This Floyd's Barbershop has improved over the years- tremendously. I only go here when I need a nice shampoo/wash for my hair. Since my regular hairstylist was out of town, I decided to go to Floyd's. Walked in yesterday around 4:45pm w/out an appointment and the guy at the front by the name of Robert checked me in and told me that it will be a 30 min. wait. I agreed and took a seat in the shop. I have had my ups and downs with this place. The last lady that I have seen here who did a marvelous job was Brit who no longer works there. Anyway, didn't wait that long, after 25 minutes of waiting, Nick welcomed me with a pleasant smile and I took a seat on the chair. He gave me an excellent wash/shampoo and did a good, clean job. He was also gentle with my hair. We had a small talk, and boom, job was done in less than 10 minutes!! The whole entire wall is covered with famous celebrities. They have been around for over 25 years and their expertise are: color, wash, cut, blow dry, beard trims, straight-razor shares & shoulder massage. The prices are a tad expensive, so that's why I only go for the wash.They have a lot of different types of products and don't try to sell anything to you unless you are interested to buy something. Nick earned his tip, I got my wash, only paid $6.00 and was out of there. Where else can you get a $6 wash?? Absolutely unacceptable experience. My daughter has been going to Floyd's for years, but after her longtime stylist left, we trusted someone new--and that was a huge mistake. She walked in with beautiful, waist-length hair and asked for simple long layers with light face-framing. What she got was a butchered, uneven, lopsided mess that looks nothing like what she requested. The stylist kept cutting and cutting, clearly out of her depth, until the damage was beyond repair. We are now stuck spending thousands of dollars on extensions and corrective work just to make her hair presentable again. The stylist, Ally (with orange hair), should not be taking clients for services she clearly does not know how to perform. If she lacked the skill, she should have had the professionalism to hand the appointment off to someone who was capable. Instead, she chose to proceed and completely ruined my daughter's hair. We will never be returning. I live in Studio City, and many of my family and friends are Floyd's clients--I will absolutely be sharing this experience and strongly encouraging them to take their business elsewhere. read more

Been going to this location over the years and had a variety of staff chop my mop. Haven't been in a few years and came in on a last min need for a clean up. Ali was my stylist and she killed it. Awesome to chat with. Chill vibes and excellent skills with the scissors. Been back a few times and it has been spot on each time. The customer service was great and woman who did my hair was an amazing person, it was fun talking to her, but I'm pretty sure she forgot what I wanted halfway through and just gave me a random haircut that resulted in me looking like an Ally Sheedy impersonator. I had very specific instructions for my long layer cut, none of which involved 5 inches gone and BANGS, but now most of my hair is gone, and I have lopsided bangs that are impossible to style. Seriously, I am considering shaving my hair off and starting fresh because I am terrified of how this will look like grown out. To give the hair stylist credit, she did spend extra time trying to fix my hair and said I could come back any time of the week and she could tweak it, but there is nothing to be done, and I honestly don't trust her with my hair anymore. If you have long hair, do NOT go to Flloyd's. They are a barbershop at heart and at the end of the day, you'll either walk out of there with short hair or a refund. Flloyd's, if the majority of your staff cannot do long haircuts just stop offering the service. It will be better for your business and your reviews. Or if you're going to keep the long haircut service, at least have the audacity to provide free hats for your customers. I have never written a yelp review in my life, let alone a bad one, but at the same time I have never hated myself this much because of a haircut. Britt L. has no place working in a customer facing profession. I made an appointment online and arrived a few minutes early. 12 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, I politely asked a woman at the front desk if they had an idea of how much longer it would be until a barber was able to see me. She looked to her right and Britt first snapped at her colleague to say it would be five minutes. She then saw me looking at her and snapped at me. I calmly told her it was a fair question for me to ask to which she responded "yea, sure". When I was finally sat in her chair (20-minutes after my scheduled appointment), Britt asked how my day was going and I shared it was going fine until she snapped at me. She then began gaslighting me and saying she didn't snap at me or lose her temper. We both remained silent throughout my cut until the very end when she passive aggressively told me I can book a chair with any other barber except her if I don't want to see her again. I told her I had no plans of returning and she asked me if I was satisfied with her service today (again, passive aggressively) to which I replied I just want to leave. At this point, she became even more argumentative while continuing to gaslight me until I asked her why she was still speaking to me if she actually believed anything she was saying before finally walking away. Up front, I want to say that Justin is the man. He's an excellent barber/stylist, and I always get a good haircut whenever I come and get a cut from him. He's also super nice, and is the reason that I keep coming back to this location. Cannot recommend Justin enough! So why three stars and not five? Well, I would give Justin 10 stars if I could. The reason that I have for not reading this location very high is first of all they have increased their prices recently, and I understand that they want to be able to pay their stylists and pay their rent but a price increase at the worst possible time hurts. Second, there is very limited parking behind the barber shop. I have come here for a haircut, and not been able to find parking, and that's annoying. Look, all of the staff here seems super cool, again Justin is a great barber, but I think that there are some issues with Floyd's corporate that are bringing this place down, not the least of which is location. read more

