Dropping in late in the day I was worried that most of the 'goodies' would be sold out. Not at all the case. They keep the displays stocked all day. We were greeted by a friendly staff member that was able to answer all our questions. The owner (Steve) popped out of the back and gave us some info on the development of the business which is a good story in itself. Looking for something sweet and ooey gooey? This is the spot!! Went in for some.Cupcakes but changed our mind and got tarts, eclairs and lemon bars!!!. Also a small variety of croissants. You can order ahead and get exactly what you want but coming in later in the day you will still get a variety to choose from. Tarts have the thicker crust that holds up well with the fillings. The blackberry cupcake didn't have enough blackberry flavor, but the texture was good. The frosting was far too sweet and detracts from the cupcake. The carrot cake was the worst of the three. The cake wasn't spiced enough and was too dense, probably from a sugar soak. The frosting was terrible. If it was cream cheese, we couldn't taste it at all because of how sweet it was. The first one I tried was the mango, and the filling was not what I expected it tasted mostly like whipped cream with only a very small amount of cake and mango filling. I was hoping for a stronger Mango flavor. The second pastry looked like an espresso bean, but it turned out to be more of cocoa bean!? it was basically a chocolate shell with vanilla filling inside. I was expecting more chocolate flavor or maybe some cake or thicker texture in the center, just wasn't what i was expecting. The third one was blueberry, and that ended up being the best one of the three. I liked that it had more cake texture, although I still wish there had been more blueberry filling to balance out the whipped cream. One thing I would definitely recommend: eat them right away if possible, or bring a cooler if you're traveling. They did not hold up very well during a 35-minute car ride. They are on the price of your side. They are $10 a piece. read more

Excellent experience buying my husband his favorite cake, German chocolate, for his birthday! I phoned in my order 2 days early and it was ready and waiting when I arrived. My husband loved it! reminded him of the special German chocolate cakes his Aunt made him as a child. Oh WOW! What a great find! Cs Mad Batter Cakery has so many creative treats for both everyday and special occasions. Parking is easy, and the shop is adorable, just as pretty as the pastries. Seating is limited, but we found a spot at the counter. We came in for the Blueberry Bliss croissant and left with a cinnamon roll (warmed, of course) and a Dubai chocolate croissant. The cinnamon roll could have used a little more cinnamon, but we like our flavors bold. The Blueberry Bliss and Dubai chocolate croissants are only available on weekends, and they were every bit as delicious as they looked. The blueberry filling was sweet and flavorful, and the pistachio in the Dubai Chocolate croissant was noticeable even with the sweetness. Cs Mad Batter Cakery is definitely on my list of favorite spots. Can't wait for my next visit. read more

The employee greeted me with kindness and answered any questions I had about their desserts. I opted to get the last 2 Nutella croissants and let me just say, this is the best croissant I've ever had. The croissant itself was perfect and left no weird aftertaste. Not usually a fan of Nutella either but it paired very well with this croissant. Also, the pricing to each dessert I found to be reasonable. I've found my new favorite bakery! They have a variety of pastries/delicious goodies here. From classic cinnamon roll and chocolate chip cookies to speciality/seasonal pastries (like their Bridgerton inspired raspberry rose cinnamon roll), they've got plenty of mouth watering options to choose from. When I went, I got their raspberry rose cinnamon roll and they offered to heat it. I definitely recommend that because the raspberry cream cheese frosting melts perfectly. It was easily one of the best cinnamon rolls I've had. I can't wait to try the traditional and biscoff one next time! I also ordered a classic chocolate chip cookie and it didn't disappoint at all. Perfectly chewy and plenty of chocolate chips inside. Three years later, it's so wonderful to see Cs Mad Batter Cakery and all that is is now, with the huge case of desserts and cracked drinks to their yummy iced coffees. I'm bummed I do not make it out as often as I would like. When thinking of a birthday gift for a friend I thought to myself- Cs that would be perfect! I was a little worried with it being a Sunday and just a few weekends ago driving by and seeing the business packed to the brim. Perhaps with it being Superbowl Sunday that helped as my parent and I were the only ones in there. I had the hardest time deciding which pastries to narrow it down to- but I went with a Mocha cupcake, a football decorated chocolate cupcake, a biscoff croissant and for myself a biscoff latte. I ordered a wedding cake for my goddaughter's wedding from Cs Mad Batter Cakery! The cake was beautiful and delicious! The process to order was super easy! We did everything over the phone and thru email. I paid a deposit and scheduled the day and time for pickup. On the day... I showed up and paid the balance and picked up the cake. The whole process took less than 5 minutes as the cake was ready to travel. The service was great! The cake was small but served the 6 of us easily with almost half leftover. It was chocolate cake with a buttercream frosting. The cake had a deep chocolate flavor and the buttercream was light and yummy!! And I'm not usually a fan of buttercream but it was really great! I only ordered buttercream because I knew that since I needed to transport it and it would be sitting in the car (in a cooler with ice) during the wedding, whip cream probably wouldn't hold up. I'm actually glad I got the buttercream as it was very delicious. If If I need a cake for a special occasion I will be ordering from this bakery again. I wish I could give more than two stars to a local company. I have had the viral fruit desserts in 3 major cities and these by far Im not impressed. They're so small they can fit in this palm of your hand, most of them are two to three times that size. I got an orange and a BlackBerry. First the orange was dipped in such a thick coating of white chocolate it was hard to bite through and it tasted like a baby aspirin, inside was just flavored whip cream, baby aspirin flavored whipped cream, no fruit whatsoever and the teeny tiny piece of cake that's probably an inch maybe an inch and a half inch and a rock hard cookie. BlackBerry, thought it was a blueberry but it was a BlackBerry again very small amount of fruit on top giving the illusion that they're like the ones that are all over Social Media and ones I've had, a thick layer of chocolate and whipped cream flavored with a dry piece of cake, no fruit. So for $26 for two things that were two bites are overpriced and underwhelming. I wasn't the only one in there there, nothing had prices or labels, its a guessing game. I saw people walk out because the person behind the counter did not know either til she rang them up. So as a local business Ill rate you a little higher, will I be back No will I suggest No. $ 26 was to much and these do not come close to the major bakeries in looks or taste but youre charging high end. Super cute Family on Bakery. They even collaborate with other Bakers in the area. I love this part of Reno coming together and making something happen!, very much bigger picture.
