First we called Leaf Filter, they wanted $8k (first they said $12k hahaha) and that was NOT including new gutters. They said all we needed was their gutter guard. We got Brother Gutters off of Yelp. Best company to work with. I have never had a more polite, on time (scheduling great), and fantastic workers. They know what they are doing. The price was approximately $750.

They were able to come to the house pretty quickly and assess the problem. It was not something that could be immediately fixed, so they promised to send an estimate the following day. As promised, we received the quote and scheduled the work. Timeless Exteriors communicated well, showed up as promised and finished the work in a timely fashion. We were charged as quoted. I was absolutely convinced I had a major drainage design problem…read more My underground downspout lines drain to the street ditch, and after seeing water back up around a riser pipe, I was certain the issue was a site engineering flaw. In my mind, there were only a few possibilities: the lines needed to be re-pitched, the ditch connection needed to be lowered, or the whole system was somehow hydraulically inadequate. I had this drainage system installed just last fall, so the idea that it could already be clogged seemed impossible. Enter A+ Gutters & Drains. They came out the very same day I called. After I walked them through my highly sophisticated theory of grades, elevations, pitch, and drainage design, we headed to the discharge point at the street ditch. The technician took one look and smiled. "There really shouldn't be a glued-on end cap with a tight grill on it. These tend to back up and clog." "No way. Not already," I replied. "Would you like me to check?" he asked. A few minutes later, after attempting to pry it off with a screwdriver, the cap ultimately had to be cut off with a Sawzall. What was waiting inside? Inches of roof shingle granules, debris, and enough gunk to completely prove my engineering theory wrong. In about five minutes, A+ solved the mystery that I had mentally escalated into a full-scale drainage reconstruction project. To their credit, they graciously cut off the other problematic caps as well and explained why they were destined to clog. No upsell. No unnecessary work. Just an honest diagnosis and a simple fix. As I stood there processing the fact that my "catastrophic drainage failure" was really just a blocked outlet, the technician smiled and said, "Bring on the rain." And with that, he was off. Was my ego slightly bruised? Absolutely. Did A+ save me from chasing an expensive problem that didn't actually exist? Also absolutely. I only wish I had called them first. From now on, A+ Gutters & Drains will be my first call for anything related to gutters, drainage, or water management. The estimator recommended replacing the existing gutters around the entire house with a larger size ($10-12K) - completely ignoring the root cause of the issue. As this expense was outside our budget, his recommendation was to call back in a few years when I had enough money saved to pay for it!!! An immediate fix was needed... he reluctantly agreed to provide an estimate to relieve the affected gutter by adding a new downspout in a different location to connect with the underground drain line where it was flowing properly. I contacted two other gutter & drain companies and amazingly their first advice was to do the latter (add a downspout)... and both quotes came in less than half the cost I was quoted from A+ Gutters & Drains. Providing a cost-effective resolution was not in their best interest. Be aware!

But the brats had such a great time in my yard one returned a week later with the longest garden hose I've ever seen, connected it to my outdoor spigot (which I stupidly neglected to shut off from INSIDE) and dragged the hose through my fence and down the sidewalk, water spewing everywhere. It's just dumb luck I happened to be doing laundry in the basement and HEARD the water start up in the pipe. I immediately shut off the spigot at the indoor valve, went outside, and let the kid know I was not PAYING for his party. His father was sitting on the porch watching. Lord knows what my water bill would have been had I not happened to be home. Yeah, when you're working on a customer's house it's not good to use their water to squirt someone else's kids in the customer's yard. Nice kids (the kids on the job) but I'd recommend hiring grown-ups with some focus.

First may I say that I was totally impressed with the young gentleman McKenzie C. as my sales representative. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and pleasant to chat with as we worked out the type, color, and other particulars of the work to be done and he was very helpful during the hiccups (more later). He also was the only rep of the 7 companies I interviewed that bothered to check inside the attic for any damage. McKenzie's in office counterpart Jessica A. was also very pleasant, helpful, and calm during the "hiccups". All three sub-contractors performed professionally and did a good job. As to the hiccups, there were 2-3 issues that based upon my previous background are the result of lacking required staffing levels, quality assurance, scheduling processes, and of course the most common of all communication. These hiccups resulted in delays in the materials to finish jobs, movement in the sub-contractors' scheduling, and discussions with me. My recommendation is you get any proposed schedules and any verbal agreements in writing to save yourself any aggravation. Bottom line: I am pleased with the finished product; my house looks great! I recommend them.
