My experience with Flowers by Lili was still one of the most thoroughly unpleasant experiences I've had in terms of customer service. (A note - if you read the reviews on google and yelp, any negative review unleashes a comical, over the top rant from the owner. It would be funny, but mostly disturbing.) I ordered an orchid flower for Mother's Day. The orchid plant was diseased - the leaves were split down the middle and broken and the edges looked like they'd been eaten by an insect. The recipient was embarrassed to have to complain about the condition of the plant. I called the shop the next day and explained the situation. The owner was immediately defensive - she refused to believe that it was a diseased plant. I asked how she was going to amend the situation because it was a mother's day gift, and she immediately snapped at me and said, "You haven't even given me a chance to talk". When I said that it was very embarrassing and unpleasant to have to do this over a mother's day gift, she said "So what do you want to do - do you want to beat me up about it?" She said that she'd have to wait to receive a replacement plant from the distributor because it was "a loss for her". I asked her how it would be a loss for her, because she hadn't said anything about how she was going to amend the situation - replace the plant or give a refund. I said that I didn't think this was good enough - she immediately hung up on me. In total, this was a 1 min 4 second phone call. I tried calling back a few times, and it went straight to voicemail. This was very amusing since I was calling from abroad. I was just shocked that she had hung up on me, and I was shocked by the childish, mean-spirited nature of the phone call. She then had her driver call me, and he apologized and said that the broken flowers were his mistake because he had picked up damaged flowers from the supplier. This contradicted what she had said saying that the flowers were in good condition when they left her shop. When I told him it was a contradiction, he immediately backtracked and said then that the flowers must have been damaged en route. He also told me that "people struggle and have bad days" and that the owner must not have hung up the phone on me. It was clear that she was standing next to him, because then he said that the owner wanted to talk to me now. I told him that I didn't want to engage in this - and looking at the other reviews, there's just a lot of negativity coming from her. I had thought it would be better to support a small business rather than from a corporation. This has been absolutely surreal. A note to the owner - it looks also like you read all these reviews, and good for you for getting positive ones, but for the negative ones, you go absolutely crazy. I have honestly NEVER experienced something like this - it is incredibly unprofessional, and I feel sorry for you if you have to get by doing business by hanging up on clients. read more

As a recipient of Lili's flowers on 2 separate occasions, i can attest to the quality of the flowers. The arrangements were simple and beautiful each time. I usually just give the stems a trim and some new water after a few days, and they have lasted at least 1 week (sometimes longer). I've received the flowers at my own residence and work location, each time with no issues. I'm pretty sure my boyfriend put the orders on the same day as delivery, and I have not heard any complaints from his end either. read more

The worst customer service, the worst attitude, and super market quality flowers. I purchesed a Yelp deal ($50 for $75 worth of flowers) and called and spoke to the owner, Lili. Told her it was my wifes birthday and that I would leave the selection to her since she knew what she had in stock and what was freshest. She delivered in town to my wifes office 20 yellow long stem roses died with a reddish hue. When I found out that she sent about $25 dollars worth of supermarket quality flowers to my wife and embarassed me, I called her to complain and when she heard I was not happy, she didn't want to hear about it, bitched that I was not appreciative and then hung up on me because I was interupting something. Lili then sent me an email about five minutes later with a crazy response that said, basically, She is tired of all the "rich" people complaining and she gets more tips from the poorer people in town. Then she complained that her son was on the line when I had the nerve to call her and he hung up on her when she went to take my call - sorry, I thought customers were always right and came first. Then, after sifting through all the crazy rantings, her email told me the truth about what happened ... I purchased a deal from Yelp for $50, expecting $75 worth of flowers. Well, she only gets $35 for that purchase (which she made sure I knew she did not even get yet) . So, while I expected $75 worth of flowers, she got paid $35 and so felt it fair to deliver to my wife, $25 worth of flowers so she could still make money on the deal. Poor business ethics, Poor customer service, and Poor flowers (they actually died six days after received) makes this store an easy pass. Yelp had other flower shops in the area and next time, I won't even consider using Lili. I'll just cut out the middleman and go to the local supermarket. I have never posted a bad review for a business before but my experience with the owner of this business was so disturbing that I had to comment. My order was for my first grandchild. I asked for white roses with some blue, for a baby boy. They called back because they lost the card and I had to recreate the message. When the flowers arrived I was so disappointed in the quality and lack of design. The flowers were also topped off with happy birthday balloons. That was the best part of my experience with this business. When I called to express my disappointment, I was screamed at by the owner without her letting me even speak. A few of her words to me: " I am a single mother of three kids and have no f---'n money. You just had a grandchild ... Shame on you ... This bad karma is going to come back to you and on your grandchild." There was much more of this followed by a long and ranting text message. Needless to say there is a real problem with anyone treating a customer this way. While I can empathize with her financial struggles, as a single mom of three children myself, I can not accept how this was handled.
