Not sure I'd return here. I visited after work on a weekday for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. Another customer was wrapping up their service as I was starting mine. The ambiance here was a bit daunting as one of the employees was hanging out out on their phone on a pedicure chair next to me, and the music playing was the same repetitive, apocalyptic, tonal sound. My toes were painted with lacking attention to detail. Where the color was painted versus the clear coat did not line up and the color was uneven. My gel manicure was very thick and began to unstick from the sides, ultimately peeling off after 7 days. The total price was $50 so very cheap, but you get what you pay for. read more

My fiancee had a bad experience in this spa today. She went in for a nail treatment and the man working there just said no. No explanation of a scheduling issue or an issue with the service. Just no. My fiancee left and went somewhere else. I recommended this spa to her because I had been here before and had gotten good service and it's very close to the Desmond hotel, where we are having our wedding reception. Since moving to the area a few years ago, the main line nail salons are the only ones I'll go to! Sophia at Great Valley is wonderful! And the staff is friendly. It's so easy to go in and relax the way you should. Yes. It's a little pricier than other salons. It's also immaculate. It's always spotless in there. No concerns about gross things that happen in other nail salons. They also do great work!! You get what you pay for! Photo attached is of my dip manicure -- 3 weeks later. Sophia took such great care of me! My nails looked fantastic and lasted 3 weeks (which is really impressive for me!). I went back a few weeks later and Sophia also did my eyebrows. I decided to come here on a whim one day after a quick lunch at smash burger and it was great! I feel like it's a little hidden (as its behind the hotel) however, I'm glad I stopped by! Definitely one of the friendliest and cleanest salons I've been to. Walking in, I was kindly greeted at the door. Everyone was smiling and friendly, it was almost overwhelming (living in the city, you don't get this a lot). As a nail biter, I tend to shy away from nail salons but lee was very gentle, quick, and efficient with my full set. The manager, Sophia, was very accommodating and made sure I was relaxed and comfortable. She even went through all of the services they offered if I ever decide to return...herbal spa manicures and pedicures with hot rocks, lashes, massages, the list goes on. The prices are slightly higher than in the city, but you pay for what you get! Don't let the one star review stop you. Everyone is different in the way THEY treat people and THEIR expectations. Too many nail places around to ever have to go back to this one! I've never had a more painful pedicure in my life... Mind you... I keep my nails trimmed and in good shape, I just wanted a little pampering... It started out nicely, but the nail technician started digging at the side of my one toe nail... I pulled away, and she just smiled at me. She then started on the other foot, and kept pulling, and digging. At what? I'm not sure. But again, I had to pull away, said ouch and had actual tears in my eyes. Today, that toe is red and very painful. I'm hoping there isn't an infection brewing. Never going back. I started to come to Strafford Nails about 12 years ago. I met Sophia (the manager) and followed her to Devon. I was thrilled to hear she was managing a brand new salon and came to the grand opening. This salon has the nicest staff. The vibe is different. It's also very new, exceptionally clean and they will do anything to make sure you are happy and comfortable. It's a hidden gem. First, let me start off by saying that the experience while getting my nails done was great. Staff was friendly, salon was beautiful, and the service took about an hour. However, these acrylic nails turned out to be the WORST quality I have ever experienced. So much so, that I created a yelp account to write this review. Not only did my index finger nail completely fall off after day ONE, (which I re -glued myself and figured it was a fluke) but then in the next two days, three more nails fell off total. I went back to the salon to get the nails fixed, and they had me wait close to 30 minutes (while two nail technicians were not busy at all) and then charged me $10 for the fix, only days after getting them done in the first place. I thought it was strange that a salon would charge so much for a simple nail fix that SHOULD NOT have broken 3 days after getting them done. LATER THAT NIGHT two more nails fell off, and by the next day I only had 4 nails remaining. In conclusion, these nails lasted me less than a week and half the time I was missing nails. DO NOT get acrylics from here. They will not last, and if you break one they will charge you to fix it. read more

