Dr. Ozzie is an exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate dentist. After a hospital…read moreER visit, we urgently needed advice from a pediatric orthodontist for our child. Late in the evening - around 9:00 p.m. - we called an emergency pediatric dental advice line that some Bay Area dentists participate in, hoping to get immediate guidance. Thankfully, Dr. Ozzie answered my call. She stayed on the phone with me for nearly 45 minutes, carefully listening as I explained what the ER had shared. She even texted me from her personal phone so I could send X-rays, reviewed them thoroughly, and provided a clear diagnosis along with thoughtful guidance on what to discuss with our pediatric orthodontist. Beyond that, she generously shared additional insights about children's breathing and what to address with our pediatrician before adult teeth come in. It was immediately obvious how knowledgeable Dr. Ozzie is - but even more evident is how much she genuinely cares about children and her work. What makes this experience so remarkable is that it was entirely over the phone: I had never met her, we didn't have an appointment, and this was simply a random emergency call to the first available pediatric dentist. Yet she treated us with incredible kindness, patience, and attention. I have never encountered a dentist like Dr. Ozzie. I only wish our insurance were in-network with her practice. I am deeply grateful for the time and care she gave us during a stressful moment. Thank you, Dr. Ozzie - your patients are truly lucky.

New dentist was not impressed with the work and even referred us to another ortho to have that work redone as well. Wildly expensive and everything is prepay and see what you get from insurance, which we do have dental. Also, weird thing to mention but not one single male on the entire staff including admin. Not sure what's going on there. Also have to mention there was always some weird stuff going on with the billing. I always paid at the end of the appointment but somehow had some prior balance due. Didn't make sense.

This review is long overdue but I feel needed to help future parents who are considering Iron Horse…read morefor their kids.  Cons: I came to Iron Horse in the first place b/c of a bad experience at another dental office and was hoping it would be my "forever" dentist.  I was incorrect and should have trusted my gut. This place is very x ray happy and does so without your permission, consent or any heads up.  I had made it clear I wanted the x ray schedule to be more on the conservative side since we were coming from other offices who had also done x rays which I provided.  During the last visit I was there we weren't due for X rays for 6 months and I had to physically stop them from doing an x ray on my son that wasn't necessary (more nice to have).  I forced them to write on my file to get my sign off before doing x rays moving forward.  I also realized after leaving Iron Horse that they did a Panoramic X ray on my son which is only supposed to be done every few years. During another visit my son had a full set of x rays done for a routine check up and was told "he was fine and that there were no issues" by Dr. Hazel. 2 weeks later he returned to do sealant (something the office pushed that I shouldn't have done) and Dr. Hazel found a huge cavity in a previous filling that she said was "created in the last 2 weeks".  The whole series of events seemed strange b/c why didn't we see this cavity 2 weeks prior during the check up? Was the cracked filling created while they were doing the sealant? What are the chances of a cavity being created in 2 weeks? I was very confused and didn't get much clarity when I pushed for answers which didn't sit well with me.  This interaction + doing x rays without my sign off ultimately caused me to leave the office. Pros: Dr. Hazel is nice to the kids and makes the experience positive and the office has all kinds of fun bells and whistles to make it an engaging experience for the kids (massage chairs, toys, ipads etc..) At the end of the day if you're looking for a more conservative dentist who will only push required procedures, x rays and suggestions this isn't the place for you.

When I pushed back, Dr.Rahman couldn't give me a specific reason my child needed the x-rays, only some generic answer about how cavities can't always be seen visually and they start x-rays for all patients at 3 years old. Coming from a medical family and having done extensive research on the topic, I was not comfortable with this and on our way out, Dr.Rahman already was pushy in telling me we needed to get the x-rays on our next visit. That was it for me, and we found a new dental office after this experience. "Dentists should not rely on a blanket policy for all patients, according to guidelines set out by the American Dental Association. Instead they are to inspect each mouth for cavities or gum disease and then recommend specific x-rays for specific reasons. "It has to be personalized," said Dr.Analia Veitz-Keenan, the director of evidence-based dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry. "It's not one-size fits all." These x-rays were not absolutely necessary, they were "routine" based only on his age.

Like many of the reviews mention, we had great experiences--until I started paying closer attention to the treatments and billing. My son needed a few fillings, and they recommended "happy air" (nitrous oxide), which I later learned simply gives the patient a feeling of being high. That's not something I want my son to experience in any setting. They were already administering localized numbing around the treated area, which should have been sufficient. After completing two out of the three treatments, my son began experiencing dizziness. I informed the office that I did not want "happy air" used for the third session. The treatment itself cost $80, while the "happy air" was an additional $247--completely unnecessary in our case. They initially said that was fine, but then I received a text informing me that my appointment had been canceled. Interestingly, they didn't cancel the first two appointments, likely because I paid the full amount ($247 + $80). But now, because I refused to pay for the nitrous oxide, they were unwilling to complete the treatment. I can't trust a practice that doesn't put patient care first. I had to call them and ask them to keep the appointment and complete the treatment for my son.

Truly Exceptional Orthodontic Care…read more We just completed our orthodontic journey with Dr. Diana, and I honestly cannot say enough good things. From day one, she has been absolutely exceptional - not just clinically brilliant, but deeply kind, patient, and trust-building. As a parent, trust is everything. Dr. Diana earned ours completely. She explained every step clearly, never rushed us, and always made thoughtful, conservative decisions that were truly in my child's best interest. I always felt informed, supported, and confident in her care. Most importantly, my son Harrison loved her. He felt safe, seen, and respected throughout the entire process - which says everything. Orthodontics can be intimidating for kids, and she made it empowering instead. The results speak for themselves - his smile is beautiful - but the experience is what truly sets this practice apart. The entire team is warm, professional, and joyful, and the office environment is welcoming and fun. If you are looking for an orthodontist you can trust with your child, your time, and your peace of mind, look no further. We are beyond grateful. Thank you, Dr. Diana, for an incredible journey and for taking such amazing care of my son Harrison.
