There's a charming little bakery that feels just like a slice of heaven. They offer an array of delectable cake by the slice, featuring perhaps eight delightful flavors that tempt the senses. In addition to the cakes, you'll find three scrumptious pies and a selection of petite, individual cheesecakes that look almost too pretty to eat. The warmth of the place is matched by the friendliness of the lady at the front, who is incredibly welcoming and eager to help with your sweet selections. The flavors included vanilla, chocolate, sprinkle cake, lemon and blueberry, white chocolate cherry, and I believe they also had red velvet along with a couple of other flavors. She mentioned that they rotate their flavors every so often. When I walked in, it reminded me of Cake Slice. I asked if the recipes were the same, and she said no; they have modified the recipes. I can't wait to try them out!

The shake is a star and was delicious and the Dubai chocolate croissant was everything I hoped it would be and more! It was a thin white chocolate shell filled with whipped cream and lemon curd. The lemon curd was good. I wanted more lemon because it tasted mostly like whipped cream. The blackberry cupcake didn't have enough blackberry flavor, but the texture was good. The frosting was far too sweet and detracts from the cupcake. The carrot cake was the worst of the three. The cake wasn't spiced enough and was too dense, probably from a sugar soak. The frosting was terrible. If it was cream cheese, we couldn't taste it at all because of how sweet it was. It felt like it coated your mouth in powdered sugar.

Let me just put it out there, in terms of Croissants, I think Dream Cakes is THE BEST in all of Reno. Bold words, I know, but these croissants are truly next level. The Chocolate Croissant has a light but satisfying snap to it, with the inside rich with flavor, fluffy, with structure and not at all doughy. The hint of chocolate completes the experience. The Butter Croissant had a rich, comforting buttery base, wrapped in a slightly flakey outside, one that announces itself with a gentle, articulate snap, the kind that suggests precision rather than fragility. It's a crispness that feels intentional, almost conversational, as if the pastry is inviting you into its layers rather than showing them off. Inside, the craftsmanship becomes unmistakable. There is no hint of doughiness, no underbaked heaviness lurking beneath the surface. Instead, each bite releases a warm, buttery richness that spreads slowly, confidently--never overwhelming, always balanced. What lingers is a sense of completeness. This croissant doesn't chase decadence; it achieves it through harmony. The textures speak to technique, the flavor to patience, and the overall experience to a baker who knows that the most memorable pastries are the ones that feel effortless. A quietly exceptional croissant--one that earns its praise not through grandeur, but through grace. Dream Cakes is worth the drive.

January was ending and I took my mom out for the day. I was in northwest Reno, so I knew this was my chance! I saw on their website that you can order and pick up, but it had pick up times for the next day, so I figured you need 24 hours. Good to know! I will be using that in the future! :) When I got there, only a couple was ordering, but when I left, lots of customers were arriving! I believe it gets pretty busy! I already knew what I wanted from the choices on the website. But honestly, when I got there, I wanted everything. So many delicious choices! The Ube cookies are very good. The white chocolate chips are pretty sweet though. The Ube croissant is AMAZING!!!!!! Flaky, soft, buttery, and so much filling! Highly highly recommend! The chocolate chip cookies have plenty of chocolate and are large. Taste wonderful. Staff is friendly and helpful :) The parking lot is small , it is a shopping center with other businesses around.

This is the same kind of baker! She can take your dreams and turn them in to reality! Terry make unbelievable cakes. She once made her dad a cake that looked like a Nikon Camera. The waiter thought it was a real camera. She has made several cakes for us and even done a Nightmare before Christmas cupcakes for us. The cakes look amazing and are always wowed over. The cake itself is moist and delicious. She offers a variety of fillings such as lemon, raspberry, chocolate etc. My favorite is chocolate with raspberry filling. The outside of the cake is made from fondant and can be eaten. I am not a fan of fondant and therefore normally do not eat it. Terry is an independent baker who bakes from home. She has a book of pictures of cakes that she has made. But if you have an idea of what you want she can design a cake just for you. For full disclosure: I have been friends of Terry's mom for several years. That is how I found out about her cakes in the first place, besides having the opportunity to experience them at several friend's parties over the years. But her artistry and the level of yumminess has totally kept me a repeat customer. Those who don't already know and come to our parties always ask who made it and many have wanted her contact information for their future parties. Her cakes are THAT GOOD! They also have become a focal point in my decorating for our parties. They are a work of art. As you can tell... she can definitely work with non-traditional requests really well, too. My son loves having mash-up parties and those totally call for a cake of a "different" design. She listens to our general ideas and then soars with them. She also did an AMAZING job on the Invader Zim cake! I still get comments when people see the pictures on my facebook page and that was several years ago. I totally recommend her for your next party!

I was super bummed they didn't have any, but we did settle for their peanut butter chocolate marble cake. I'm a personal sucker for lemon anything, so their lemon blueberry was a no-brainer. We had to take a red velvet cake bomb home as well. It's a big "cake pop" coated in chocolate ganache. It was my personal favorite! This cute little shop hasn't changed since the last time I set foot in there. The older lady working in the evening was a doll. She was friendly and patiently answered all of my questions. The frosting wasn't overly sweet, but our cake slices were on the dry side. I wish at about $9 a slice they were dated, so as a consumer, I knew when it was baked. The cake bomb is the way to go if you want dry cake or wash it down with a glass of milk. *They do a stamp card here, so ask for yours when you check out.* With their prices creeping up, I'll have to rethink my next visit to buy a dry slice of cake.
