I am not a frequent flyer at nail salons, but when I do go, this is the place to end up. I have tried others in the area and none are as clean, organized, comfortable or friendly. I have had to walk out of other salons before even getting started because of poor ventilation. You know the places, where the chemicals hit you in the face before the door is even closed behind you... On top of the compliments above they are very kind to my daughter when I bring her in and they do a great job with their nail art on her. I have had regular manicures and have tried several of the pedicures. All have been very enjoyable with thorough massages and good care. No matter which services you get here you will be offered a shoulder rub while you are drying at the end. There is no charge but I always end up leaving a good tip in the jar because it is always worth it! **It is a large place but do not expect to pop in and out during 'prime time'. read more

The tech was very sweet but they said they "couldn't" do a gel pedicure (?) - regular only. They do not do dip and charged me $15 and $10 respectively to remove my dip and gel polish with a regular nail file (not a drill in sight), removing layers of my nails until my fingers burned. My nails are translucent and cracked, and the gel polish they used is streaky, so you can see right through my nails. I paid $104 for them to do this. The only positive is that they were nice and they let you add a tip to your credit card payment. I hope it went to the tech instead of to the bottom line this gouge-y, cheap establishment. They didn't even have foam toe dividers - they used paper towels that had been torn off of a roll. read more

It was okay I guess. I made an appointment for specific services then when I got in they asked me what I wanted. I told them what I wanted when I called weeks ago I don't remember now. When they were doing the underside of my feet it really hurt. I don't think I was cut at all but my tech was very rough. The 15 minute hot stone massage was more like a 2 minute lukewarm stone massage and 13 minute hand massage, that part was very good but it was advertised as a hot stone massage. read more

The vibe is chill and they don't allow people talking on their cell phones so it is a relaxing atmosphere. I'm not sure why I keep going back here... maybe it's just out of habit that this is where I "always go". I just keep disappointing myself with the mediocre manicures and pedicures from here. Today I went for a pedicure and gel manicure. The gentleman who was helping me got a little too carried away with the cuticle clippers and cut me. I've been nipped by numerous employees here trying to rush trough the service. Time and time again, I notice that the gel manicures from here usually do not last two weeks and start peeling shortly after a week. The prices are comparable to other places in the area but if I go a little further down the road for nails, I'll get a complimentary glass of wine with my service. Not to mention the woman who did my mani was acting like it was a giant inconvenience to her, she was "half-assing" the whole thing, just going through the motions with no intention. Buyer Beware - THE NAIL TECHNICIANS AT THIS SALON DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CUT YOUR TOENAILS! I had injured my hip and was having difficulty reaching my toenails to cut them so I came here 3 times over a 6-month period to get pedicures and have my toenails trimmed. Well the first 2 visits were fine, but after the 3rd one, I developed ingrown toes nails in the large toes of both of my feet. It first started when I noticed pain at the base of my big toe nails, along with swelling. I brought this to the attention of my doctor who I happened to have a visit with for another issue, and she prescribed an oral antibiotic. After about a week, the issue did not improve, so I went to a podiatrist who diagnosed that I had ingrown toenails because THE TOENAILS WERE CUT TOO SHORT. Now during that pedicure, I just told the technician to cut my toenails, assuming that she knew how to do that. The podiatrist had to perform partial nail removals on both toe nails, and then the next day - even though I had exercised utmost care - 1 of them became infected! Redness, swelling, pain - and fear. You have to be very careful with toe infections since they can lead to Gangrene and Amputation. All because of nails being cut too short during a pedicure. I won't be returning to this salon. read more

One of my friends gets her nails done here every other week. It's very nice! Came in for a gel manicure and they let us sit next to each other. It's a pretty big space which is nice because you can have your own private conversations. The pedicure chairs looked very cozy. The restrooms are very nice. Parking is plenty. I spent close to $100. on a pedicure and a gel manicure ( including tip), and I am so disappointed with the service and the results. My pedicure was rushed. I had to use my paddle when I got home to get the dead skin off of my feet. I don't care if they moisturize and massage my legs! I'm there to have my feet look good. The filing on my manicure looks like a 5 year old did it. I asked for square with rounded sides, and my nails are round or straight across with one side longer than the other. AND my nail color is two different colors. I know that sometimes the gel is a little off from the regular polish, BUT my toes are orange and my fingers are pink!!! It seems that customer service is not as important as making money. This could be risky since there are so many other nails salons to choose. read more