Fabi cut my hair and it was Fabi-lous. Cynics might find the place to be a little Mod Pizza meets Hot Topic with the poster wall, but it's nice to know what to expect as I got a haircut nearly 400 miles from home, even though their website oddly touts that no two locations are the same. What a haircut! I love coming to Floyd's especially this location. Once you find your stylist, it's the best! I have had a few stylists here but my favorite is Teddy! Teddy is so amazing. He's funny, charming and he does the BEST job on my hair. His attention to detail is immaculate and I love spending time with him while he makes my hair look its best. I keep coming back to enjoy styling by Teddy but I am also very happy with the pricing at Floyd's. I feel like it's very fair and they always over deliver! There are always a few people waiting at Floyd's and I can usually book an appt a week in advance and get in! I usually see them doing walk ins if possible. Great spot!!! I badly needed a trim of my beard and just felt it was more than I could do by myself properly. I walked in a couple days ago without an appt. Greeted very welcoming by a woman at the main counter and I told her what I wanted by showing her a photo. She pointed to Dalana. I showed her the photo as well and within minutes she gave me exactly what I wanted and and made everything perfect. She is a perfectionist for sure and I appreciate that. This is not the first time I've had the blond lady at the desk here gaslight me about whether or not I had an appointment (I did, showed it to her on my phone, and she acted like I was crazy) but this is the first time that lady started cutting my hair. She was comically bad! I would have been nicer about it in this review if she wasn't so backhanded and rude!! Instantly she was really condescending, rushed the cut completely unevenly and poorly, made me apologize when SHE has made this booking error before. She doesn't follow my directions or pictures at all and just runs a dull unclean shave over my head like a 10 year old boy's buzzcut, it looked like a kitchen haircut, and still does. There's little long pieces sticking out on the sides, it's not even at all. When I politely told her that's not what I wanted (OR PAID FOR, $41), she gets defensive and rude and goes "okay, what do you want then? You didn't book the appointment." I HAVE PROOF I DID. Legitimately THREE minutes later she is like "your haircut is done." She gets overwhelmed and says she can't cut anymore hair and says a barber will have to do it. She acted like she was doing me a favor based on my nonexistent error of apparently not having an appointment, which I did. I have screenshots that it was with a barber. This is the second time she's done this too. Which is why I'm even more compelled to say this all. Three minutes?!?!? SHE WANTED TO END IT THREE MINUTES IN??? She didn't know how to blend, layer, or do any basic hair cutting. Again I could have choked through it if she wasn't so rude. Then she pulls a woman off her break to try and fix my hair. She gives a quick fade on me, but she couldn't save me from the horror of the first haircut. Completely uneven when I got home. $41 for this Supercuts haircut. And the attitude from the blond woman was completely unnecessary. I feel bad for the girl who tried to fix it, but it still looks horrible. Never going back! Fix that blond woman's attitude. I took my 10 year old there a few months ago who was saving up gift card money to get a haircut she had been wanting for months. They did a very poor job and gave her a bad experience in the chair. As I was paying, I used the bottle of hand sanitizer they had on the counter and the tip was so crusty it ended up squirting me right in my eye! What terrible pain. No one showed any concern and I had to ask multiple times to use the faucet to rinse out my eye. It burned for almost 2 days. I should have learned my lesson but because they are close to my house I decided to give it another try. I made an appointment on their app for myself. When I got there today, the receptionist told me I didn't choose the right hair type on their app so they could not cut my hair! Unreal. Horrible place. I needed a fade and trim for an event and my usual barber is in Santa Ana - so I went to Google the closest place I could find. I gave the barber as much details, pictures and videos of what I wanted but alas, I came out of there a whole different person. He gave me like a military cut up top and the fade faded all the way to my top hairline. Because I have terrible vision I couldn't see where he was cutting until it was too late. The haircut lasted all about 20 minutes with the way he was cutting - too fast and no vision. I didn't want to post a review or anything but in my social media, people reached out with the same complaints about Floyd's Barbershop and safe to say, a lot of people came out with the same feedback for this place - "a glorified supercut". OVERPRICED. How the hell did a "root" touch up with a 5 minute crappy diffuser blow-out that left my hair super frizzy come out to $130. Their "single" process color starts at $60 according to the pricing board. How did my roots end up costing 90+17 for extra color? I was told that the $60 price was "gray treatment for men." LAME. I arrived a couple of minutes before my appointment time, I was told to sit down and wait. So I did....10 Minutes passed and nothing...not even an acknowledgment or apology for them running late...so I got up and told them to cancel my appointment and it was only them that I was told my stylist was just finishing up and I would be next. I would've given a 5 stars if my original barber was still working there, because he was amazing!! I decided to continue going there but to find a new barber that would become my go-to so I went on the app requested the same service I always do with the original barber. This time though, I was going to go down the list until I found a barber that I felt would be able to provide the same quality that the prior barber provided, so I signed up for a cut with Ameilla since she was alphabetically first on the list. I had to re-arrange my afternoon to make it to this appointment and when I get there not only do I have to wait past my appointment time, but I get passed off to Karineh who apparently is not a barber and can NOT perform the services I requested! I'm then asked if I can come back an hour later, and that point I realized I won't be going back there! This bait and switch is absolutely in bad taste seeing as how my money should be just as good as everyone else's and apparently not everyone that works at that barbershop are even barbers (I don't know how that makes sense)! I would recommend any other barbershop, because I literally went down the street to closest one nearby (Champions) and now I'm getting a cut from an actual Barber! read more

Nice barbers, cold aloof receptionists, and even though the haircuts are nice, they never look anything like the photo I bring in. They just do whatever they want. At this point, I've given up trying to find a stylist that will do what I ask, so I come back here because they can at least do even sideburns... after a few tries or if I even it out yourself at home. I haven't figured out yet how to get a stylist to cut my hair like the photo I bring in. But at least they get about 60% there. Most other places refuse to cut my hair short. If you have breasts and want a guys' haircut, they may actually do something close to it here. read more
