a level of respect I didn't get elsewhere. Oh, and his quote was among the lowest of the six, though he was definitely not offering some off-brand, soggy-boxed unit from the warehouse where the Ark of the Covenant was studied by Top. Men. Current line production units, with a published AHSE certificate showing the two as compatible units. Installation went smoothly on the day promised. **Update because I apparently didn't post this after writing it (me am dum): It's been a year. System is running perfectly. Power bills are at least $100 less per month than before, and it's more comfortable, even with the (ahem) alteration in atmospheric conditions [climate change -- if 98% of scientists agree it's happening, I tend to believe them rather than some nonscientist bozo running a federal agency that he was suing multiple times per year right before he was given the top job. Boy, are we winning]. At any rate, Richard Mena is trustworthy, honest, and at least for my family's house, did what he said he would do, when he said, for the price he said it would be, and it was the right system.