First things first... when I go to get a pedicure I am highly critical of four things. 1. Cleanliness. If it looks disorganized and dirty I automatically assume I'm high risk for catching something. 2. Perfect shaping of nails and polish application. Otherwise, I'd just do it myself. 3. Quality of the foot massage. Makes it worth the price to me. 4. Customer service. I like to feel that I am a welcome guest. Based on my 4 criteria, this place gets 5 stars! I LOVE Floris - seriously. I've been getting my nails done for the past 15 years and I think I've tried every place in the Exton, Downingtown, and Chester Springs area. When I found Floris, my search was over! I've been going there religiously and will continue to do so. They do the best pedis in the world and my nail polish on my fingers lasts an entire week. The prices are not the least expensive in the area but it's well worth it. It's clean and bright and there are plenty of chairs for both manis and pedis so even on busy days you don't have to wait long. I highly recommend Floris to anyone looking for a great place to go. This nail salon is spacious and comfortable however the service was awful. I asked for a standard pedicure and the tech shoved a price list into my hand without saying a word to me. So I reiterated a regular pedi to which he looked annoyed. I was NOT offered a drink of any kind. The pedicure itself was good and thorough. No complaints. I was very much looking forward to the massage while my pedi dried and did NOT get one. Upon paying I handed the pedi guy a $5 tip and he looked right at me and said, "Is this all the tip you're giving?" I was shocked. I will never, ever, go back. read more

One- I asked for a "uv gel fill"- twice. With Uv gel polish. She tells me $50 which I'm not too happy about since that's what you'll pay in a nice NYC salon. I tell the woman that is going to do my nails that I want a gel fill- so what does she do? She starts putting acrylic over my gel nails. I tell her no and she keeps insisting and THEN tells me it will be $70 for a gel fill. $70!!! I have had gel nails for years and have never paid more than $50 and that was with a shoulder and hand massage. I should have stood up and walked out but I wouldn't have time for another two weeks to get them done. See the pictures. They are hideous- thick, lumpy. I feel like one of my kids did them. If you want the good and the bad and the honest truth, here's my review. I went to Floris for the first time last week. I was impressed upon entering. The salon is attractive. They did a nice job on my European pedicure. HOWEVER, they charge an extra $10 to remove calluses. Then I went on to get a manicure and they ask you to pay beforehand so I did. In the meantime, the worker kept speaking Korean to another worker wondering where her tip was. Little did she know it was on my lap. So another worker came over and asked if I planned on tipping. I said yes. They continued to talk about me. I felt so uncomfortable I couldn't even relax, which is what I hoped since I had already payed $80 (pricey as compared to other places). So, I tipped the manicure nail lady 20% and she followed me to ask me where the pedicure lady's tip was. Oh my gosh, i couldn't believe my ears (her tip was in my back pocket by the way). What should have been a relaxing two hours turned into a very uncomfortable experience and $100 in the hole. Please someone tell them that IT IS NOT OK TO ASK FOR TIPS. Tips are not guaranteed!! The ladies at this salon expect big tips and have no problem confronting you. I will not be returning. read more

Most the places I've been to either are too expensive and do a mediocre job or are inexpensive/reasonably priced but rush you and do a fair to mediocre job. I discovered Floris through a Living Social deal last month. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised and thrilled with my experience. Kim, my nail technician, was amazing; friendly, polite, and skilled. She is easy to talk to, and actually listens to my requests - like short rounded nails, actually pretty hard to get from most nail salons. To top it off she goes above and beyond to make your experience wonderful. I will definitely be returning for future services - by Kim - and will be recommending Floris Spa & Nail Salon to all of my local friends. read more

I've been to the Floris in North Wales and loved it, so when I moved to West Chester I went here without a second thought. Sadly, I was disappointed. Their prices for a gel manicure are higher than any other nail salon around. I got my nails done on a Sunday and they had already lifted and chipped by Tuesday. I went into the salon and I was rushed around, they fixed one that was chipped but couldn't get me out of there sooner. I actually experienced someone else with the same experience (coming in to get her gel manicure fixed) when I was getting my nails done. I should have known. Not even 2 days later more lifted. I gave up at that point. A gel manicure that should typically last 10 days didn't even last a week. I should have saved the money and gotten a plain manicure. I'll know for next time. I love getting pampered once in a while, so the name of this nail salon attracted me right away. When I walked in I was greeted immediately by the owner Kathy. She extra warm and friendly and kindly asked me what I would like to have done. The place right away seemed soothing and relaxing. They have friendly staff and a remarkable ambiance. It was as clean as my own home and their instruments get sterilized! The pedicure was amazing! They really take their time with the massage and the hot stone treatment was to die for! Pros:Clean and spacious, wide selection of colors (better selection at Elise), calming music playing and overall great atmosphere. Most manicurists are lovely, as my go-to is Kathy (Floris) or Laura (Elise), who also does my eyebrows. Cons: I took one star off for inconsistent service. The perfect time to go is NOT during a rush hour i.e. Weekend mornings and afternoons. At Floris, when things get hectic, the employees can be cold and insufficient in their nail care. Regardless if you have an appointment you'll have to wait at least 10 minutes if the salon is full. If you can, go during the weekday where a relaxing manicure/pedicure can actually be relaxing. read more

Just got my annual Christmas gift card from my son for Floris Nails in Exton. My go to spot for mani and pedi and sometimes gel and sometimes eyebrow wax. I typically have Kathy for mani but also Yuri and Ellen and Kim and I am always a happy lady. The attention to detail and my comfort is always there. I have been coming to this salon for many years and am comfortable to recommend. I often dont have an appointment so just call and see when they can work me in. It always depends on the service needed and how much time each service takes. Sometimes I may do mani one day and pedi another if they cant fit it all in at the last minute. That's on me though.
