I love going here on weekdays for half priced bakery items. Also when going regularly there is day old items on sale. It's Filipino so I like that. I got the turon it was okay and the ube cookie but the Star of the show I would return for would be the Longanisa. The place is cute. There is seating and parking. Been wanting to get the ube croissant for awhile now and finally made the time to get one! It was delicious, not too sweet. Can't wait to try other items from here!
We came by to check them out. The shop is small and super cute. You can sit down if you have a party of two or less. Overall we came a little later. Didnt realize it would sell out. So come earlier or put in an order in advance. We ordered one cupcake. It was the pandan cupcake. It was good, but a little too moist and there was a creme in the middle that seemed to still be panda. Wasn't sure. Giving the rating as the sevice was ok. The lady was sweet, but she kind of gave us the ugliest of the cupcakes. So overall consistency was about a 4 out 5 for the look of the cupcakes. I think what disappointed me is the lack of filipino bake goods when they run out of their popular items. It was still very typical things like biscoff cupcakes and croissants. I was expecting a full blown filipino bakery. So note that its a fusion bakery. Has french pasteries and filipino fusion pastery. So please go and try the other options. They looked good, but my heart was ready to try the filipino specifi flavors. Head there when they open or within the first hour. Also there is no sign on top. So look for the pink flags, to the right of NumNum. We will go back, but next time order something for a holiday gathering or birthday. I want to try amd rate it accordingly. This rating was focused more on the expectation of the bakery rather than the quality. One cupcake is not a good overall rating of what their food taste like. It was more the experience, advertisement, and the word of mouth expectations. I love the fact, we have a filipino bakery. Really excited to see what else they make and I guess I should follow them on social media to see what other options they have.
A friend told us to try a Filipino Bakery in NW Reno. Opened in August 2025, Dream Cakes is an amazing blend exquisite bakery skills with pasteries that are sure to strike a cord with American and Filipino palettes alike. Let me just put it out there, in terms of Croissants, I think Dream Cakes is THE BEST in all of Reno. Bold words, I know, but these croissants are truly next level. The Chocolate Croissant has a light but satisfying snap to it, with the inside rich with flavor, fluffy, with structure and not at all doughy. The hint of chocolate completes the experience. The Butter Croissant had a rich, comforting buttery base, wrapped in a slightly flakey outside, one that announces itself with a gentle, articulate snap, the kind that suggests precision rather than fragility. It's a crispness that feels intentional, almost conversational, as if the pastry is inviting you into its layers rather than showing them off. Inside, the craftsmanship becomes unmistakable. There is no hint of doughiness, no underbaked heaviness lurking beneath the surface. Instead, each bite releases a warm, buttery richness that spreads slowly, confidently--never overwhelming, always balanced. What lingers is a sense of completeness. This croissant doesn't chase decadence; it achieves it through harmony. The textures speak to technique, the flavor to patience, and the overall experience to a baker who knows that the most memorable pastries are the ones that feel effortless. A quietly exceptional croissant--one that earns its praise not through grandeur, but through grace. Dream Cakes is worth the drive.
Supporting a Filipino-owned small business in the biggest little city! Came for the ube croissant and it did not disappoint! The size was shareable and you can really taste the ube! We tried the longanisa croissant, but was a little disappointed. It wasn't served warm and the whole thing kind of fell apart due to soggy bread from the meat. I also ordered the cranberry orange cheesecake and love that one the most! Cute decor and friendly service!
I wanted to start 2026 off right. I wanted to get back in the Yelp food atmosphere. I follow Dream Cakes on social media and wanted to try their Ube croissant. January was ending and I took my mom out for the day. I was in northwest Reno, so I knew this was my chance! I saw on their website that you can order and pick up, but it had pick up times for the next day, so I figured you need 24 hours. Good to know! I will be using that in the future! :) When I got there, only a couple was ordering, but when I left, lots of customers were arriving! I believe it gets pretty busy! I already knew what I wanted from the choices on the website. But honestly, when I got there, I wanted everything. So many delicious choices! The Ube cookies are very good. The white chocolate chips are pretty sweet though. The Ube croissant is AMAZING!!!!!! Flaky, soft, buttery, and so much filling! Highly highly recommend! The chocolate chip cookies have plenty of chocolate and are large. Taste wonderful. Staff is friendly and helpful :) The parking lot is small , it is a shopping center with other businesses around.
