I was searching high and low for a new Mazda 3. Talked with various dealerships from North Carolina to Maryland. I finally found the Mazda 3 I was looking for at Flow's store in Fayetteville, NC. I reached out to them to inquire about the vehicle but was saddened to learn that it actually had two buyers waiting for their financing. After moving on to another dealership, I was informed a day or two later that the Flow Mazda was, indeed, available and would I still like it? I already had a great deal with the other dealership pending so I was very pleased when not only did Todd with Flow Charlottesville beat the other's price, I was happy to hear they would transfer the vehicle to their store at no charge to me. My wife and I picked up the vehicle a couple days later without any pressure for "add-on's" by the staff. Ashaunte handled all the sales aspects and Kendric handled the financing (we already had the check in our hand). The car was in great shape and was gone over a second time by their detailer (Erin who I was happy to see on one of the Mazda 3 Facebook groups we subscribed to!) to our satisfaction after we noticed a minor blemish. We had a small concern with the USB cable connected to the Android Auto feature, however, a simple cable swap resolved that issue. Ashaunte even followed up with me a couple days later to make sure all was good with that concern. As a young woman with very little car knowledge (and little trust for car-related people), I cannot recommend Flow Mazda highly enough. My Prius went caput on me about 48 hours before a long road trip that absolutely required a car. The car search was going terribly until we found Hector at Flow Mazda. Not only did he listen to my requirements for my new vehicle, but he worked tirelessly on his day off to help me find the perfect car and go through the purchasing process. He truly went above and beyond. I was not in the market for a brand new car off the lot, and I was worried that going into the dealership I would feel less important that those who were making those larger purchases. Every single employee who walked past greeted me warmly, and shared my excitement about my new 2014 Subaru Outback somebody had previously traded in. I've never purchased a car and he made the entire process a dream. He was insanely patient and kind and not once did I feel like I was in over my head. I recently bought a used Miata with the check engine light on. I took it to my local mechanic who computer diagnosed it as EGR failure and replaced the component. Next day light came back on and my mechanic was stumped so I decided to take the car to a specialist. The Flow service department also computer diagnosed the problem as EGR failure and said they needed to replace the EGR to make sure it was not a bad part. I agreed, they replaced the valve, the light came back on the next day and Flow gave me a refund. They took the entire EGR assembly apart and cleaned it without charging me. Next day the light came back on. Flow computer check showed a leak in the gas line which they verified and replaced. They charged me for this but that seemed reasonable. Next day the light came back on. Flow found a destroyed gas tank vent valve chewed up by a mouse. (They also found a mouse nest apparently made while the vehicle was being stored by a previous owner. They repaired the valve and did not charge me. Since then the engine light has stayed off. I was extremely impressed by Flow service department working with me over the long term to solve this problem and charging me extremely fairly for the work they did. April 25th, 2019 was something of a milestone for me- I purchased my very first Mazda! After literally months of research, I finally managed to weed out all other contenders. Then came the task of finding the right dealership. After more research, I decided Flow Mazda in Charlottesville, VA was the right one for me. As it happens, I met with Ray Jordan at Flow Mazda. The week before the 25th I test drove a 2018 Mazda3 with an automatic transmission- and I KNEW that was the car for me (only, with a manual transmission). As the 2019s were already available and 2018s had all been previously built (but still available), Ray had his work cut out for finding a new 2018 with a manual transmission, color and package I wanted. I searched on the Internet to study the Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 when I was in the market for a new car. The Mazda won out for several reasons, an important one being that I'd owned a Mazda 626 several years ago and really enjoyed it. I went to our local Mazda dealer to test drive the CX-5 and was fortunate enough to have Ray Jordan as my salesman. Ray was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very patient! He explained things clearly and made the whole buying experience a pleasant experience. He was very helpful in explaining the dashboard and even helped enter an address in the navigation system so I could have a real demonstration. And he very kindly checked on me about a month after I'd bought the car to make sure everything was still going well, which it is/was. I had such an excellent experience with Flow Mazda and particularly with Ray Jordan! I went in to drive a CX-5 because I heard such great things about it from several friends that own them. I was driving a RAV4 and I hated it - the hesitation, the stupid feature that turns the vehicle off when you stop, no album artwork when listening to music on a thumb drive (unless you're in park), not being able to change the speed on the interval wipers... I could go on and on. Ray took the time to listen to what I liked about cars I've previously owned and when I came back from my CX-5 test drive, even though I was very impressed, he suggested I also drive the CX-3 and the CX-30. I just bought a fantastic car at Flow Mazda in Charlottesville VA. The process was amazingly stress free, and the reason was that I worked with Ray Jordan. I really think he was more concerned with making sure I was happy with my purchase than trying to sell me on it. He had multiple opportunities to try to upsell me on cars they had on the lot and didn't. Having said that, if he wasn't sure what I wanted was right for me - I think he would have said so. I bought a used car (A Subaru at a Mazda dealership) and Ray clearly went out of his way to learn about the car I was buying in order to make sure it was right for me. When I bought the car he personally drove it out to my house to make the transaction more easy for me - clearly taking time out of a busy day. We are an unusual case. We had ordered a new Miata through another dealer, who went out of business. Flow was the nearest alternative, so with some aprehension we dealt with them. The outcome was a really first class experience. Having never visited Flow, Shane Puffenbarger greeted us at the door. He knew our story and had the car ready to pickup. We wondered if we were in for any hard pressure salesmanship, but we only had to answer a few questions and sign the papers. We had negotiated the price before we came in, but wondered about the trade in. They were fair with us on that. Overall Shane and Howard Grooms, the sales manager, were professional and delivered a level of service that we appreciated. After a not so great experience with a more local franchise resulted in my deal with them falling through, I drove the two and half hours to see a similar car at Flow I'd already been discussing with Ray Jordan. Ray had the car washed and cleaned and waiting for me outside the front door of the dealership when I pulled in, where he met me to discuss it. It was exactly the car I had spent the past month looking for and we had a deal made within an hour. I made the drive again the next weekend to take delivery after they'd installed the options I wanted and again my car was waiting for me out front, freshly washed. My beautiful soul crystal red Mazda CX-5 was totaled recently in a collision with a dear. I LOVED that car and that color. I went to Flow Mazda hoping to replace my car with one just like the one that was destroyed. Unfortunately, there wasn't one to be had anywhere in the area.