My nails chipped two days later after being overcharged for an SNS manicure. The shape and layering of polish was uneven. I have given this place so many chances but this is the last straw, despite being told on my last visit that a different shape would make my hands look more "feminine". When I moved to the area 3-4 years ago, I walked in and was immediately greeted by friendly faces and a clean, bright, stylish atmosphere. I get gel manicures and spa pedicures. The prices are great for the time and dedication they give you. My spa pedicures have gone on an hour at times, like when I go in after a long nursing clinics, or rough night shift and just want to nap, they let me chill there with my feet in hot water for as long as I want (if they're not busy) while they work on other customers. Sometimes they even start on my manicure while I'm still getting my pedicure. Everyone is just so friendly and I really believe it's all an extension of Sophia's love of this place and the services they provide. This was HANDS DOWN the BEST pedicure I've EVER had. There is a whole book of "herbal spa experiences" to choose from and I picked the "Just for women" experience and it was amazing. They came out with a fancy tray of all of the "ingredients" and seem to really take care in not only the actual spa session but also the aesthetic portion of your experience as well. The employees were very personable and offered us other services but did not try to talk us into anything that we didn't want. There was a complimentary neck/shoulders massage while we sat at the dryer afterwards also... which was something Ive never had anywhere else! The price in my opinion is very reasonable as I have had much less for the same price elsewhere. Ask for Annie & Holly- they both were super nice and did an excellent job! And please.... the salon manager here truly needs instruction on customer service! I went in as a walk-in for a pedicure. I was politely greeted and told to pick a color. They have a decent color selection. But the first thing I noticed was the heavy fumes from the acrylic nails. Once I chose my color, I sat in the waiting area which had plenty of magazines and comfortable chairs. When I was told to sit in the spa pedicure chairs, I was surprised to see them covered in paper. I guess this is for sanitary reasons, but it made the experience uncomfortable. First, I felt like I was at a doctor's office not at an "upscale" nail salon. Two, it made the massage part noisy and NOT relaxing at all. I got a decent pedicure, but for the money, and less than stellar experience, I will NOT be going back. I wanted to like this place so bad! I've been three times now, first my self then with my boyfriend and third with my friend and her fiancé. The Manicures are fabulous and it's super clean. Their Pedicures is where my issue is. they use a sliver of pumice stone to scrub and both times I barely got a scrub. The point of a pedicure to me is to help remove dead skin from my feet. I left just as dry as I arrived after my 45-50$ spa pedicure. It's as if they are trying to save money by skimping on the larger stone. Massage was good but all three times they only slightly scrubbed (I'm talking 10 seconds) the girls were all really nice and pleasant so they aren't to blame. Whoever is running this place needs to step up and properly train and provide the proper tools. read more

I don't usually post reviews but I couldn't believe how horrible my experience was and I wanted to share. I went in for a gel mani and pedicure on a Friday afternoon and I was the only customer there. The only reason I went there was because I had heard good things and I was looking for a top notch pedicure. Don't get me wrong the place is very clean and nice but the service and staff are mediocre. First, one of the employees insulted my hair by saying she likes my color but it's grown out. Then my manicure was less than up to par; Polish was all around my nails on my skin, she didn't clean up my cuticles well enough, and she was talking to another employee the entire time! They were listening to videos on their phones and chatting AND She took a phone call while doing my nails. At that point I was ready for a great pedi, but that didn't happen. They used hand soap with a sponge to do the "exfoliating". My feet left just as rough as when I walked in. Hardly massaged my legs and feet. To say I was unhappy with the service and staff is an understatement, not to mention I paid $20 more dollars than I do at other places. I will not be returning. read more

This was our third visit to Great Valley Spa and Nails. Our first two visits were fine - my daughter and her friend got manicures during the first visit and I got a pedicure during the second visit. Today I took my 14 year old daughter for a manicure. The manager did a fine job on her nails. In fact everything was fine until we were almost ready to leave. My daughter's nails were drying and the manager loudly reprimanded another employee (not sure why she did this in front of a salon full of customers). The manager's tone was quite disrespectful and I wasn't sure what caused the public shaming of the other employee. The two then engaged in a loud battle of words for the next 5 minutes - the manager kept telling the other woman to go in the back if she was going to yell - yet neither one of them did! They kept up the yelling back and forth in front of all the customers. It was extremely awkward. We will not be returning to this place - the total lack of professionalism was stunning to me. read more

This place was located across the street from my stay for the week while in town for work. After reading the reviews, I decided to stop in for the deluxe foot spa pedicure. I opted for the Lavender Relaxation Spa. The nail tech brought over a fancy tray of oils, lotions and aromatherapy bath herbs. The smells were amazing! I was a little disappointed that the water was cold instead of really hot like I usually prefer. They have massage chairs, but they have a thick paper over them, so It constantly makes an annoying crushing sound, that kind of killed the whole relaxation part ( not to mention people staring at me because it kept squishing back n forth) The scrubs were nice, at one point they place tiny stones in between your toes (they too were cold) The larger stones they brought out later were warmer and felt great on my aching tired feet. The pedicure itself was very professional and the place was clean. However, if I were to ever return, I would simply get the regular foot spa, as the massage was a little to soft for my liking. Also, the price was $45 dollars, which was okay, but I would prefer to get the regular standard pedicure and hit up a great foot spa in town with the remainder.