I am so beyond excited that this place exists! It's a bit of a drive for us, but that's mostly a good thing. We'll get it every now and then as a treat and not everyday, because I definitely would come back every single day for an Ube croissant. Those are absolutely DIVINE! As are so many other items including the cinnamon pull apart (warmed up is the best although they do not have a warmer for the croissants yet), the Ube cookie with white chocolate chips, and the strawberry shortcake cupcake. (let it get to room temp unless you're a fan of cold cupcakes from the fridge) I wasn't crazy about the blood orange cranberry cheesecake. It was lacking a bit in flavor, and the crust wasn't very buttery. The chocolate chip cookie (not pictured) was just okay, but the snickerdoodle cookie is by far my new favorite! It's chewy, crispy edges, spicy and warm, love it! I also tried the calamansi tart (not pictured), I didn't care for it very much, it's very close to key lime, but something was off about it for me. Another one that i don't have a picture of is the strawberry rhubarb Danish lightly dusted with powdered sugar. I had that the next day in the toaster oven and it was so perfect. The layers were still perfectly crispy, the powdered sugar melted which actually ended up being really good along with the jam in the center. I did like the longanisa sausage croissant, but the sweetness of it was throwing me off a bit so i didn't enjoy it as much, but the garlic parmesan croissant on the other hand! I could easily eat about four of those in one sitting no matter how strong the garlic is. Regardless of the items i didn't like, I can't wait to come back to try many of the other options. Good lord- the food here does things to me! Every single thing we tried was off the charts but my personal favorites were the Ube croissant and the spam croissant. Straight knocked my socks off!!! It's super cute in here- although it is tiny they do have plenty of outdoor seating. Pricing is fantastic as well. We got 5 things and it was around $25 which I think is great! Service was amazing and the girl who helped us was kind, helpful and knowledgeable. My husband is Filipino so it hits a soft spot for the both of us. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you!!!
Okay, I had to do it! I had to drive from South Reno to Northwest Reno just to taste the delicacies at Dream Cakes. It was a terribly rainy day, but the tables inside were full with patrons chatting and eating. I was determined to get their famous ube croissants. In the case, there were only three left, but their kind employee pointed out a back shelf where they had dozens in case I needed more. The ube croissant was so flakey and filled to the brim with the lightest, fluffiest ube filling imaginable. The crunchy delicate croissant paired so perfectly with the not overly sweet filling. I immediately made an espresso when I got home, so I could enjoy it properly. The staff also recommended a Filipino sausage croissant that my daughter loved! Spiced just right and wrapped in a croissant which catches all the goodness and acts as a buttery wrap. We also tried the garlic twists and the strawberry rhubarb danish. The flakiness was consistent and buttery. The twists were crunchy and would go well with a soup or salad. The strawberry rhubarb filling in the danish tasted truly of fresh berries and seemed to melt into the pastry. So yummy! I'm looking forward to more trips to taste more of their treats.
Great pastries and welcoming service. I love this new Filipino bakery. Very chic and clean. I highly recommend ordering the longanisa croissant, ube cupcake, ube cookies and pull apart cinnamon. We usually come around 9 and they're always out of ube croissant which is unfortunate for me but really happy for their success. Definitely recommend to come and visit and try their pastries!!
We stopped into Dream Cakes to try some of their filipino baked goods and we had an overall good but mixed experience. We tried the longanisa croissant, ube croissant and ham and cheese croissant as well. We LOVED the ube croissant it was not too sweet and it was an absolute 10/10. We will be back for this for sure. The ham and cheese croissant was really good as expected. The longanisa croissant was what I was most looking forward to and it was good but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations as it was falling apart from the moment we picked it up because the meat was so heavy in the croissant it just broke immediately. The flavor was good but it felt too heavy inside the buttery flakes of the croissant. Overall, our experience was good and we look forward to trying some of their other baked goods like the cupcakes, tarts, etc.
Came here on a whim and so glad I did. I got the Blood Orange Cranberry Cheesecake, Ube Cookie, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Pull Apart Bread. The Blood Orange Cheesecake is amazing. I'm usually not a fan of cheesecake because people tend to make them overly sweet and sugary but this one wasn't overly sweet. The crust was perfect and the cake portion was moist and not dense. The cranberry topping was also balanced well and the orange garnish was perfect. The orange piece I think was the skin of an orange. I'm not sure but it tasted like an organic sour patch kid without the sour. It was so good I would literally order it if they sold it as candy lol. Everything else was really good too but my favorite of course was the cheesecake. The shop is pretty small and though there are some seats it's more of a grab and go type of place. The worker was very friendly and welcoming! She took time to explain flavors like pandan, ube, etc. and made recommendations. 5 Stars!
