I usually call ahead because I know Sara can book up because she's basically the Einstein of all hair. And I did call ahead this last time- AND because SHE had the time, she stayed a bit later than usual to be sure I was seen and my cut was on point. WHY is this important? Its my job interview haircut, THAT'S why. Sara knows the impact a good cut has on just about every aspect of life, especially when you need to make a great first impression. My confidence level walking out with my fresh skull drip --- 9,485,845.75 / 10 -- Literally felt like a Super Saiyan. There may be a couple bad reviews here at this location, but I can see why they have put Sara in a leadership role. Its only a matter of time until the level of talent she has spills into the Barbers around her. And it will, because she believes in people. What a great barbershop for a haircut. You can walk right in or make an appointment ahead of time. I'm not sure which is better since I just walked in and waited about 5-10 minutes, which isn't a big deal. The staff here is very courteous and pretty friendly. You of course can wait for whoever to cut your hair or just go with who is next. I went with the toll of the dice and went for whoever was up next. Unfortunately, I'm bad with names, but the girl who cut my hair was a blond girl with long blond hair who is 20. She was easy to converse with about all sorts of things. Disney, drinking and was very nice and friendly. She cut my hair in a very professional manner. The best part is that I looked like a million bucks when I left. So to me I was very happy with the results. The haircut cost $25 which is the usual rate for haircuts. I tipped what I thought was appropriate and was on my way. 5 stars! Will go back! read more

I am female with a short cut. I've tried this location twice with decent results the first time. However after second time, have decided it's not worth the cheaper price for a subpar experience while worrying throughout if it will end up ok or not. Both times I booked WITH shampoo (extra charge) and have to remind the stylist to shampoo my hair (after they dry cut). The sink bowls are not comfortable, I feel like I'm sliding backwards into the sink and putting extra weight onto my neck. The second time I tried Floyd's, the stylist didn't thoroughly dry my hair, left it damp to slightly wet, didn't ask just proclaimed "it looks good", pulled off the drape and began to walk away - never offered a mirror to check the back. My hair will now dry to a total frizz on its own. Not cool. It's not clear if a blow dry is included in the shampoo service or not. If not, I would have paid extra but there was no mention, no offer to let me finish it myself....just a partial dry with no product. Puzzling. Hopefully the final result after an actual Shampoo, dry and style with product will result a decent cut/style but I'm not counting on it and expect to need a redo at another salon. #Bummed read more

Went to this location for the first time today and I am excited that it's so close to my apartment bc I will def make this my new regular shop. I have been to tons of Floyd's location bc my hairstyle of choice is a mullet. Now y'all, hear me out, it's a cute pixie mullet. It's fashionable and not trashy..... right? That's what I keep telling myself at least Anyway, I drove up to the shop last night, about 45 min before closing and asked the girl working the front desk if they could squeeze me in or if I should come back tomorrow. She was suuuuper polite to me (I didn't get her name, smh) but she said it was a long wait but she could set me up an appt for the next day. So yeah, I asked for an appt and she got me in at noon (they open at 11 on sundays, jsyk) Now, usually when you come into an establishment before close (I'm sorry that I was that person but time was just out of my control) usually the person working the desk ((at any establishment, not just Floyd's)) will roll their eyes and make you feel like you're being an intrusion on their day. Nah. This girl was super kind and I def felt welcomed. Anyway, today... Amanda cut my hair and did such a fantastic job. I gave her free reign, just told her what I usually like but besides that, she could do what she thought would look best. During my cut, she was very engaging and also gave me tips of things to do around town since she is a DFW native. (I moved here a little over a month ago) Y'all. She did such a great job! Also, I saw a spot that was just a little uneven and she was such a champ about it. Usually I am afraid that I'm offending their work (bc I'm a bit of a people pleaser) but she was like "oh yeah! Lemme check it out!" And snip snip! Perfect! Everyone at this establishment was in a great mood and chatted with their customers. They also were dressed well, cleaned up and looked like they were ready to tackle the day! I know that it may be silly that I'm paying so much attention to detail but when I go to a hairstylist, I really go for the ambience and if they have greasy hair.... Went in today and I had to literally show my stylist where she didn't finish my cut leaving me super lopsided. The haircut looks like garbage and still had to pay $50. I asked for a blow dry at the end after she washed out my hair and for product and was basically rushed out of my seat. Don't go here if you give a crap how your hair looks read more