A Filipino bakery in Reno...finally! And trust me--don't let the name fool you. This spot is so much more than cakes. This place is an absolute gem! I pre-ordered online and their website is incredibly user-friendly. Highly recommend doing the same! The storefront is adorable--bright, inviting, and filled with the most amazing smells. It's tucked inside the retail building next to Peg's on Mae Anne, and the service is warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming with indoor/outdoor seating. Now...the goods. I was in Ube Heaven! As someone who bakes Ube treats myself, I can confidently say their flavors are spot on. The Ube Croissant is everything you hope it will be--light, airy, buttery, and filled with a silky Ube cream that's absolutely delicious and fully covered in Ube. The Ube Cookie might be one of the best I've ever had: soft, filled with white chocolate chips and a rich, true Ube flavor in every bite. The Calamansi Tart is a must if you love citrus--bright, refreshing, and perfectly sweet with a soft-crisp meringue on top. Total perfection. The Ube Cupcake is light, moist, and filled with that dreamy Ube cream. And the Cinnamon Pull-Apart with Brown Butter Coffee Icing, pure magic. For something savory, don't miss the Longanisa Croissant. The pastry is buttery and flaky, wrapped around flavorful, fresh-tasting longanisa (pork) So, so good. Overall, everything we tried was incredible--nothing overly sweet, beautifully balanced flavors, and you can truly taste the quality and love put into every pastry. I also love the baker's story and can't wait to try more of their creations. I'll definitely be ordering cakes from here for future celebrations. Highly, highly recommend this bakery!

This shop is so cute! The entrance is pretty welcoming with sign on the outside. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. You're welcomed in to a wide assortment of pastries. I think you can even order ahead online in case what you want is sold out. Which definitely happens towards the evening. I enjoyed what I got from my Too Good to Go bag of day old pastries. I love how they don't waste with this app. A bit of a drive for me, but worth it when I'm in the area! read more

If you're an ube fan, Dream Cakes is absolutely worth the stop. The ube cake was hands down the highlight of the visit moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. It had a rich, authentic taste that kept me coming back for another bite, and it's easily one of the better ube desserts I've had. The only thing that kept this from being a five star experience was the selection. I was hoping for a larger variety of flavors and more items available, but the display felt a little limited during my visit. I would have loved to try more of what they have to offer. We got one of everything they had and that ended us up with lots of earl gray flavors admittedly not my favorite. That said, quality definitely won over quantity. If the variety grows, this would be an easy five-star bakery in my book. I'll definitely be back for the ube. Super amazing staff ! And the building was easy to find . read more

Reno's best kept secret. I was a little surprised when I got in. The outside looks like a typical bakery but the inside is magical. There are flavors I've never seen in Reno. I got a beautiful cheese and then my most exciting thing, an Ube croissant. They both looked beautiful, I'm was almost sad to eat them. Wow wow wow, what an absolute treat to have a phenomenal bakery in Reno! I was on the hunt for ube related pastries for my partner's birthday (his favorite) and came across Dream Cakes. The friendly worker guided me to the ube sweets, but everything looked really good and reasonably priced. Can confirm my partner's loved every single item and had a nibble of it too, can agree how good they were. We will definitely be regulars and I highly encourage everyone to support this local business! read more

Picked up a variety of goodies from Dream Cakes and shared them with the family. The family loved them all! The pumpkin cheesecake, crème brûlée cheesecake, chocolate croissant, and the meat filled croissant (my brother really liked). Customer service was very good and she even threw in another treat (I love when businesses do that because it was my favorite one and something I wouldn't have picked out!) Fun to have such a delicious bakery in the neighborhood! Can't wait to walk there again and get more delicious freshly baked foodies! read more
Yay! A new bakery in Northwest Reno and they're Baking up all sorts of delicious treats! Both sweet and savory. I personally love seeing Ube on any menu. So I had to try their Ube cream filled croissant and not only was this thing big and beautiful, it tasted great! For anyone not familiar with Ube, it's a very delicate vanilla flavor with a tiny hint of coconut. Its natural vibrant purple color is what makes it so unique. Also the cinnamon pull apart and apple danish were lovely, I will be back to try the cupcakes next time:) read more
We came here because we wanted to look for Asian inspired pastries and this place was great! The display case had a good amount of pastries , cookies and cupcakes! We got the ube croissant and it was packed with ube cream that wasn't too sweet but had a good ube flavor. We also got the longanisa croissant, it was flaky and good but the sausage itself was a tad salty for my taste but still juicy and flavorful. We got the pandas cupcake and it tasted very strongly of pandan and it wasn't too sweet. The ube cookie was our definite favorite, it was flavorful , slightly chewy and crispy. We also got the brownie and it was good but standard. Overall a great place to get croissants and desserts! Don't sleep on this place! Total for 5 items: $35 read more
Finally a Filipino-owned bakery in Reno! So of course they would use the classic Filipino flavors such as mango and ube. It's surprising that they also included a twists on classics such like their cinnamon brown butter coffee pull apart croissant as they proudly used Filipino sourced coffee. A lot of my friends have been inviting me this new pastry shop. Finally, I went twice on a holiday weekend ( Saturday and Monday) Hurray!!! First of all, this is owned by a Filipino pastry chef! I almost want to try everything. I had the ff: Chocolate tin can, shall I say! This is dangerously good. It was moist, not too sweet and wanting me get more spoonful. Ube Croissant, this is so sexy! The filling is so generous and feels like cake. The ube outside is subtle. I wanted to share it to my family. but I ended up eating the whole thing. Ube Cookie, surprisngly! This cookie was soft and goeey perfect pair for coffee. The ube is oozing. Calamansi Tart, this tart tastes like lemon. I'm not sure if I can taste the calamansi but that zesty and tartiness is good. I ate it in one sitting Peach mango danish is delectable! the mixture of the fruits are perfect combination, the bread has it'a crunch. Ube cupcake, this is a delightful to eat. I keep on saying tastes like Goldilocks bakery back home. This icing is not too sweet, i believe it has macapuno on top, the bread is soft anf has a ube filling inside. The ambiance is nice, the comfy chair and stool. The service are on top, again feels like home! the lady who works are super sweet, and she informs us when to get the best sellers. A must try next time is their longganisa croissant. My friends and I are wondering you can add a coffee in the near future; like 3 in 1 coffee or a filipino company who sells coffee. Their prices are reasonably priced! except for the Chocolate tin can than is $31. They have cupcake options and other pastries I need to try next time. Overall I'm happy to see a pastry shop, that is close to my home country. read more

I've been eyeing this place for a while now when I first saw the ube croissant! So glad I finally got to go! We ordered the ube croissant, ensaymada croissant, strawberry creme brûlée cheesecake, and pan au chocolat. I had very high standards for the ensaymada croissant because ensaymada are on of my top favorite Filipino baked good! And let me tell you, GET IT. It had the flavors so perfect, reminded me of my childhood. Even my husband who's never had ensaymada said that was his favorite of the bunch we ordered. My number 2 is definitely the cheesecake, then the ube croissant. I'm already dying to go back and try the calamansi tart and the ube cupcake! What a great addition to our community! read more
My review is based upon the goodies I received. My friend from high school of Filipina background was visiting from SF and I had been sending her instagram reels of the photos of goodies from Dream Cakes. It was on our to-dos to go and try this place together. Well lo and behold she went with her family and extended family that had traveled up to Reno together. She was sweet and bought some goodies for me. One of which was the Turon danish. I enjoyed this pastry warmed up. The real winner was the Ube croissant. I remember she told me to keep it refrigerated. When I went to pull it out something told me to try it before heating it up. Wow! No heating necessary. I'm not sure if I have tried/enjoyed Ube but this croissant was incredible. My friend told me that she was told the cupcakes are popular so I'll be sure to add this to my list when on that side of town. read more
It's so fantastic to find a new neighborhood treasure! We went to Dream Cakes to check it out and wow! The pastries and baked goods were beautifully presented in the case. Everything looked beautiful and delicious---so hard to choose from the many offerings. We decided on a cinnamon pull apart, longanisa croissant and the ube croissant. Everything was absolutely delicious. Flavorful bites each time. The gal was so nice and we found a complementary gingerbread cookie in our order. That gin bread cookie was the most delicious gingerbread cookie my hubby and I have ever tasted. Soft and chewy and perfectly sliced. Yum. The shop is light and bright and so close to our house. We are thrilled that Dream Cakes has amazing baked good and it's a delightful treat to have a bakery in the neighborhood!! Highly recommend and we'll be back regularly! read more
Can't believe I haven't been here sooner. This place kept popping up on my Instagram feed and every time it did, I'd drool from looking at their delicious pastries. I finally made it in and from the second you step foot into the door, you feel like you've been teleported to dessert heaven! The place is clean and well decorated and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We couldn't make up our minds with what we wanted and the owner was so generous and just added a few more pastries into our box. Our favorites were the Calamansi tart, Longanisa croissant, and this garlic knot bread roll (I don't remember what it was called). But honestly, everything was delicious and not overly sweet. I love that they had both sweet and savory pastries, such a good balance. I can't wait to come back, definitely recommend! read more