Receptionist confirms a cut and beard trim. Stylist says we don't have time for a beard trim, especially not with a zero fade! Well the zero fade is closer to a 2 and then just a hard line cut at my beard, even with out a beard trim everyone else at least fades the side burns. If you're a guy looking for a quick, cheap cut, don't come to Floyd's. If you're looking for a detailed, consistently well done, enjoyable and appropriately priced cut, then this place is perfect. I've been seeing Roger about once a month for the last 9 or 10 months. He always gives incredible attention to detail, and you can tell prioritizes doing a good job over pushing as many people as possible through his chair. I also really appreciate that (at least with me) he isn't a huge talker. He's very polite and friendly, but I typically prefer to relax and enjoy the music & atmosphere and let him focus on his work. Cost for a basic cut is $24, and I always tip $5-$6 since he does such a good job. They make a point to get to know you over time. During my last cut I actually had forgotten my wallet that day, but I called ahead and they said don't worry about it, they were cool with me calling in with my card later or coming by with it another time. I do not recommend Floyd 99 in Lewisville due to their inability to listen and follow what a customer is requesting. I have been to Floyds 99 in Lewisville multiple times requesting a trim and explaining very clearly to not cut my hair short. So I recently moved here and have been searching for a barber in the area and came upon Floyd's. I sit down and he asks what I want and I state a low mid fade with a 0 on the side and a 3 on top with a beard trim. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the outcome. For one he didn't use a neck guard before putting the cape on which I didn't notice until the end. The actual haircut was very subpar compared to other haircuts I've gotten in the area. The 0 was much closer to a 2 on the side and the blend on one side of by beard to my hairline was off. He left me red marks on my neck around the throat area while lining up the hairline as well. He also didn't use a blade at any point for the beard which I thought was the bare minimum when lining up a beard? I am too polite to say anything in the moment so just smiled and said it looked good. I'm considering going to another barber in the morning because I have an interview tomorrow and I just don't feel confident as I usually do after a haircut Oh and a plus is that this was the most expensive hair cut I've ever had at a whopping $59 before tip ! I got a really great pixie-style cut with Camilla the other day that I'm very happy with! I picked a non-weekend day and called ahead for an appt, showed up on time and was through in less than an hour! I gave it a few days to make sure that I was truly happy with the cut so that I could post a sincere review. She was so sweet, took the time to really look at my pics for reference, and gave me a fantastic cut that I just love! I will definitely be back and will request her every time! Probably the worst experience I've ever had getting a simple cut. Kenneth started cleaning the back, which felt like he was getting gum off my scalp. He then went to "blending" the top which doesn't even look blended. It looks like he just buzzed the sides and left the top untouched. Then went to my beard and had the most obviously crooked line on my neck. I've had 2 good experiences with other people which made me come back but Kenneth wasn't it for me. read more

Coppell Tx Floyds... I give a 5 star review because Devon was really friendly, patient and helpful, definitely recommend booking with him every chance you get. But I do want to speak about my experience with "Sky B" or Schuyler. It could not have been worse. I arrived at her chair and she was in her phone for about a minute before she even noticed I was there. I explained to her exactly how I wanted my haircut and she took literally 5 minutes and said she was done. I asked for her opinion on some things multiple times and it seemed that she was trying her best to be unhelpful. So after the 5 minutes she took, I asked her to cut a little bit more on top and the sides and she looked very annoyed and made it clear that she was frustrated. So she took 2 more minutes barely cut anything and after that I asked her to cut a little bit more and give some texture, she said she couldn't do with the worst attitude possible and left to the front desk. 3 minutes later they switched me to Devon cause she had another customer waiting. That was literally about 10 minutes after I sat on her chair. so it was clear why she was so impatient and was just trying to get me out. After that the experience with Devon was the complete opposite and and he was really nice. At the end without me even saying anything, the manager didn't charge me anything for the haircut since she probably saw the way Sky B treated me. and that is pretty much it. NEVER NEVER NEVER GET A HAIRCUT WITH SKY B, SHE IS THE WORST. Always go with Devon read more

And it still amazes me how they have zero consistency in booking appointments and walk ins and getting to see the same stylist / barber. I call o get told the lady was off and sick and when I show up she standing right there with a shoulder shrug sorry. Then I get told to just come in there no line to sit for 45 while 6 people walk by me. Then I come in and sit while 11 people walk by me another time and they have half the chairs working and a full house. They do a good job cutting but their system to attain new business an keep loyal customers is not consistent. Beware you maybe only person in line and wiait a hour. I finally found the rhythm here and I use tom who has been a top barber for decades and working with floyds for years. He has the hand and touch that make my hair look amazing. After many visits enough is enough. I visited Saturday 1/20. I have been here many times and it truly is Russian Roulette regarding whether you get a barber (stylist) or a butcher. The barber on this occasion was uncooperative, rude and as uninterested in customer service or hair as is humanly possible. She seemed angry. I explained how I would like my haircut so as not to upset her more, and no more than six, thats right SIX minutes later she was done. 30 bucks with tip for a six minute haircut that I had to go home and try to fix. Needless to say that took much longer than six minutes. What a joke. Maybe they should put as much effort into the staff as they do the store. Never again. In a time when people are nervous due to COVID-19, Austin was amazing and gave a great haircut. Pros: AUSTIN! I specifically requested him after reading about his reviews here. I hadn't cut my hair since February, and I went in to cut my hair in May. My hair had gotten long, but I couldn't cut it due to barbershops being closed during COVID-19. I was asked to wear a mask, which I thought was super awesome and considerate. I booked an apptment ahead of time. When I went in, there were no other clients getting their hair cut, and Austin was waiting for me. He seems like a friendly guy, fairly young. I told him I wanted a tapered fade with an inch cut off the top. He chatted a bit during the haircut (about bands, shows, Oklahoma). When he cut around my ears, he asked me to lift up the straps of my mask to be able to shave that part of my hair. It was a quick cut of maybe 30ish minutes and was $25 I believe. After checking out my hair more, I was so excited about how it looked. Austin can do a great tapered fade and can transition the longer hair on top to the sides well! read more