I waited to post a review as I had ordered a special cake for a birthday celebration. I did shop around several bakeries but felt I was most confident ordering with Dream Cakes on Mae Anne Ave. I could have ordered elsewhere for half the price but really wanted a beautiful cake with specific fillings. I ordered an 8" three layer lemon cake with lemon curd and strawberry filling. I asked for the decorations on the cake to be smaller and more delicate in scale. I picked up the cake which was securely packed to travel well in the car. I was thrilled to pick up a very beautiful cake, larger than I imagined and beautifully decorated, exactly as I ordered. Once home I added the cake to the birthday table and added my small candelabra candle decoration to the top. Impressive cake and wowed everyone, most especially the birthday person! Sliced like a dream and was very delicious. I highly recommend this bakery. I love to support this new location for Dream Cakes and a locally owned and operated business. I know there's to go now for a beautiful cake! read more
Came here for the first time and it is all the hype! I ordered alittle bit of everything. The pull apart cinnamon bread, garlic bread, ube cookie, chocolate chip cookie, strawberry cheesecake, ube crossiants and I literally love it all! My husbands favorite was the ube crossiant. It is huge and filled with ube cream, but it wasn't too sweet which we liked! This will definitely be our to-go bakery! read more
Small bakery shop in Nw Reno. It's nice that quality bake shops are showing up on all sides of Reno. This little shop has a few seats, offers a variety of cupcakes with unique flavor combinations. Mini cheesecakes, cookies and pastries. The cinnamon pull apart was great, crisp and soft at the same time. Not overly sweetened. The mini cheesecake we had is smooth and delicious with a cranberry compote and sliver of candied orange on top. The orange adds a bite and bitter addition that marries well with the tart cranberry. The crumb crust is lovely and not too thick. Unfortunately they have no means to heat up your pastry which deterred me from ordering the ham n cheese croissant. I liked the pull apart bun but I'm sure it would have been even better warmed. There are many options to try at Dream Cakes and few options on that side of town. It's a smart choice for the area! Oh my, perfection! I have been holding out for a Filipino bakery here in town and Dream Cakes so exceeded my expectations! At this point, we have had many of their offerings. The Ube Croissant is honestly so iconic and delicious but the Almond Croissant is right up there with is. Best in town no doubt! We also love both the Ham and Cheese and Longinisa Croissants as well. Their cookies, pull apart bread and Danishes are all too be celebrated! Every time we go in, everyone is so nice and friendly, I think they recognize us now we are there so often lol. It is also such a cute location and very comfy to eat in. A win for Reno no doubt! read more
First visit to Dreamcakes and it was very cute! The atmosphere is very welcoming and I was greeted as soon as I entered. It smelled really good and the bakery was pretty and clean. I especially loved the look of all the cupcakes in the display case. They were decorated simply but looked really good! The cookies and pastries also looked really nice. I grabbed the cinnamon pull apart and mini pumpkin maple espresso cheesecake (they also offer a full-sized cheesecake for Thanksgiving!) and both were delish (and reasonably priced - about $9 all together)! The cinnamon pull apart is almost a muffin of croissant pieces coated in cinnamon sugar and topped with a simple glaze. The perfect breakfast pastry that would be very good with a warm coffee, tea or hot chocolate. The pumpkin cheesecake was also really nice! I'm not the hugest cheesecake fan but I can honestly say I finished the whole thing in one sitting and it wasn't too heavy. The cheesecake itself was really smooth and I believe the crust might've been gingersnap? I think the espresso was incorporated into the whipped cream on top. So good! I'm looking forward to visiting Dreamcakes again and trying some of their Filipino inspired treats. There were three ube desserts - a cookie, cupcake and croissant, a longanisa croissant and a calamansi tart. I would love it if they started serving drinks in the future! Service is great! Super kind and helpful! I didn't know what to get so she suggested some. It's a cute little spot. The best desert that I ate was the Panda Express cupcake. Its flavor was super unique yet delicious. I loved the icing on it. The ube cookie was good too, I just don't care for cookies that much. The cheesy croissant was good just too crunchy for my taste. The cheesecake I didn't really like :/ which was the one I picked haha but regardless I would come back for the cupcakes!!! read more

Definitely go for the Ube croissant. It was literally 10 out of 10 and my favorite light fluffy airy not so sweet. The calamansi tart is perfect for spring time. If you like Keylime pie you'll definitely like that. The pandan was a little too sweet for me. It had some coconut jellies on top and mango filling. The Turin danish croissant was pretty good, but if there's anything I would come back to get it it's definitely that will be the ube croissant. The place was very clean. I liked that there was an outdoor seating area of service was great. The employee who helped me out, explained each of the treats that I got I would definitely come back for the Ube croissant. That was my absolute favorite. I'm still thinking about it!!! read more
